We’ve been living a lie. Pdif cap on GKT is testing at 3.5 on the NIN forums.
What does it mean in the end?

SAM max damage potential is 6-7% weaker than sims or spreadsheets were suggesting.

So, nothing really, because there's a *** ton of 'real world' data displaying how powerful it is.

Helps explain Shining Ones performance compared to Masa in a spam situation though.

7% is a large chunk but as stated doesn’t change the fact that SAM is still a beast.

Speaking of Shining One, I tried it out in this month V1VD, was popping 50k ID which was cute and all but the whole 200~TP to WS made it so that I was FAR behind Masamune (in the exact same situation).

So from this I guess Shining One needs far more buffs to actually be able to beat any GK at all, or maybe I missed something quite big.

I used the same TP set (Ryuo one that can be found on BGwiki) as I use for Masamune and Fudo set. The difference was pretty huge. No COR was around to give SAM roll, maybe that's what broke it?

Okay, simple fix then. I was really surprised when all other GKs did so much more.

I did a fair bit of math regarding shining one 8mpulse drive in the drg guide thread. Impulse drive has a fairly unique property where it scales more between 2000 and 3000 to than it does from 1000 to 2000.

And unlike Resolution, fotia doesn't mess with it at all.

Not worth using fotia with it? what should I be using?

Forgot to save the work, but spamming ID at low TP in Full Kendatsuba+1 is looking like a really formidable option. Obviously if you happen to overflow into 2000+, put on that WSD set.

Triple Attack+Crit Rate (AND ALL THE MEVA???) in the same slots is stupid as ***. Please give to DRG.

Basically comes down to ZanHasso (which I'm 800% certain I didn't model properly) and Kendatsuba +1 being stupidly powerful.

Ejin tried spaming ID at low % with ma+crit gear and it wasnt good. It was like 30k avg I think (on Neak with full buffs including rogue roll). DPS vs holding tp dropped significantly.

Not sure if anyone tested Hachimonji, it seems to only consume 50
STP in exchange for a Multi Strike.

Tested on NIN/WHM with only STP gear and zero Multi hit:

TP/Hit =127 without any gear.[Zero STP]
TP/Hit =171 with 35 STP in gear.[No proc]
TP/Hit =127 with 50 STP in gear.[Procs DA, OAT, or Follow Up]making total TP return 254.
TP/Hit =190 with 50 STP in gear.[No proc]
TP/Hit =198 with 56 STP in gear.[No proc]
TP/Hit =205 with 62 STP in gear.[No proc]
TP/Hit =127 with 83 STP in gear.[Procs DA, OAT, or Follow Up]making total TP return 254.

DA, OAT Proc [or follow up attack] happens post 50 STP in gear, still working on the rate of consumption but from the samples I did its very high, almost 80% or something.[Need more samples, did around 1k Total hits]

Conclusion:
  • Hachimonji won't mess with your x-hit as suspected before, since it only needs 50 STP to start converting.

Unless....
  • There is a possibility to Mutli Strikes upgrade the more you have STP like every 50 STP, which is what the next test should focus on.

Personally I haven't seen any upgrades with more STP added because I couldn't reach 100 STP in gear on NIN and no COR was around.

For SAM job point gifts for the Store TP effect do the % add up all together for each gift?

So at Su5 you get 8% increase to store tp?

Anyone know if ffxi calculator was ever updated to a count for it?

Testing the new GK. It is Murasamemaru's look, and with over 100 stp I'm getting 100% DA. The downside is the 2nd swing nets 0 tp. It seems to proc after all multi-hit, meaning its a failsafe for hitting the extra white damage but not for getting tp.

edit: the initial swing nets full stp returns, with the second swing, if you don't get a multi-attack swing, nets a 0 tp return with odds increasing with STP.

the gift is equal to 2 store TP per gift, so it's +8sTP, if I remember correctly
i haven't done this calculation in forever.
unsure on calculator.

Only 4 gift but that each give 2%, So it's just 8STP a lot easily to calculate then what I was trying to do.

yeah, naked master samurai on a 450GK is ~187TP/hit which falls in line with 30 from traits, 10 from merits, 8 from gift.

I run two pairs. Path C for max zanhasso and a path A for my first 2 acc sets.

Is Fotia more accuracy then Sam Nodow+1(2)? Working on higher accuracy WS sets. I guess my real question is WSacc some how different than just normal accuracy?

Or are the higher accuracy WS sets just out of date?

Accuracy is accuracy. Sam. Nodowa came out years after Fotia; why would that be outdated? (tldr nodowa is better).

If they have a decent amount of accuracy, they're better, sure. Think austar would be able to quantify that, I definitely can't.

Ryuo legs have a ton of stp. If the valorous legs have good enough acc, could replace Kenda su3 legs for them. but still want ryuo for lower acc situation for the stp

Thank you. This guide has Fotia being used for higher accuracy WS builds, but Nodowa on the first set, so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.
