I enjoy having brief moments living like a fat cat.

Bernie doesn't know what socialism is if you really questioned him.

He just thinks that people like "free stuff"

And is counting on the average voter to be ignorant as ***.

Not doing independent research.

I'm 75. I did duck and cover. I was politically aware at 7 and remember McCarthyism. I liked Ike. I probably graduated high school (at 15) before you were born.

Socialism =/= communism. For that matter communism =/= communism. I joke about being able to differentiate between seven varieties of communists by year and vineyard, but its kind of true. I used to know the difference between Trotskyisim, Maoism, Lenninism, and several other communist isms whos' names escape me at the moment.

How Are Socialism and Communism Different?

Lets start by pointing out that when people band together, by any means, to achieve a goal, its socialism. Emphasis is on the social bit. Insurance is socially spreading risk.

How about public health? Is that something we should spend tax money on or not? If so where do we stop? If not why do we even have a public health service, the CDC, the NIH, and the food and drug administration?

But its still spending public money on the public good and therefore socialism.

You didn't, I tried not to, and I don't mind.

Ultimately it's property rights. Capitalism is you owning property, Communism / Socialism is the community owning your property.

The US has plenty of land, and most of it is still cheap. There's no point in switching to socialist land ownership. Even if it was legal on a large scale to commandeer property, only a small handful of cities are so crowded and expensive that the government would have a reason to step in. Ironically enough, those same places have governments that are utterly incompetent and would only make things worse. Lose-lose.

On a side note, it's looking like Romney got his arm twisted enough to be the deciding vote in favor of a Hunter Biden probe. The poor guy is about to lose his hero status with the media.

So Bernie should get Fidel Castro to be his VP...he's dead well what difference at this point does it make !

Just like Weekend at Bernie's. He doesn't know his campaign is over...but he aint' going to stop firing up those Bernie Bros !

/yawn. Wake us up when a law enforcement agency starts investigating. Till then, nobody is gonna care what the Republicans are doing. They've got nothing on Joe Biden.

Oh, don't worry. I don't expect anything to come of this, just like I expected nothing to happen to Trump as a result of the Mueller report. Biden's an insider, so regardless of what happened he's safe. I just like seeing Romney squirm.

biden is having 10 minute speeches and still managing these mistakes, say what you want about trump but he isn't any better

The DNC and CNN have colluded to ensure that the next debate is suited to Biden‘s capabilities. Old Man Joe needs to sit and Bernie objects, but meh. The DNC has chosen its horse and doesn’t care what Sanders thinks.

Umm... the parties do select their own leaders. What exactly do you think the primaries are?

There is no law stoppung anyone, who meets the Constitutional requirements, from running for the Presidency. The Executive branch is separate and distinct from the Legislative, meaning Congress doesn't get a say in who the President is.

So, we had a Brit complaining that we aren't democratic enough, and now we have a Canadian complaining that we are too democratic. WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM US?!?

But, if we didn't, the news cycle might have to entertain real problems in the country.

Maybe, but it does give candidates plenty of time to destroy each other (and/or go completely senile).
