It's the general direction they are taking the game. When everyone is running around maxed out on gear easily and there is not much else to do = dying game.

I remember this argument on private servers on other games.
"If you make everything too easy, the people get everything and quit."
"If you make it to hard they dont even bother."

So your opinion is, "who cares?" That is a great attitude.

How am I "bitching at everything"? Making the game easier isn't good, that is my opinion. This will affect EVERYONE. Competition was bad before and it will be bad again. This hurts people who want to try and do new empy weapons because no doubt there will be scrubs trying to pop those NMs for the +2's since they are way easier than current mobs. This also means you get people who are like "herp derp, i can use dis for a empy weapon for mah job!" and won't give them to people actually trying to upgrade. It will be crowded. The only saving grace is if the alternate source of empy items is good, which I doubt.

It also affects you because when the game becomes so easy that people are maxed out, a lot will start quitting (as if they hadn't already). Once more people quit it goes into a downward spiral etc. There should be a even playing field, not too hard and not too easy.

Good tank, high tier DD, best AoE burner, gryellow flexibility, can serve as a decent healer(better than anything nonWHM) on anything that isn't wtfpowerful, flexible as hell, etc.

Its just old. Every time there is some new update to FFXI the same people come out of the woodwork and scream "easy mode!"

Colibri burn? Easy mode.
Campaign? Easy mode.
Level sync? Easy mode.
Abyssea? Easy mode.
Outside abyssea exp changes? Easy mode.
Abyssea update? Easy mode +1

Yes they are moving the game forward and catering to everyone not just the hardcore HNM have to camp Faffy at 4am before work folk.

I don't care if they make it easy as long as its still fun and there is stuff to do. Having empyrean armor as the only goal in the game is pretty lame. That I'll agree with. They are adding updated content in this upcoming patch so there will be other things to do.

You want the game to be hard? Self impose your own restrictions. Don't use brews, don't level sync, don't exp in abyssea. Most people like the changes. I sincerely doubt the game as a whole will turn around and once again be hardcore. This is why I say get over it.
