Killed Unicorn first.
Dullahan did a warm up? Got the message: "The Boss begins to emit a noxious Miasma"
I did a light SC (not sure if this matters) and it said The miasma dissipates but its rage is begining to boil over.
Then he did Nether Castigation for 8kish damage. over

Dullahan had a KO move when he used the message "The boss begins to emit a noxious Miasma" we thought it was the same as the other one so we stopped all dmg, turns out it was just a KO move. Took a 20+ secs for it to go off.
Does stopping all dmg lower the damage from one of the other moves?
hmm dont think we ever saw the miasma move. saw him charge up and boil over then hit us with nether castigation for a ton of dmg. like 40K each... NIN survived with migawari though. and there did seem to be a range on it... maybe 20+ Just eyeballing it, the last time he trashed us, it feels like we did roughly 38K dmg to it fro the point he boiled over to then and we maybe took about double that between us when he castigated us. If he boils over, stop all dmg for a period of time? then continue?
We got him to 30% on VD our first try. Killed the unicorn first. Unicorn seemed evasive af. Dullahan less so but still somewhat evasive.

I think there is something to break the bosses def, although you can zerg threw it, seems rather high. The KO move and boiling move are the tricks im assuming
Sounds like it could be something like:
Miasma message; all out damage (or possibly light SC) until rage message
Rage message: stop damage until low damage Nether Castigation?
Then it probably repeats at some point.

I am wondering the same, Nether Castigation does damage based off of the amount of damage he takes during the ready part, sounds very similar to beefed up version of the Noahionto move the NM's have
Niohonto (at least from Crom Dubh) is just a super powerful magic attack (~4000-5500 with 0 MDT, depending on Infernal Bulwark status); it's not like Pain Sync.

welp saw the miasma move lol didnt notice the msg until it KOed us didnt feel like there was a ton of time between that msg and the KO.
migarawi can block Boil attacks, but not the miasma
anyone try sentienal scherzo and see if it lowers the attack of Nether Castigation?

our brd used on our pld and pld still got 1 shot, so i'd have to say no, it doesnt work

Have not tried new Ambuscade yet, but I am curious whether the method which you take out the unicorn affects the boss (like last month's). Can you break the unicorn's horn? If so, does it have any bearing on the boss?

The bad part is we are now seeing the results of SE not fixing SMN sooner rather then later, people who rode the SMN AC train are now used to capping out all their Ambu points in a day or two and view any other progress as too slow.

Agreed Saevel. Last month was practically NO SMN ALLOWED, and many of those same players didn't even bother to do it. When I formed groups, I got tells from people who asked what my strategy was. When I told them the average fight took 10-14 minutes, they went missing.
Funny how empty ambuscade becomes when no smn strat is allowed... People have gotten so used to 'not doing work' that when there is "work" inovolved, it's out of sight, out of mind. Lazy Fcks.

did they swap the total hallmarks awards to salvage gear yet
won an Easy with cor smn smn smn pup pup, pups take turns alternating tanking roles when miasma or Boil move 1shots all the pets. however the fight took 19min which is pretty ***tbh

Aren't people bored yet, whinging about smn? Everyone has options for these situations: Level smn, level a ranged job or sit out like the lazy smn's do. Some of us had smn levelled ages ago and if the situation arises, then damn right we are gonna take advantage. If smn isn't useful then we go a different job, but we dont complain that another job is better suited. Play your own job and stop trying to get other jobs nerfed !!!
