My japaanese friend is saying that:
This ability is not only for magic damage its +20% damage taken and +20% to damage you do melee and WS included. It's called Reddelirium. Abosrb is not an ability its spell that is similar to aura steal, can absorb buffs from enemy :D So this new ability makes it so we take 20% More damage if we get hit, but we also deal 20% more melee and WS damage(and magic lol)?

My friend speaks very bad english tho so some details like this ability is static might be wrong ^^ It might be like WHM abilities that boost your damage IF you take damage. It's really hard to understand him right :) I think it's safer to assume that you need to take damage to boost yours. Actually when I think about it WHM's like ability would mean it will only work for WS or magic not for melee which is kinda disappointing. Sorry for confusing I am confused too lol More details: It looks like it is kinda like Auflace misery after all. Taking the damage around half of your HP (Idk if your max HP will make any difference and Galka will have harder time then Taru to achieve this) should make your damage boost by 20% but here i have no clue for how long this damage will stay up before you will need to take damage again. So they gave drk aura steal as a spell, but they still require thf to have 5/5 merits in it with a 5-minute recast timer. W/e SE, just keep giving thf abilities to every other job.
I like the sounds of it, the risk to reward thing is cool. I always thought DRK should have the largest damage output if they're risking life to do so.

Seriously though, these additions sound amazing. I really hope the Abs-atb lasts a decent amount of time. It will be pretty disappointing to have them wear mid-fight. Wonder what the duration/recast will be on that ability. Due to the substantial increase in damage taken I could see it having a decent duration but we'll see.
Wonder how long does the damage boost from Readily Rearm last. Hopefully the thing is like hasso/seigan. 20% is a pretty big boost for about 750-800 damage taken (it stats half the HP) and if it is any good, it should balance Drk with the like of War and Sam outside abyssea. Tho now I have to think of a way to take damage as early in the fight as possible.

The next thing I would ask would be for another Ice based great sword weaponskill and more non-crit scythe weaponskills. From what I've seen in the other threads about these adjustments they always say no if you ask them for it. Now DRK is for sure screwed, incoming Frozen Strike and Shadow Slash!

NO, you don't need to stay at 50% HP lol (50% HP was just an example by how much your damage is raising after taking that much of a damage and maybe how much damage you need to take to cap the boost from ability) Cerberus.Wolfshadow

W/e SE, just keep giving thf abilities to every other job. Ranger Decoy Shot (Lv. 95) Diverts enmity when launching a ranged attack from behind a party member. Break has some nice niche uses. Very good against undead when you don't have a light based sleep and also against certain NMs. I spam SSR a lot in salvage and when I get to final boss break gives some pretty nice breathing room when it starts to charm. Lands all the time and the duration is pretty fair too. Not sure what other NMs there are.
