Mahatma Slops Vs. Jet Seraweels

I know a lot of people will say go with the Slops, or that the Seraweels are gimp, but honestly, is the 1 less INT and MIND really 'THAT' bad? I'm considering the Seraweels instead because I'd really like to add to my MP pool as I don't have that much as it is. I think I have a pretty decent amount of INT and the extra 1 from the Slops won't really be that huge of a difference. Thoughts?

Just buy the NQ Errant if you don't want the extra 1 INT MND. Spend the extra 200k on something better than +15MP.

It's a luxury, as most HQ items are, but Scuzzelbutt's right. Jet and Mahatma cost about the same here, if you're going to pay that much might as well buy the item you'll get (slightly) more bang out of anyway. 15MP isn't really anything to speak of on it's own, get a max MP set for your initial nuke and swap into your regular gear when you fall below the MP that set has.
EDIT: 100k difference on your server but quite honestly Jet's got nothing on Mahatma except 15 MP and not being ugly >.>

In all honesty, BLM is an expensive job as I am sure you will find out if you have not already.

And as Nightfyre pointed out the 100k difference will only be a minor cost to the overall cost of all the gear you will get in the long run. If you want to point out differences in cost - you can always complain about HQ staves :p, but those are worth every single gil :)

(I've only had BLM 75 for a few weeks now and the amount of gil I've spent is insane =.= compared to what I had to pay for SAM)

tbh...I would say it depends on what you do. On big things like if you kill kings and whatnot, 1INT can make a difference in resists. Although there are things like Sorcerer's Potatos and Merits, etc for maximum Skill, 1 INT can make a difference. BLMs nowadays LOVE to stack up MAB then bitchcrymoan about getting resists. Don't forget that MAB does nothing for ACC. :)

^ Then when there's no other 'big' items to get ya can go back and buy the slightly better pants.

That extra MP could pay for a Drain/Stun which will usually do/prevent more DMG than 1 INT will.

Though I think either is such a small boost it wont really matter most of the time. INT will help just about every cast where the extra MP only really matters when you run out.

More MP might take longer to activate latent on Uggy?

I traded my Jet's in for a little while to try to max out my INT but just can't stand looking at the Mahas- so that's my main reason for Jet's :)

The minus stats make an incredibly negligable difference, may as well get Mahatma (the superior piece) or Errant + use money on other stuff.

I'm a fan of the jets myself. I just abhor white box whorage with certain exceptions, add in the negative stats and I'm not sold.

Yet as with all things, it depends upon your build. Especially if you're going for the 320 (skill) / 120 (INT). If you need that +1 INT from the Mahatma slops to reach/ stay at 120 there you go. Stay with it.

Many valid points in this thread, though I personally stand by my seraweels. From what I understand, that +1 INT does make a difference, but not in that single piece. If you're going for a huge INT build, especially the 320/120 that was mentioned earlier, then by all means get them. You're trying to get as much INT as possible and every piece of gear you have will matter when put together.

Just don't get caught in the thought process that having seraweels will make you a lolblm with fail+1 legs.

About the negative stats on mahatma, chances are if your soloing, and the mob gets to hit you, your in big trouble nways and the negative stats wont be the reason of your downfall.

I my self have been a blm since i started playing this game, tho i also got to lvl RDM, and for RDM honestly for about anything you will do on it wearing mahatma is like shooting yourself in the leg cuz of the negative stats. With the mad amount of gear that a BLM and RDM requires youll try to get gear that you can wear on both jobs to save space, hence my reason of going with jets. But since i got Nashira Seraweels like a few months ago iv been looking to switch BLM to mahatma while i wait for morrigan, i still have not done it as idk i got used to the jets... haha.

imo the 1 int wont make you better than some other BLM in 90% of the situations, but if you want to be ont he cutting edge at what your job does best (nuking the ***outta mobs) go with mahatma. If you want to be more versatile go with jets. I am personally going with jets despite all this and love em.

Mahatma and Jets are relatively the same price. If you are going to spend lots of gil on an item you better be spending it on the obviously superior piece. Mahatma Slops or GTFO.

INT > MP and who cares of negative effects, you wear a errant houpelande and other gear with negatives, its not a big deal. If you are like some of those blm's that wear idle/standing gear then getting mahatma isnt going to be such a big deal.

I honestly did wear Jets when I used to wear a weskit but i also wasnt high on gil either. I got morrigans and definitely wasnt trying to wear something that wasnt worth it with a morg body. getting the gil for it isnt that big a deal. imo mahatma > jet

Flame rings better for WS such as Spinning slash with a INT mod, now if you don't mind the MND- just go with it, its 150k (approx) lesser than the Triumph.

Guillotine is 25% STR and 25% MND mod, you might as well just be using a Puissance Ring or Sun Ring, lol. I'd take Ruby for Guillotine before Flame Ring.
