about the haidate.. if you notice his mp drastically went down.. i'm fairly certain he just changed jobs 753->140ish is too much of a drop for just unequipping gear
It was 596 to 140, we don't know what the stats are on that Greatsword (do we?) or the armor he was wearing. HQ Zenith gear itself gives 55 mp per piece, the armor he was wearing could give large boosts to MP.

he most definitely did about 1.8k dmg with that Lunge. it wasn't 5 runes either, more like 2-3. I can't read japanese so idk which element it was or exactly how many he used, so just judging by animations.

Can only have 3 runes max according to website.

Edit: I believe it was a Fire Lunge on an Ice based Careening Twitherym (It looks like a snowflake).

They're butterflies, so they're likely wind-based. Well, they're likely not ice, at least.

actually...RNF will be more of a support for RDM than anything if the elemental resistance down ability is really potent....cause i suspect you wont be totally amazingly invincible in adoulin...Sabo Slow II + Carnage and then longer duration paralyze GO! But yea...you know...RDm is dead...

I find it interesting the Luopan blew up for 1100 damage! Depending on how -ra spells are implemented it might even be a viable DD :D

Ah true, it does look like the Snowflake is the luopan.

Yeah, goodbye to the tanking/elemental add effect/AoE magic defense role I'd take a RDM in a group for.

This is a mite-bit off topic, but its related to those videos.

In the video, in the clock UI, there's the kanji for earth over the dot that shows the color for the day. Is this something new to SoA/new UI we've been hearing about, or is this a JP-client only thing? It'd be kinda nice for colorblind players. =/

It's jp only players I believe.

I guess the NA team decided that since most people couldn't' read it it would confuse more people than just making it the color. Even though symbols aren't really hard to memorize.

According to Spira (here) the stream that happened this morning was just a rehearsal for the real stream that's coming this week. Not sure how set in stone this is or anything, just passing it along.

RDM already does those, just without the aoe part though the player base did ask SE for that. Actually nearly all the ideas being implemented in both RNF and GEO are from suggestions on "how to unf*ck RDM". RDM used to tank quite a bit of things until SE nerfed the ***out of CE from their spells. Against monster / nms with magic attacks of a predominate elemental type a RDM can take nearly no damage (Aegis PLD still better though). Natural MDBIII + MDT gear + Shell + more MDB gear + 150 magic evasion makes you kinda of impervious to anything that's not blatantly cheating. Of course this suffers the same problem as Aegis PLD tanks, the RDM survives the Neo Bhamut Omega Zero Soul Crusher Wave Motion Cannon of death yet nobody else does, which makes it impractical. So instead throw more DD at it, rely on stuns and PDT/MDT gear sets to stay alive and kill it before it's AI can resort to the wave motion cannon of soul crushing doom.

Cool stuff but that sphere coming out of the GEO is drivin' me nuts! Hope we can turn that off.

I don't know why, but I am getting that "reading while in the car" feeling from having the geo-sphere thing constantly all over the screen. It obscures the view, which makes you focus too much on what is behind it. I don't like it either... It messes up your depth perception or something when its swirling around the character like that. I am freaking serious. Better have an option to tone that effect down or I probably will not be playing this. I can't believe this is the first time in my WHOLE life that a game has made me feel queezy. Good job SE...

This gets 2 thumbs up for hilarity.

Also, the stream seemed very boring to me too. Loved the Geo spell graphics, but didn't see enough R.Fencer. What was with the MNK being there?

Colonization refers to the amalgam of pioneering activities that take place on the Ulbukan continent. A colonization rate exists to measure how much of the wilderness has been settled, and it fluctuates depending upon how often pioneers fulfill the various coalitions' assignments.

Myriad benefits accompany the rate's rise, such as the ability to pass quickly and unscathed through the jungle and the luxury of being able to gather resources with ease. Rumor has it that over time, it may even be possible to weaken the influence of certain ominous forces that stalk the lands...

Frontier bivouacs serve as intermediate bases of operation once the colonization movement has gained steam

Six public enterprises called "coalitions." provide specialized support for the many individuals engaged in the colonization effort.

To take advantage of their unique services, however, one must first register with the Pioneers' Coalition. Any prospective pioneers making the trek to Adoulin would do well to seek out a sign emblazoned with a shovel.

The more each pioneer contributes to the colonization of Ulbuka, the more services each coalition will offer--including a dazzling array of heretofore unseen equipment.

The higher in rank they rise, the more services they provide and the more opulent their buildings become!

The leaders of the various coalitions are dubbed "maesters," and each one oversees a different aspect of the colonization movement.

Every one of them also heads their own branch of the Twelve Orders, so the talents they display in their respective fields are assuredly unparalleled

Extremely earnest and--some would say--a bit too eager to inundate her subordinates with assignments, this cheerful Mithra is known for her strong sense of obligation and the tough love she shows for those in her charge. She oversees the pioneering effort and the city's agricultural interests.

Pioneers' Coalition Maester

Cool, calm, and collected, Reginald's habit of keeping quiet has only fueled rumors that he has developed some sort of secret technology. Though his past may be shrouded in mystery, the many feats he has performed while monitoring the inspection and distribution of goods throughout the continent are very much public knowledge.

Couriers' Coalition Maester

Not just one of the prettiest faces in all of Adoulin, her powers of deduction and analysis are also unrivaled. She is in charge of surveying Ulbuka's treacherous wilds as well as conducting sundry forms of research, which perfectly complements her logical nature and insatiable curiosity.

Scouts' Coalition Maester

Though her Elvaan upbringing may make some of her quips seem a tad on the wry side, Flaviria's sense of humor has come to be renowned throughout the continent. She may look like she is off in her own world at times, but do not let your guard down, lest you become the butt of her next joke. Recreation refining is her game, and she has yet to lose at it.

Mummers' Coalition Maester

Not many Galka would spend their every waking moment in pursuit of criminals and fighting the constant threat of raids from the monstrosities that populate the jungle, but that just goes to show how deeply devoted Gratzigg is to protecting the continent he grew up on. He is the be-all end-all of security and defense in Adoulin.

Peacekeepers' Coalition Maester

Colonizing a primordial continent such as Ulbuka poses challenges that will test even the most experienced adventurers.
For this reason, many who brave the wilderness have begun banding together and have developed a new style of battle.
Any badge-carrying pioneer can join in the quest to clear the harrowing wilds of danger.

Even those without a party can jump into the fray and assist those already dueling the forces of nature! One for all, and all for the continent!

Bushwhacking through a verdant jungle or over treacherous landscape can be a grueling experience in and of itself, so what happens when the landscape fights back? In this type of reive, you'll not only need to overcome hordes of bloodthirsty beasts, but also the terrain they're protecting!

Adoulin's best defense is a strong offensive push in this type of battle, as pioneers work together to raze the broods that spawn Ulbuka's multifarious menaces.

Not much is known about Naakual behavior, but as is oft said, experience is the best teacher.
Pioneers will be asked to search out these ferocious fiends and combat them in their natural habitats, which--though a huge disadvantage--makes the thrill of the hunt that much more intense.

honestly the new systems look like theyre going to be fun as ***, and the fact that some of them seem to be join and play whenever you want deals instead of requiring an alliance to do it is incredibly attractive
