well if you not only have the extra inventory for an item that you'd likely not get use out of more than once or twice per week/month, and you think having an extra 8 mab when you're less than 8 mp short of latent mp without the extra 15 mp (which is going to require spellcast), is worth 200~300k, then by all means, get both.

personally i'd just swap my morion+1 to loq earring in those cases and save my self 300k and an inventory slot, at the cost of 1 less int, but also having ugly active another 7-8 mp sooner than it would be with jet (which i still don't even think would be worth the 3 mins to make the spellcast rule to do so, considering it's unlikely that i'd actually land at that mp, but i'd also just lose 5 int/2 int+7skill from earring+torque if cmp procs when i otherwise would have had it active with the extra mp).

those sets are different than idle/standing gear :P i have gear for mind,dark, etc. :)

Be fair. The STR and DEX minus on the Mahatma Slops means you'll miss vital attacks for Spirit Taker or do 0 damage. Plus, the AGI minus might stop you evading attacks. Black Mages are A+ in Evasion, after all.

i leave home without em, with full enfeebling magic set, nuking set, resting set and the HP/MP convert stuff + some random gear for "just in case" im pretty much 67/70 atm on gobby bag (yes i can get more but it requires walking over to jeuno to talk to npc bla bla bla, too much work).

I find BLMs that have the will to macro and carry gear for MND and conserve MP very motivated. Conserve MP at the best, will be expectd of you to have if you are PLing someone on BLM, i find no other usage for it, i love when the ability kicks in but i wont go out of my way to macro it over INT and MAB. MND based spells will also be rarely used and have a significant effecte on for BLM type of things you will do. Dark magic spells macro and gear are on borderline of what im willing to carry in my gobby bag.

(all i wanna say is that i value enfeebling magic, nuking, resting gear above the other 3 which you mentioned even tho they are valid as well)

Well MND is strictly for max Stoneskin... and I didn't use to carry all that stuff but Mog Satchel ftw! so much room o.o

EDIT: My Conserve MP really only comes out when I'm the only blm after an event, but hey, I'm a gear ***.

i don't mind having 1 INT less, its just that the Slops look so *** ugly, i like Jet better, looks good on me ^^ maybe i'll buy the slops and switch in only for nukes, when i have more gil to spare.

Guess this thread seperates the hardcore foaming-at-the mouth blms from the ones who just play it when SAM gets boring.

You see my point. If you are choosing a lesser item that costs basically the same amount of gil specifically for looks on BLM then you are doing it wrong. BLM is all about INT, Magic Attack Bonus and Elemental Magic Skill. Also a lesser (but still very important) emphasis on Enfeebling Magic Skill, Dark Magic Skill and MND.

Some people think looks > functionality

Show up as BLM with a Crap load of INT but 790 MP points.

Show up as BLM with Decent Amount of MP but with 921 MP points.

Whats your choice?

I'd have both M.Slops and Jet's.

For real I got IMO like a dozen times with my MP pool LOL.

To throw BLU into the argument, we've got stuff (mostly weaponskills) with STR/INT, STR/MND, or VIT/MND mods. Since we don't get +7 STR legs, +7 INT or MND would be useful and could double as a nuking/aspiring/etc. piece. I wouldn't exactly Savage Blade/Expiacion with the -STR nor would I Magic Fruit with the -VIT. Jets are also 200k cheaper than Mahatma on Fairy.

Both BLU and BLM can so, eh. A lot of new BLMs don't seem to have the guts to, though :\

BLM is going to be my 100%-pure-solo-to-75 job. (It's at 20, now...!)

EDIT: Wait, bleah, that means I'll never get to play a different job in endgame again if I do that. Now I remember why it's still 20.
