Is tonight the night they recalibrate WS mods to make them all a little more competitive with Merit WSes?
Kinda wanna see if they do anything to Fudo/Kaiten, YGK, Ageha, and Namas.

Honestly, Fudo/Kaiten and Namas are all fine, Shoha is unlikely to get any adjustment and doesn't REALLY need one. YGK and Ageha need to have their Macc seriously reworked, I could care less if they do damage, I want their utility.
can anybody tell me which pieces of AF1 are worth upgrading?
Tried to look through some of the sets posted, only piece people are using are feet, and sometimes body? D: Fairy.Ghaleon said: » can anybody tell me which pieces of AF1 are worth upgrading? Tried to look through some of the sets posted, only piece people are using are feet, and sometimes body? D: Basically the only piece that's required is hands, the rest are situationally the best in slot. SAM gets GOOD use out of basically every piece of 119 AF and relic. So don't think that you can upgrade 1-2 pieces and get by fine. Odin.Jassik said: » Fairy.Ghaleon said: » can anybody tell me which pieces of AF1 are worth upgrading? I understand that, but I just came back from a 1year break and decided to start with AF1 upgrades before moving onto Af2, so was asking the tldr; of whats basically necessary upgrades in terms of AF1 tldr; which upgrades should i shoot for first? Hands > body > legs > feet > head assuming you're NOT upgrading any relic until you're done with AF. That is subject to change depending on what, if any, skirmish/delve gear you have and what GK you are using.

Probably won't touch relic till I'm done with AF (for the most part) currently using sparks Polearm with 4hit/stardiver until i can turn in my 300 plutons for 119 amano. (npc won't talk to me lol) that being said i have almost no adoulin gear at all :/ Fairy.Ghaleon said: » Odin.Jassik said: » Hands > body > legs > feet > head assuming you're NOT upgrading any relic until you're done with AF. What delve content would GK+Yoichi be better than Koga?(Apex arrow 5/5 as well) Buffs would be limited to 4-5songs, no cor or geo generally.

I made amano before tsurumaru was a thing, plus If item level ever goes up in the future, amano will probably have another trial to follow, where as tsurumaru will just be left in the dust lol. if you're just returning and get your hands on Tsuru (which is honestly pretty darn easy at this point) to use in the mean time, you should take advantage. 4 hit Tsuru builds basically flatten 5 hit amano builds in Ionis zones unless your accuracy is pretty far under cap. Tsuru will be your ideal weapon in Adoulin for the foreseeable future.

This actually brings up something similar that i wanted to ask, is namas worth it on yoichi for sam? or should i just go for sam 119 bow and call it a day? lol Fairy.Ghaleon said: » Ragnarok.Drewbles said: » Odin.Jassik said: » if you're just returning and get your hands on Tsuru (which is honestly pretty darn easy at this point) to use in the mean time, you should take advantage. 4 hit Tsuru builds basically flatten 5 hit amano builds in Ionis zones unless your accuracy is pretty far under cap. In the handful of situations where SAM is present and buffs are sufficient/piercing weakness, Yoichi is KING. Outside of those fairly uncommon situations... you'd want to have a R15C Cibitshavore in that slot simply for it's augments. Koga isn't on top as much as people say, either, but if you had to have one or the other, Koga > Yoichi in most situations where you'd bring SAM. Phoenix.Dramatica said: » What delve content would GK+Yoichi be better than Koga?(Apex arrow 5/5 as well) Buffs would be limited to 4-5songs, no cor or geo generally. I'm not sure that, outside of Ceizak Delve, GK+Yoichi is ever king without full alliance buffs? Others might be better equipped to answer that, because I'm not done Yoichi yet. Using rank 15 Cibi and 5/5 Apex, that's the only place I find bow to be relevant for SAM... we bring all rangers to Yorcia. Kamhir maybe due to need for mixed damage? You'll get a lot of mileage out of ranger in today's FFXI; it's required for one Delve and it dominates AA/DM. I was actually thinking about picking up ranger after finishing gearing up sam/cor
Probably going to do a 2nd relic as well, atm a tossup between anni and yoichi. so if i pull out yoichi on rng i won't get laughed at? lol. Offline

So, post-update, what are the scenarios in which SAM would still use Shoha over Fudo? Are there any at all?
Also, where does this put Kaiten? Is Amano once again a contender? We need to see the ftp change 1st; but so far it's still shoha under uncapped attack, fudo when capped, bow ws when level correction apply
ScaevolaBahamut said: » Also, where does this put Kaiten? Is Amano once again a contender? Until they add fTP scaling to relic weaponskills, Kaiten is still very difficult to use since every point of overflow favors Fudo. The aftermath is even less of an advantage for Kaiten now due to imminent TP gain changes. Sad part is it wouldn't even have to be a ton of fTP; because Kaiten already gets a 40% bonus for being attached to Amano, you'd only need a 1-1.5 fTP increase between 100 and 300 TP for it to become attractive. If the fTP change at the 200TP point for Fudo is moderately high, I'm not sure that Shoha will have very much use anymore unless you're severely attack starved. Yeah we'll need to see the ftp, outside of koga AM3 fudo will prolly be the ws to use(unless shoha get a bigger ftp boost than fudo) Rana could be interesting if they ever add mobs that are impossible to cap acc on with traditional buffs :D_
Maybe they will, we're getting so much we can only hope next tier of content will be very hard; I can't wait for July update teasing to see adoulin end game content!

i was updating my gearsets the other day, and I started to wonder about sakonji domaru+1, and more specifically why it doesn't get used more. As a ws piece, it double str of phorcys with a respectable 15 acc/att, not sure much comes close to the WSD on phorcys. The main draw for me though was the saveTP present on the enhances overwhelm augment. this makes for a possible 40tp return on every ws, meaning you need a mere 34stp for a 3hit build on tsurumaru. I was wondering if sakonji +1 is that far behind on parses for WS or is it a feasable piece? (really don't want to hold my breath hoping they'll 119 NNI gear)
