Don't think Athos boots would beat AF2+2. Perhaps you meant hands+feet?

No, meant feet. I don't know what race he is, or what his dDEX would be. But hands are worse than raider's in every way.

:D

Still if you're in the dDEX sweet spot, Athos's boots would probably be slightly better.

I was actually thinking of the set effect and edited in hands+feet. I agree hands aren't better than af3. 3DEX beating 3TA +2% TA damage still sounds odd. I should go read back on dDEX and see how much of a boost you can get with the right amount of DEX I guess.

You can get 3% from Athos's over Assassin's +2, depending on what your dDEX is at, I mean.

I thought the +3% Crit was from wearing the 1st pair (as in couple) of items from the set, meaning all you'd get out of the boots vs af2+2 is 3DEX.

3 crit and a point of WSC does. Evisceration is already 6 hits with DW, so it can only TA once, which devalues the TA on it a little bit. And in turn, devalues the TA damage.

Athos boots alone shouldn't give +3% crit though, at least according to the link on BG showing that you need 2 pieces from the set to gain the bonus, and Chrono's set has no other Athos parts.

Let's say dDEX is 40 with Assassin's +2. That would be 5% crit from dex. Athos's is 3 more DEX, that would be 43 dDEX, which would be 8% crit from DEX.

Would Nefarious+Rancorous beat out Rancorous+Justicier Collar? And does the 13STR/2% DA beat out +5% crit on Loki for Evisc?

hmmm my set up is slightly different to all the above and as im at work atm, i cant show u screenshots of gear etc but...

If im right, the focus areas for stats aree as follows for THF:

TP = Haste (to 25%) attack + acc
SA = AGI
TA = AGI + emnity
EVI = DEX
MS = ???
Rudra's = SA set up? (agi?)

Also, i use TH dagger off hand for obvious reasons but are u guys all swapping off hand weapons after first TH trigger? or scrapping the TH dagger altogether? Swapping is a little bit of a pain but i cant justify losing the extra TH.

I do wanna say thanks tho, didnt realise the upgraded Heca gear looked so cool. ima get out of storage and start working on these ^^

good feedback only please guys, it would be cool to get this right so people can use this thread as a good guide to THF uberness

Tutuman!
You can swap out TH gear after your first hit and will still get the benefit. Your first TH message will begin with whatever number your gear was plus one.

I only really have time for dynamis and my ls abyssea events.

For dynamis, I don't swap off-hand dagger as having the TP available to proc ws mobs is handy.

For abyssea, I swap out TH gear after my hit (a /ra). Yes you lose the TP, but with THF you get the TP back quick enough to not really notice it.

Just in case, be careful that you make sure to land that RA. Last I remember, it does not count your TH unless you actually land your RA. Easy enough to test if someone wants to double check.

I have TH 7 with equip. My next 'TH proc' is 8, whether I miss or not.
