I feel really dirty pointing this out because it's kinda grodie no matter how you cut it but as gross as it is by current societal standards, dudes creeping on 14-year-olds wasn't nearly as uncommon or frowned upon at the time these events supposedly happened. Especially where it happened. Though it was hardly unheard of elsewhere, regardless of political or social affiliation.

Times have changed, and that's mostly good.

But honestly I can't imagine anyone changing their vote over it. If you were already on board with his politics there's little reason you couldn't easily talk yourself into a "well I don't approve but those were different times" mindset.
