u can get +1 from usual hit yeah, and probably a second, but like update say, CRITICALS are better...
Quote: - The effectiveness of the THF job trait "Treasure Hunter" will occasionally increase with each melee attack landed. Further, damage dealt with either the "Sneak Attack" or "Trick Attack" ability will have a greater likelihood of enhancing this trait. *Effect active only when main job is set to THF. Read what you just quoted.
Then read it again. Bismarck.Altar said: Read what you just quoted. Then read it again. Gilgamesh.Thedreamer

oh yeah got an error in title XD
well my bad for this... Sa/Ta bonus cap thF+ ? Damn cant edit title on this forum... Maybe he's reading
Quote: Further,(in addition,) damage dealt with either the "Sneak Attack" or "Trick Attack" ability will have a greater likelihood of enhancing this trait. Quote: Further (more) damage dealt with either the "Sneak Attack" or "Trick Attack" ability will have a greater likelihood of enhancing this trait. He wants to know if anyone has managed to get a treasure hunter bonus of more than 4 above their base TH level, through attacking and/or using SA/TA. His base is 5, and the maximum TH he has received is 9.
So the questions that need answering are whether TH9 is some kind of cap, and having more TH gear/traits reduces the amount of work done to reach this level. Or whether you can get more levels of TH with even more TH gear (ie above 9). I feel like this is worded pretty poorly though. lol... like anyone care about the TH trolling SE gave to thf...
Just trigger NM with magic, *** TH bc it worth ***. For dynamis, well i saw a difference on drop, BUT SE also said they made the AF drop better, so i doubt is about that new garbage TH. Should have see the NM we fight in abyssea saying TH @ 7 and no drop... Anyway... I have TH3 with trait. TH 4 and 5 with knife and armlets and I just hit TH10 on serket (i joined the fight at 50%).
If each additional +1 is an extra 1% drop rate to a monster then its possible in long fights to SEVERELY increase the drop rates. Zergs are good if you want to spam fights over and over but imo if you want very good drop rates then now longer fights are better. Im just wondering if there is a hardcap to TH. Particularly good for items with very low drop rates, as 1% would be bigger there. I'd say Defending Ring, but many believe it to not be affected by TH (due to it sharing the same drop slot w/ pixie earring).
Best i have had was +10, started w/ +7 tho (traits+AA+feet+TK+dread)
so a +3 boost from melee/SA/TA altho some1 on bG reported hitting+11 Just need check now if can unequip TH gear after initial hate and retain/increase TH effect w/ subsequent hits. If any1 has /c this yet plz let me know Edit: My usual typos QQ Shiva.Xellith said: Zergs are good if you want to spam fights over and over but imo if you want very good drop rates then now longer fights are better. Im just wondering if there is a hardcap to TH. Oh god... 'longer fight' Longer Fight: In dynamis: no thanks. In salvage: no thanks. Nyzle: no way. @ Sky... idk, kirin 2h long?... in Abyssea, no thanks. Asura.Shamaya said: Particularly good for items with very low drop rates, as 1% would be bigger there. I'd say Defending Ring, but many believe it to not be affected by TH (due to it sharing the same drop slot w/ pixie earring). Exactly. From my experience as THF [5+yr long] There a lots of item that seem to not be affected by TH at all, like all Rare/ex item from sky, dynamis, salvage, hnm, imo TH only affect GIL drop, everything you can trade/sell/bazzar is affected by it. Take dynamis, we did sandy run without THF once, we got same number of AF but ended with 63 single currency, normal sandy with thf drop over 250 single + 100x. I was under the impression TH Does affect R/E drops.
Odin.Venomous said: I was under the impression TH Does affect R/E drops. I would like to see strong parsing saying i am wrong, but as my experience say, i saw a MAJOR difference on every gil drop with TH, when i say gil drop, that include all item you can trade, bazzar,AH. That also seem to affect EX gear and RARE gear, but seem to have low or no effect at all on RARE/EX gear like sky Abj, Dynamis AF, ect. So hey, if i am correct, then who care about that new TH trolling SE gave us. I only can see SMALL usage like the Peiste NM that can drop 'Kukulkan's Skin'. I noticed during the last batch of Treasure Hound kupower that it stacks with TH. Never knew it worked that way until the new counter was added.

TH gear and traits boost the initial TH value. Each proc adds 1 to this value. You can hit the mob once with TH gear, then swap to DD gear, and you still retain the initial TH gear bonus. TH bonus ALWAYS procs on the first hit of an attack round, so using multihit weapons (kclub/mkris/parazonium) will not help you proc it more. Atma of Dread and Treasure hound are both TH+1. From my parsing, the rate of procs is about 3-5% from regular melee hits. Whether or not this deteriorates as the value increase, I'm not sure. I am also not sure if it is possible to proc on weaponskills. Weapons with additional effects can proc on weaponskills, however the additional effect never shows up in the chat log, so this is very difficult to test.
