Just go down there and AOE their mobs. Problem solved :D
The GM's say that any white named mob is fair game, and no one that I have ever seen or known has been banned from that tactic. unless you talk smack and harass the party and pretty much admit that you are there to screw with them, THAT's when you get in trouble with SE.
edit: typo :P

I'm sure there's something you can be doing to better your character, rather than going out of your way to *** w/ other people, and if not, go to the library and check out a *** book.

There's no reason to be needlessly abusive like that. Do you just randomly go around doting mobs in a merit party that a bard pulls early and sleeps next to the party for their next target? Do you even have any business in Korroloka in the first place other than to be a ***?
If they did something to you (i.e. bullied you when you were farming, etc), it makes sense, but to cause trouble just because you're a ***, SE calls it grief tactics, and coming from an avid SMN burner who has dealt with people who do it just to be cute or funny, GMing them does get GMs to interfere on the SMNs' behalf. We're not doing anything wrong (most of us, I won't say all ABers aren't idiots about it), we're just exping. Go diaga mobs and fight ***in Qufim Island at Pug Alley, it's just as needlessly abusive.

Again, the leechers are paying to be power levelled. This is obviously a problem with the system.
I really don't mind the smn's doing it, they need merits or EXP and it's hard to get a PT and some don't want to Solo, that isn't a problem. I'm annoyed with the leechers who CAN PAY TO BE LEVELLED UP!

How is that any different than paying a BRD to merit with? Or paying a WHM or RDM to PL a dunes party? Or any different from paying a merc shell for an item?
THOSE things are considered acceptable by the community, but paying for an AB is not? I like the double standard of this arbitrary "rule" you guys come up with.
EDIT: I'd never pay someone to let me leech in an AB. First off, I have no need to, since I AB with my social shell. Secondly, it's hard to "leech" when I have an adequate job to pull. I'm working my *** off pulling while the SMNs sit there and watch me pull. The only person who puts in work 100% of the time is the tank. Thirdly, I don't pay anyone for anything outside of a teleport. That's just me.

It's the same premise as a broke level 50 WHM in the dunes shouting that they'll PL for gil, no one ever complains about those (I know they exist, I've seen them on multiple servers) or people having bazaars offering to merc themselves out for various tasks etc.
It's just on an industrial level.
And it's not like we don't get idiots at 75 the 'legitimate' way anyway. It's very hard to stand an AB nub up against a normal nub and see any difference except the amount of time spent getting to their level.

I just find it highly annoying, that the only other way you can pay for levels, is through RMT.
You can basically buy the Maat's cap.

Yes, and that's my problem with it.
It removes any effort from the game. This game is supposed to give you a sense of accomplishment for levelling a job to 75. It wasn't supposed to be easy, and simply cost a lot.

It's like the Rare candy principle from Pokémon. Use little effort to level up, and you don't have a sense of accomplishment for reaching max level.
The game is supposed to be time consuming to level up, We've basically become Wow, with a job starting at level 65.

Breaking news : you can basically buy everything on a MMO.
Everything = time
Time = money
Everything = money
Prove me wrong.

Shitty comparison, because if you use Rare Candy in Pokémon, your pokemon do not earn any Effort Value points, therefore his stats will be lower than a pokémon who earned his level through fights.

You can buy anything. You can pay a merc shell for an item and you sit there and watch them kill it. You can pay a whole dynamis shell with AFv2 and obtain a relic. You can pay for entire parties to level you up the "legit" way.
How are those any different?
Maat's Cap? Maat's cap is hardly an accomplishment since ToAU came out. If people really wanted Maat's Cap, they could get it. It doesn't take a huge amount of time, like it used to. Level sync just makes it all the easier.
People also fail to realize that in order to obtain Maat's Cap, they have to actually defeat Maat on the original 15 jobs. Which means, after they AB all their jobs to 66+, they have to then skill up in order to defeat Maat. Maat isn't automatically going to scale down just because you're gimp in skills.
So I ask again, what is the difference between ABing and skilling up later, and leveling the "legit" way?
Also, what's your stance on someone who has Maat's Cap, but they only leveled said jobs to 66 instead of 75? They didn't do 9 levels of work. Should they be any less entitled to the Cap?

Those who pay are just getting screwed in the long run. Not hard to find volunteers to do a burn, it's just finding those that are willing to do a static so everyone can get the benefits of leeching. I like making the leecher pull so they earn their exp. They control how much exp they'll get so it can't be blamed on one person for jacking it up.

I can't really say that there is any aspect of a typical bird meritpo that has real effort involved either. Maybe the BRD/NIN, but most of us long time bards are on auto pilot by now when it comes to pulling.

I'm not going after "instant gratification" aka Maat's Cap. But I'm also not going to sit in a party, mind-numbingly bored to tears, falling asleep in my chair, when I could do something I enjoy with my LS.

Ifrit.Durai said: Can someone explain this to me? I don't understand the reason behind paying someone to tank... are they outside of the party or something?
Yes. For the actual burn, they are outside the party. The pullers and the tank are all in the same party while pulling the mobs. The tank stands in a designated spot, and the pullers bring mobs to him. The tank then uses abilities and spells to transfer hate from the puller to them. Once all the mobs' hate has been transfered, the pullers go and either pull more, or change jobs to whatever they'll leveling, and the burn begins.
The tank gets nothing from the burn. Because they are outside the party, they don't get exp/limit points.

Don't forget that they need a good ISP so they don't d/c if they have 100+ mobs.

And what would you do before SMN burning was discovered in that situation? You'd have the choice of levelling a job to do these things THAT YOU'VE EARNED, or to simply not. End game is supposed to be just that, End game. Allowing people who've never explored their jobs correctly do end-game makes for bad players.
Some jobs are worse for it, I've seen people levelling tank jobs, who still don't know how to use Cover. If they'd EXP'd that they would of learned that not doing it would result in the death of the party. In that example SMN burning made for the bad player, not the bad player SMN burning.

I'm not being narrow minded.
I can accept smn's doing this to get EXP or merits, Hell I can even understand people skipping the dunes using this method. What I can't understand is how people are backing a job getting from 1-75 by simply paying, with no effort involved.
You could draw similarities with getting gear, but It's not the same.
Gear was always supposed to buyable, Level's weren't and for good reason.

Flion, when someome comes to PL your party, do you threaten to disband if the PL does not go away? if not, then you have no standing here.
