OK Habs I got your back!!!!!

Habs is generally a nice person in game.

Any non-relic hat RDM that I have seen solo anything wears an Elite.
I think all wise gear is crap and wouldn't waste my time with the -inv for the rarest situation you could use any of it.

He is saying AF hate for enfeebles; so thats not really 'getting his back' as you disagree with him.

I figured this thread was long-over after the first few posts that were constructive. All I read is "ur stupeed" "no u" back and forth.

You mean... So says the person with 2 alts that are 75 Rdm.

Niobe and Xerith are both 75 Rdm w/ nearly full merits. :P

Try again. =)

you mean haste or hat ^^

I don't agree with his weird RDM views, just trying to lighten up the attitude against him/her that's where I had his/her back.

Guys, guys calm down...

We all know FC+1, Elemental Skill +10 and INT+5 is better than MAcc+6, Enfeebling Skill +10, Enfeebling Skill +5 and every other piece of equipment the game has to offer on RDM head while casting Slow/Para/Gravity/Bind and all that other stuff.

I'm a bit late to the party, and I'm sure others have said this. I read the first page but I skimmed the rest of the thread once the posts started to get a bit off topic. If this has already been said, ignore me!

I personally used Wise Cape until I got my Relic hat. Biggest reason being that I personally found 5 Macc more beneficial than 4 Skill. Not to mention, the Macc would apply to any debuff spells--so I was also able to use it when I was /blm, on Drain and Aspir.

All that being said, watching Habs describe his RDM play style makes me so glad to have some of the players I do in my ls's.

Im preparing to be flamed, but I think the wise "condom" hat is cute... maybe thats because Im a taru.
I'm fairly new to RDM eg wise. So Ive actually learnt stuff from this thread :D
I'll admitt I was maining my AF+1 hat. Not because I particularly thought it was leet, but because it seems to be what most of the rdm i see doing at events.
I do have one question though. Bare in mind I only do Dynamis and Limbus. At what skill should I start looking at MND boosts instead of skill?

The only spells that MND matters for are Paralyze and Slow.

Well, and Cure but that's beside the point.

1 MND = roughly 0.5-1 M.ACC depending on your MND compared to target's MND.

What that means is the higher the level of the NM you're fighting, the more useful MND is.

Seeing how dynamis Xarcabard will never happen for me, I'm trying to decide what I should pick. Does 1 Magic Accuracy even really equal one magic skill?

yes they are excactly the same, proven in tests

ill even find them if you really want.

anyone who says they are not the same haven't read the tests yet

also hq staff is exactly 30 magic acc
nq is 20

1 stat = 1% magic hit rate until you have 10 more int(or mnd if using a mnd spell) than the mob
after this every extra point gives .5% hit rate

skill or magic acc =1% hit rate when you currently have over 50% hit rate
.5% hit rate when you currently have under 50%

in other words, stack on int and mnd until you have 10 more than the mob, then use skill and magic acc

of course knowing the mobs int or mnd can be a pain but a general rule is 110 int is enough for most hnm mobs

if you ever do sky go full on int.

also means mahatma leg are > nashira in most cases (since enough skill is so easy to put in hat neck and body slots)

Unnecessary addendum: Almost always, if you have a choice of Enfeebling Skill or INT/MND, one piece will always outweigh the other. For instance, Duelist's Chapeau has 15 skill. No head piece even gets close to that. Hell, only one gets almost half that, and it takes 3 years of work to get.

Likewise, for body, Warlock's Tabard is +15 skill. Closest you can get is INT/MND+10, unless you go HQ.

Then there's slots with like Morrigan's slops (+10 INT/MND) or Nashira pants (5 skill). Morrigan's are more than twice as good, take those.

The only thing I can think of that even comes close is back, with either +5 INT/MND, or +5 skill. In which case it will depend on what you're fighting.

Blah stupid quote button. Even if 1 mnd/int was equal to 1 macc mahatma legs would still only equal nashira in terms of resist since it has 5skill and 3 macc... not to mention haste

no

because it depends on your current int/mnd and magic acc/skill

i could get 352 enfeebling magic yet i keep all that junk in mog

why? because you get almost 0 resists if you use mnd/int properly

you only need skill/acc in hat body and neck slot.

Well it depends on your base INT/MND.

1 skill=.9 M.ACC, so that's 7.6 M.ACC.

Mahatma are 8 M.ACC unless your INT > (10+target INT)

.5% hit rate when you currently have under 50%

So if a mob has 100MND, you get yourself to 120 MND and going by that it'll give you 15% hit rate, then you have 35 skill to get you to 50% hit rate, and only need 100 more skill to get you to 100% <_<

Either there's a massive chunk of the formula missing, I'm reading that wrong, or that's just plain out of whack, 'cause that'd mean that a war/whm could land debuffs on HNMs easily <_<

Only if your stat is >= 11 than the mob. Otherwise just stack enough skill to land the spell, and stack the rest with INT and MND to maximize the effect. Aside from Gravity which I don't think matters.

yes but nashira = half of that if you currently have under 50% magic hit rate

which if you sacrifice too much stat for skill is going to happen on a lot of mobs.

general rule if they they both provide equal bonus at max, go with stat unless you know the mob has low amount of it (like sky golems)

No INT enfeebles have a potency. They're all just Resist%.

What that means is if you have 0 INT and enough M.ACC/Skill to make up for it, sleep/sleep2 will always last for 1 minute and 1:30, respectively.

Not like Slow II where more MND=Slower.

Magic EVA works the same way as Magic Accuracy.

Which is why MND - MND = your hit rate.

Elemental debuffs (burn etc.) potency is effect by INT. Not entirely relevant in a rdm discussion though <_<

They're classified as Elemental Magic, however.

And if you want to count Elemental magic...Freeze II's potency is affected by INT >_>
