It's not that kids don't read it's that they can't comprehend what they are reading !
What amazes me that Plato Socrates etc managed to write books with thousands of pages. And people today can't read a book over 100 pages.

They are not using it to educate themselves in anything productive. Fone, with his massive Simpsons and other pop culture vid knowledge, is actually better than most.
P. S. I blame this on the media in general not just the internet. IMHO it started about when TV news went from the documentary model to the drama model but there was a paradigm shift in all news media at the time.

I blame the easy willingness doctors prescribe anti depressants to kids that spend too much time on Facebook and Youtube. They should go outside an exercise they would probably feel better.
