Yeah clint, I hijacked tf out of your idea xD
Actually I like yours better, different instance so we're not shitting up the catch-up content for new/returning players.
They could put Ambu +3 Armor in it!

They could put Ambu +3 Armor in it! There's a new item "Orvail box key" in the login campaign rewards. I'll guess it has something to do with the new adoulin nms.

The NMs could be to upgrade Adoulin gear like Orvail to +2, or if they were smart about it, introduce a way to seriously upgrade the already existing Delve equipment. This would give decent incentive for players to do that content again.
Or just remove the janky 45-day lockout from Odyssey and make it easier to obtain R0 Odyssey armor.
Oh I forgot, we must make a new player's life miserable for at least a few months, to see if they're masochistic enough to stick around. Cerberus.Kylos said: » The NMs could be to upgrade Adoulin gear like Orvail to +2 This is what I thought it could be, new Bayld sets or something. This is what I don't agree with, though. They're introducing new NMs to allow new players to upgrade older sets, but they have to do older content (Delve) to get the points to buy they sets in the first place before they can upgrade? The hell? That sounds worse than doing seg farming to get points to do Gaol to unlock v0 ody gear... I have been away from the forums for a while and came back to read the last ~10 pages of Odyssey complaints. I just wanted to chime in with my 2c that Odyssey is the best content in the game, currently. It's the highlight of my week going up against a foe that isn't a guaranteed win every time.
You could easily just go fail a master trial if that's what gets you excited.

Carbuncle.Nynja said: » Does the 45 day lockout block Gaol access? A new character COULD farm Sheol A in those 45 days. You can enter sheol A, but can you gain any segments without first clearing it? You cannot clear it, the ROE will not complete. I don't actually remember if you get segments from killing anything though. Probably, but it's peanuts. You can gain miniscule segments pre 45 days. It's what a player should do but it's pointless.
Might get 1k if youre a supertryhard wearing RSE+1 or Ambu+2 You won't find 6 to slog A for 5k party runs That's why A should be nerfed 90% to make that work. It's silly as ***to try and pre gain segments as it is. Ambu starts at 109. HTMB start at 113. Sheol A mobs start at 119 for 5 whole segments. And they have higher stats than sweetwater mobs that are 129. I think they're stronger or as strong as sortie A mobs too. Objectively the floor is too high. (the ceiling too) You know what else youll get?
Lustreless scales Lustreless scales sell for anywhere between 200k to 600k depending on server Guess what else new players need? Gil Not everyone wants to buy gil and put scraps on your table *** pendejo (Someone quote this so he reads it pls, youll be perma in my good books, even galkas) Asura.Eiryl said: » You could easily just go fail a master trial if that's what gets you excited. I am very much still improving my characters. Challenging content with meaningful rewards is a much better option, in my eyes. Perhaps I will go after master trials after I finish my remaining V25 fights. They miss everything and hit for nothing. You can land sleep on pretty much every mob. They don't start becoming an issue until like A3+ Carbuncle.Nynja said: » You know what else youll get? A7 mobs are actually kinda strong. There's not a single 119 player (the ones you're referring to) that can clear that floor I've never done Odyssey period, you know this. An entrance isn't "doing it".
Just more to prove the point. Shoel A is a failure of content. Its not even you being ambitious, just be saying random ***and don't know the details. Lol
![]() There is no starter group hitting 5k, even 3k in Sheol A. They will get mopped on A3 and likely time out before reaching the A7 goal. I don't even think they math checks out to get that many segments. NMs give like 150-200 across the zone. How many Halos would you have to kill plus NM Junctions plus Nostos Groups to pull 5k? Probably even impossible for a good group, the numbers just aren't there. I've been doing B while I build towards enough aurums to floor their cost. I do something like 3 halos and a few monster group and popped an aurum, 2 chests, and 2 coffers this morning. Maybe got 500 points at the exit? (update: 745 today)
My aurum cost is only down to 15, so I have a few more runs left! After doing Nyame to R25, though, I lazily need the segments again. No starter group is doing even half of that.
Sheol A has piss poor segments. Not that I disagree with your statement, but weren't you claiming a few days ago that A/B segments are fine and need no boost?
While me and other people where claiming that it's absolutely fine and actually obvious that A/B give way less segments that C, but that the gap is a bit too large and should be reduced at least slightly? Not willing to sound mean or anything, just found it a bit funny xD I Apologize! Asura.Sechs said: » weren't you claiming a few days ago that A/B segments are fine and need no boost? Not quite. Dodik said: » You asked if the situation would be improved if seg rewards for A/B were increased. I said that I think seg rewards for B are fine. B is fine, IMO. A is too low if you're looking for segments, and other than for capping MM and coffer costs, I wouldn't bother spamming it. Not mean at all haha, I welcome being called out on anything. Asura.Eiryl said: » I've never done Odyssey period, you know this. An entrance isn't "doing it". Just more to prove the point. Shoel A is a failure of content. We all seen when you died on 1F of sheol A lol Asura.Sechs said: » Not that I disagree with your statement, but weren't you claiming a few days ago that A/B segments are fine and need no boost? Just from looking at SE's numbers through the charts on BG wiki, the segments earned per zone x zone x mob level are inconsistent. ![]() A7 level 131 mobs net 17 segments per kill, but the same 131 mobs in C2 net 27 segments per kill. There are no 131 mobs in B, but it would net about 20 segments per kill (you're stuck with either 19 segments on B4 at level 130 or 21 segments on B5 at level 132). However, B4/5 azre the most inconvenient floors on the map (you can't warp to either, and have to run through a goddamn maze to get there), so getting there for a comparable level-to-segments ratio is terrible design. There are no real good starting camps on Sheol B to make Segment farming worth it. Maybe warp to B6 and clear that floor then run to 5 and touch goal, but that assume a new group all have the B6 translocator to warp. They might not. On C1 (level 129), there are 6 mob groups, plus the NM and the halo. Just clearing the Nostos alone nets you 1500 points. The Halo will give like 450, and the NM like 250 or so. You also will get about 22 Izzat, which translates to about an extra 200 segments (assuming no box discounts in thatgroup). Even if a new group only clears C1 for the entire 30 minutes, they walk out with more segments than they would doing Sheol A and clearing like 4-5 floors. The map for Sheol C is also more straightforward than the other two, which makes darting to the goal way simpler. This is why I said this several days ago: Lakshmi.Buukki said: » The problem is A is incredibly easy and beginner friendly but nets nothing for points. B would be ideal but it's a fustercluck. The only zone designed properly with any straightforward intent is C, which conveniently nets the most points. It's no wonder every player would rather prefer C to A/B. Recommending anyone do Sheol A or B for segments is a complete joke (do it for money/mm and get a miniscule amount of segments in the process like Byrth, yes). But even the numbers SE put out don't correlate to each other. At the very least, mob levels across zones should net the same exact amount of Segments, because why would a player fight a monster of the same strength in a lower zone for less segments when that monster in C gives like 10 more points and it's just as strong? |
