Luck of the Draw: A Corsair's Guide *NEW*

Only this community could take something so simple and convolute it this much.
Simple math problem with one single answer. becomes 5 pages of ***.
Minimum mab to do 18k to a known enemy with defined stats(static conditions). after you know that, you can use buffs to make up for things to achieve that minimum.
Weather doesnt change. Mob INT doesn't change. Whether there is an idris geo or a solstice geo is irrelevant. what amount of cor roll+ you have is irrelevant. (day of the week will change, assume neutral) the answer will always be exactly the same (give or take a minuscule amount)

I think Afania, that tons of people in the internet have hard time understanding the concept of sharing knowledge in free guides as you explained. So I'm not really surprised that we have people like Eiryl demanding better quality or more information. People are spoiled and just forget, that they should be grateful for receiving any free help.

More like you're so incredibly far from having a basic understanding of what you're talking about and asking for that we have no choice but to think you have a serious case of mental illness.

Jk, I think most people that read these forums have already thought that for a long time

No. Your question is just essentially useless.
Since you have at least 2 variables. MAB and AGI (in reality there is also WSD), how would you weight in how much AGI and how much MAB you should take as baseline for your answer.
In example, let say its 300 AGI and 200 mab at 3000TP (numbers totally made up). Would that be a good answer? No. Because 305Agi and 198mab could work too or 320 Agi and 190MAB etc. So person with 190 mab and 300 AGI could improve both AGI or mab to get to said minimum and having just one simple answer like you demand would only show him to improve mab by 10, while it isn't the only option he has. In the end person building a one shot statues COR would need to check options available to improve his gear and calculate if that much AGI or that much MAB or that much WSD would be enough.

you're the only one requesting it - or are we to assume you're doing it for the poor homeless corsairs that are too uninformed to ask themselves (because your heart's somehow grown ten times size today)?

I ALWAYS ask on behalf of other people. I don't do content.
You. Yes, all of "you" should be a lot more interested in helping each other out if you're going to post in a "guide"

I think it's silly to make a guide for one content one campaign anyways. Next we will see questions like "minimum gears to do Omen?" "Minimum gears to do SR?" "Minimum gears to do ambu E?" There won't be an end, while derailing from the ultimate purpose of the guide: "How to get good".

You're stating that you're asking a question at the behalf of the community. What you're actually doing is asking a question for yourself that can have no concrete answer, asserting that it can have a concrete answer, and doing so in an increasingly stupid way. People already gave you the best answer you can get - Go measure their stats and use a spreadsheet. You just don't like it. If you think it's an over complicated answer, you don't understand the question (as others have already pointed out.)

"Should", didn't get the reason why people write guides in FFXI isn't it? Most people don't write guides because they want to become a saint or Jesus Christ. Most people write guides because they have passion on certain job, and would like to see community know more about the job with knowledge shared, so people dont misunderstand how a job can be played, thats it.
If someone want to be some kind of saint in ffxi comminity adore by everyone else for decades they can write their own guides for everybody. For me I ask nothing of sort, personally.

When you consider that the "starting" set is generally going to include some herc pieces, and those are going to be pretty far across the board, it can be really hard to say what exactly it will take. If you go doomsday, what augs you get there matter. What access you have to main/offhand weapons will matter. When it comes down to it, there's not a straightforward answer that is going to scale across everything, and if you tell people hit this much agi and that much mab, and you're good and then they use a different weapon and miss, welp.
Really Eiryl, though, you could be that guy. Go work the spreadsheet, figure it out, and share it. Pretty easy.
And if you aren't contributing to the guide, a recipient of the guide, and you can't work that spreadsheet, then why the hell are you in this thread at all? Other than the obvious of you clearly live on these forums and can't imagine something else to do.
Maybe quit criticizing those who've contributed to the guide when you're doing not a damned thing but complaining/arguing about others not helping more than your perceived minimum, when your own contribution is zero.
For my part, this guide, and by extention, Afania, Snaps and Arislan have helped me from the point of starting out with COR after returning to my now BiS COR, and you've not done *** in that regard.

You're not going to become a famous saint by writing a guide regardless lmao. No one writes these things for fame, and if they do they aren't doing it right. Yeah, some people will know your name. It even bleeds over into other games sometimes. But largely, you're still nameless, because these aren't billboards to boost your own signal, they're notice boards to help guide ppl in the right direction.

What I mean is, people seem to have unrealistic pov on what a job guide is, lol. Some demand text to be politically correct(see first few page), other demand it to be helpful to everybody or else it's selfish. As if the existence of job guide itself serve a holy purpose of helping countless poor cor understand if they are ready for dyna or not.
Job guide is just that, a collection of gear/ja information that tells people how to get good for that specific job. It doesnt serve more purpose than that. If it doeant cover the important info users look for, such as minimum gear required for X content, they can look elsewhere, ask for advice in thread, ask pt lead, or whatever. Its not the end of the world.
I was somewhat shocked to see Eiryls pov on it, what a lesson.

From my experience 1300ish tp is enough to 1 shot wave 2 status with r15 dp.
Are you including TP bonus in the 1300ish tp for 1 shot? because i generally go right at 1k tp for wave 1 and 2 with tp bonus earring and do about 26kish depending on daggers set, and ive been doing this before augmented DP, hell i think i was even doing this with Molybdosis by accident once in jeuno wave 1 and still was doing ok (20kish i think, it was awhile ago).

Was agreeing with you! There has never and will never be a 100% comprehensive guide to most jobs, and expecting one is just setting up for failure. If people have individual questions about specific things that's what the "Post Reply" button is for. Though beginner sets are a good thing to have in there. A lot of stuff should be fairly self explanatory to a point when you're low item level though, there is a very clear progression curve up until you start dealing with random augments and augment paths.
Asking any 1 person to answer every question is crazy, these are community projects.

I do over 30 to 33k at 1300 tp if I remember correctly, so I guess I may be over tping too.

You shouldn't really care. Either he is trolling, or he is a moron.
That's probably the 1st time I read such non-sense with so much obstinacy. Even extremist politicals can't beat him at this level of stupidity.

Jesus..
General sidenote on the guides : If ever authors edit them, I'd say a good thing would be to rank the +2 version of the AF/Relic, I've always struggled with the +2 version, if they worth it or not, where do they stand in the gear hierachy, etc.
I got the feeling it's either go for +3 or dismiss but well..
