I mean... if it's so easy, go do it. Prove me wrong. Also I've soloed Gin literally 92 times to be exact, I do not remember a single time Yoran has resisted Petrify. Even in the video Yoran got petrified 2/2 times. Not a single resist.

You're probably mad I can solo content you struggle with a party of 6 lol. Picking dumbass reasons to call it out.

I actually really like this one. That or make Counters during Counterstance give CE/VE to the Monk so it can hold the target's attention, which if you're using Counterstance is probably the point anyway.

I'd like to see Footwork's duration doubled and for it to have another effect added to it. I'd like to see it give additional skillchain properties to Tornado and Dragon Kick, Darkness to Tornado and Light to Dragon. This is already a thing with Aeonic AM giving weapon skills additional properties so it's probably not hard to work in.

I am also digging AoE Chakra, with it's potency being split between the people it hits. Having a front line heal and ailment removal like that on hand would add some utility.

Impetus should not reset on a miss, rather it should -1%/-1 from the accumulated total when a miss occurs. It should still cap at 50 but with this change it's a bit more balanced.

-1%/-1 on a miss, given how rare misses are supposed to be with 99% accuracy cap, sounds a bit too optimistic and too powerful Rua.

I reckon have all the stacks completely reset for a single miss is too big of a penalty, but what you proposed is imho too much.

Solo = whatever you can do with the tools the game give you and a single account/player.

If you use multiple accounts/instances that's not solo. Sure it's a single human being but you're using multiple characters, I wouldn't call it cheating of course but it's a grey zone, it's clearly not the same as people who have a single character/account.

Trusts are HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. Useful sure, and allow to "solo" a lot of content that would be completely unsolable by many jobs, but it's still tools that the game is giving you. Not considering them is stupid.
At that point let's start to exclude JAs or Spells because they're not "solo" for someone?


Edit:
As for buffing outside, uuuh, gray zone. It's not like dualboxing, it's not like solo either.
For Omen it doesn't matter anyway, don't think there are buffs that stay while zoning that would last long enough inside for them to really make a difference.

Truthfully Monk needs a significant revamp.

I'm not fundamentally opposed to the direction SE have taken the job in recent years, I quite like the increased emphasis on SB making MNK an ideal job for controlling TP feed. The improved accuracy cap was a good fix, and we've been given some excellent gear to play with.

However.

The change to boost was colossally ill-considered, especially as the implementation was so half baked. When the change came in some of us spent hours trying to figure out precisely how it worked and what effect it had because its function was so opaque.
That's ridiculous! A JA should not be a puzzle to solve!

If they don't revert/modify this, I'll be annoyed (if not entirely unsurprised). The function of the ability is to strengthen the next attack, it shouldn't be a hard think to balance.

Chi-blast has become depreciated to being solely a means to apply Penance with. This again should be an easy fix. Make penance its own ability, and either increase potency/retain frequency of CB to revert it being MNK's sole source of ranged offence, or increase frequency/reduce potency to the point where its a viable pulling tool.

Chakra in itself is fine, a recast reduction would be nice and inline with the improved survivability of most DD's these days, but mainly the issue is the pointlessness of Invigorate.

Make Invig its own ability and make it give regain not regen. Its not inherently unbalancing given how little many h2h ws benefit from TP overflow and this could be moderated safely based on recast time.

Mantra is mostly fine, although its ability to overwrite Dark's D3 drain boost could stand to be addressed.

Counterstance should probably be revised inline with the change to Footwork. This is a difficult one due to its potential to be so impactful, so I suspect we'd be better served by removing/reducing penalties but shortening its duration rather than making it full-time but mediocre.

The rest, I can live with as-is. Obviously a small upgrade to H2H ws damage would be very welcome though.

Veret is offensively significantly above other weapons during Impetus. Without Impetus tho its much closer to Godhands.

Yeah its "cool" I suppose, but honestly I just don't feel it fits with the pace of the modern game.By the time you've built up to do that I could do the same numbers with standard TP+WS, especially with AM3 up.

Here's a Kei vid I recorded late night the other day with my 4 man squad along the poverty geo and rdm trust. Would of been faster but I died at 25% lol, formless strikes got me good there. With a real GEO and RDM it usually takes me 7-10mins to kill.

Not sure what video you was watching but there was Fullers at both 75% and 50%.

@Mrgrim Are you using 0JAwait, because I tried Kei on MNK and it was almost impossible to run away from Fullers when you needed to drop it to 75% with WS.

On that vid I did indeed used that addon, on the screenshot I posted a few pages prior I didn't. The way I got by that was by somewhat predicting when he would cast magic and get him to the trigger % while he was casting magic then run away. Wasn't easy compared to using JA0wait.

Alright, gotta admit that's funny.

Still, no excuses for the way boost works with WS. Seriously make the enhancement either time independent or add some sort of visual cue to indicate correct timing.

I mean, if it worked as either a standalone JA that deals 10-30k dmg based on time and weapon etc, as well as a combined damage WS booster, it would be pretty awesome. Reduce it to 30 seconds, and you can either use it for one huge melee round without delay, or pair the damage with whatever your WSD would have been. Be nice to crank out some 40-80k Tornado Kicks occasionally.

As of right now, it's a goofy toy. Might be the absolute first thing they fix for Monk. Boost > Counterstance def penalty > Focus/Dodge timers > Anything else is a bonus.
