What you talking about Willis? 4 liters is just a little over a gallon. And gallon jugs are pretty common here in the US. A gallon of milk is about 16 cups or about 8 full glasses. You drink a full glass of milk with dinner and that's a little over a week. Generally speaking I can find milk at most stores that has a sell or best by date about a week ahead. Those dates aren't actual expiration dates but peak taste dates so you have a good 5-7 days after that assuming it's stored properly

1L = 1.056 quart, that's rounding error area. And US weights and measures is stuck in the 19th century. If I remember how you number centuries correctly its the 18th for you.

Because even then it should take a little over a week to expire and not sure how it is up there but generally it's hard to find that on the shelf so you'd have to go somewhere where it's really fresh so you get the full amount of time
If you wait more it might still be drinkable but it starts making those lumps and I think it's eww. We drink it all before then anyway.
