FiveThirtyEight has "no majority" at 3 to 5 odds for the end of the primaries as a whole. Not that I trust them anyway, but it's interesting at least. My name is Bernie and I just won Vermont ! YouTube Video Placeholder Apparently Biden mixed up his wife and his sister on stage yesterday. Maybe he thought he was in Kentucky instead of California.
Biden winning Texas last night was a huge surprise, it seems like Bernie's Fidel Castro flub combined with the Biden coalition hurt him more than previously thought. Bernie is still in the race tho, he should have the delegate lead when California is done counting, which is gonna take a while since all mail in ballots postmarked on election day are accepted.

The people that vote for Bernie are low IQ voters. That think socialism is cool.
Well, that's assuming anyone was actually paying attention. I also wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of Bernie's voter base doesn't even know who Fidel Castro is.
The people who vote for Biden are also low IQ voters. It's amazing to me that anyone could have watched the man speak in the debates and still consider him qualified to run a country.
Not supporting Bernie, but the whole thing is a mess. 4 more years of Trump. Shiva.Thorny said: » The people who vote for Biden are also low IQ voters. Just wait till you hear Trump on the debate stage, lying his *** off, completely dodging questions, running away from his tax returns..yeah, the people voting for Trump are also low IQ voters. So if the low IQ voters are voting for Biden AND Trump, who does that leave for the high IQ voters? I'm not pro-Trump, I'm just commenting that nothing the Democrats have on offering is going to dethrone him. Sanders had momentum to do it if they didn't team up against him(whether Sanders is better than Trump, who knows). Biden can't make a single point without egregious slipups and he's clearly too old to be making important decisions. I like how Vic keeps deflecting to Trump when he can't deny how horrible Biden would be in office.
When you're trying to oust an incumbent, it really helps to have a candidate that you can say is competent and ready for the job.
Just going for, "Well he can't be worse than what we have now!" doesn't instill a lot of confidence, especially when the guy doesn't know where he is half the time. Turnout looks to be saying otherwise. People are eager to vote Trump out.

FiveThirtyEight (using them since you guys think they're special or something) put out an article in 2016 showing how there is practically no predictive correlation between primary turnout and success in the general election. Yea that he is President and you are still mad. Living the past man. The two most consistent results from the exit polls have been people are waiting till the last possible moment to make their decision (terrible for Bernie) and people are willing to support a candidate they don't agree with just to oust Trump (great for any Dem). During primary season of 2016, people were excited for the election, but then the nominees turned out to be Trump or Hillary and turnout was horrible, allowing Trump to squeak by. This time around, its just about getting rid of Trump.
A week full of losers! To think of the millions of campaign money... wasted..... that is the real tragedy.
Nah. Thanks for stopping by tho!

I'm looking at the data by percentage of voting age population and percentage of eligible voters, and neither were "horrible". Democrats Good Republicans Bad Orange Man Very Very BAD! Ignoring Saevel being his typical idiot self, I seem to remember turnout in 2016 being the lowest in 20 years.

Well, it doesn't help that each of the sources that I found that said just that don't even use the same frickin' data. Basically all of those sites that I found had one major thing in common, though. They published their articles before all the votes were tallied. I don't have the time to look atm, getting ready for dyna, but based on reports at the time, turnout was very low in 2016 as compared to the Obama elections at the very least. Haven't really cared to look since 2016 tho.

Haven't really cared to look since 2016 tho. Well, 2008 turnout was huge, but that was a rare exception. Pretty much every source has 2012 with lower turnout than 2004, though. The claims about 2016 seem to be from articles released in November that made premature claims. |
