I'm kind of new to these forums and I realize the skirmish 2.0 augs thread would be a better place for this, but for your questions about the max song casting time on gendewitha pieces

In my experience 5% seems to be the cap for song casting time, I could be wrong but I doubt it goes higher than 5.

Thanks for the proof! I've never seen this in person or on bg's site. That was a +2, yea?

Yup, both of those were +2s. I wouldn't mind trying for better augs(if it goes higher than 5%) but that augmenting system is for the birds.

Well, about the pdt3% vs 4%. If it's anything like melee augments, I have seen a ton of otronif pieces with 2 double attack(which is cap) and a mixture of 3/4% pdt. Not saying you shouldn't try to hit higher song casting time, just that it's unlikely that it goes higher than 5%.

so what I gathered itemwise from the update was:
-Carnwenhan is best mainhand debuff piece. If you're on a DW sub, offhand a 99 Twash or Mandau for maximum debuff effectiveness?
-Brioso Roundlet and Cuffs for Paeon and Lullaby, respectively
-Brioso Justaucorps is the best body piece for Debuffing
-Brioso Cannions are the best leg piece for Debuffing
-Brioso Slippers useful for the songs you can sacrifice the 1 stat boost for from AF3 feet? (ie, light based songs Ballad, Paeon, Mazurka, Hymnus).
-Legato Dagger seems interesting, a nice ghetto Carn alt to mainhand for buffs. You could also offhand it with Carn!

Anyone else see anything?

Roundlet for paeon is pretty much a useless burden on inventory. Justaucorps has more Macc but the Hongreline isn't that far behind and offers +12 sec longer duration. Cannions are a minimal improvement on fully augmented bokwus slops but probably worth getting if slops can be removed from inventory. Hands and feet are the only pieces I see worth getting along with that Legato Dagger. Also Ovate Rope is an option for waist debuff set.

Camaraderie harp does NOT stack with Daurdabla. Not that I expected it to but I was hopeful.

Seems like similar to the test server Clarion call+Gjallarhorn won't let you go from 4 songs to 5 songs without using Daurdabla.

Anyone have any good BRD melee setups? For fodder like Dynamis and also things like Delve.

What I came up with currently:

ItemSet 316032

w/Ionis for delve content (Better acc items but should be ok with madrigral/sushi):

ItemSet 316036

Also, when dual wielding, only the magic accuracy from the main hand will count.

Optimal for things like Dynamis
ItemSet 289363

DW+3/Crit+2 on Osode. I have MP merits, so I use Oneiros Ring, but otherwise K'ayres is next best. If you used your Osode for other merits, then Genewitha is probably best bet.

I'd assume for things like Delve, Madrigal/Ionis/Sushi would be enough for Acc(unless you're just starting Delve and using a non-SoA weapon whilst farming plasm for one) but otherwise some tweaks in this set like Letalis Mantle, Mars's Ring, and DW set earrings would help it.

Used my set number two in Delve on Tojil/Shark zone with the exception of wearing bokwu gloves aug on path C. Was capped acc with one madrigal SV'd and sole sushi. Dealt around 40~60k dmg total during the fight, not bad for a BRD! Better than sitting back and doing nothing lol.

Tried on bee and had a good 80%+ acc (didn't see exact amount because I didn't notice sushi wore so it skewed it lol.) Did around 40k ;o

With new gear not sure which is better for non very evasive stuff:

ItemSet 316032

or replace jubbah with Espial gamibson. 3% DA vs 10% crit dmg, 12 STR, 27 Dex 6 acc and enhance survivability. 24% haste w/gambison, 25% w/ionis. Or could replace belt with Cetl and be fine. Haven't ran through spreadsheet so not sure. Only thing I do know is you will look ugly as *** either way, need some .dat swaps for sure lol.

ACC Set(Delve MB/New BCNM AA fights.)

ItemSet 316036

Can swap belt with anguinus w/ionis.

Ran this through the spreadsheets earlier on Hydras and Delve Fodder, didn't run it on anything like Tojil yet so I'm not sure what Acc swaps would be best for something like that.. This set seemed to be best for both instances of what I ran though, no changes needed (As I said in my earlier post, obv K'Ayres over Oneiros if you're unable to utilize it)
ItemSet 289363

DW+3/Crit+2 on Osode. I'm thinking if you don't have a max Osode then I think this is probably best(only ran it through Delve). DW Osode is a really insurmountable body though.

ItemSet 316830

This will look really ugly though <.<

Might run it through on Delve bosses again later for relevant Acc swaps. Otherwise both sets were generally okay with Madrigal and Ionis.

Hm where does that hat come from in the first set? Let me know when you run it through, I doubt I'll care enough to try for an aug osode unless its really that much better.

Osode is more of a luxury, I think it had a lead by about 5 DPS avg? The gap was a lot wider when it first came out compared to combinations with other bodies. I have no idea where Lithelimb Cap comes from yet :( no info on it either, it's definitely not sparks from RoE.

So with the GearSwap (the spellcast replacement available now) any one who really knows LUA and BRD well want to be responsible for a new centralized "Master BRD" file - would be good to sticky to this guide and in time save the XI community all using different ***.

Be sooo nice to finally not have to not sit in song cast gears for ages after the songs have been sung ...and always get into your midcast gears for those reductions!

So I know gearswap will make it so you can swap gear while in menus and stuff but is there anything else about it that you're referring to?

From what i been told on Windower's chat room all lag from it will be gone and you can do stuff like swap back to idle set IMMEDIATELY after playing songs - which would be a huge benefit to today's Brd.

I can see it reducing lag because it is a lightweight program and it is(I think) a packet based program so it can know when you are done and trigger stuff so there would be less delay between finishing and your next set getting geared.

I don't know how long it'll take me to move over though. I've invested a ton of time in my xmls and I know very little lua.
