Kirin's Osode: Eva +6, Dual Wield +2, Crit rate +2
Neptunal legs are just stupid to get ahold of now, so don't even bother.
Einherjar T2 Helmwige's Chamber drops them pretty often now actually. And you should really be using Double March :\
Other than that, the only improvement I could see would be Royal Redingote with +3 DW and +3 Crit Rate for TP, Rancor Collar for both TP and WS, Take out Goading and Byakko's and swap with Bullwhip and Calmecac Trousers for more TA/DA, and Anguinus Belt unless you have ATK Food, Stalwarts, and Minuet (Or Chaos Roll) from another source up.

I've heard bad things about the Twilight.
I've got a pretty good thingywotsit dagger... The one you get from the dude inside abyssea when you give him battle trophies I think?

Meh, Twilight/Felibre's you mean?
It'd work, but you'd do much better with many more options. Inside Abyssea, Oneiros Knife would be very nice for off-hand... If you wanna just buy a dagger, Gnadgott has a nice Dmg/delay, Verus Knife +1 would be decent as well.
Fusetto options could be nice too, but not sure how much ya wanna invest into Brd DD @_@

Oh, for those curious, Oliphant (Att/Acc+3) or Frency Fife's are nice for WS sets :o

I was kind of thinking of using Twashtar/Parazonium+2 (double attack) for my BRD DD set.
I use a set that's basically identical to Msthief's in Abyssea, and I usually end up tanking (which works, because oddly on BRD I usually have more HP than anyone else in the entire alliance).

Obviously there is some better stuff like +1 Heca and stuff but meh.
Sure it's been adressed, but swapping instruments for your WS would eat your TP before it went off.
Heed Ring doesn't become a viable TP option just because it's cheap and looks cool, Keen or Mars's are better.

If you lost tp when switching instruments, it would more or less completely destroy dd bard.

Don't lose TP when swapping instruments. even when swapping to ammo such as a sachet, you don't.
i prefer Hellish Bugle +1. I only really see myself using Frenzy Fife for if i ever got Mercy Stroke.
sadly i dont have mordant rime yet :/ Nyzul's on my to-do list after im done with Captain rank
as for weapons...Emp/Relic/WoE aside, Coruscanti/Lux Pugio would be nice x.x STR Kila is excellent.
for offhanding, Twilight Knife usually works (Joyeuse if you dont have that)

This is what I have as BRD/DNC WS for Exenterator out of aby. Yea I am aware that there are better pieces (new gear and such), but until I am able to get that~> This is it
Cap augs are +4 agi/str Weapon skill acc. +15 weapon skill dmg. +2%
Tp set~> (Just in case you ask XD)
I am in the process of obtaining Hect. Harness +1

First of all, why is BRD clearly not meant to DD? Why does SE give them things like Mordant Rime which can do 600-1k easily outside Aby if they dont want us to melee occasionally? Back in the day of bird parties, melee brd was the ***! Second of all, /sack & /satchel say hello for extra gear.
To answer Brink's question, I made parizonium +2 2-4x attack dagger for my brd as an offhand dagger. I was in the process of making the dex magian dagger for mainhand when Shinyru stuff was released, so I just have been using twilight dagger for mainhand.
Surprisingly, brd is a REALLY easy job to get 26% haste on as well. I am currently trying to figure out where to lose some haste. Walahra turban (5), goli body (4), dusk gloves (3), bullwhip belt (7), byakkos (5), dusk feet (3) angel lyre (2) also use acc ring/rajas, brutal/aesir combo for earring & rings.
Mordant Rime is actually a really useful WS if you dont already have it, and is a CHR mod (easy to get gear for). Otherwise you should look into getting evisceration and making a build for it inside aby!

Wouldn't an Osode augged with Double Attack or Dual Wield be tops? Attack is also a possible aug.

Yes, I agree on the Osodes, but I haven't gotten it and still working on getting all my augs XD It's a work in progress afterall, but out of aby I solo a lot and I go 2.5k+ most of the time

I was thinking about this to today as I was playing my friends brd. came up with this:
haste capped, good acc. Might work out well if VW, dunno, but I might try it later. Gonna be annoying to find enough STR gear to make Mercy Stroke do any sort of good damage.

Might be not good to use Mercy lol. Can only really talk about THF+ Prov Watcher Cat fights (cause those are the only fights in VW where you would even bring THF lol) And even with RCB, Double Minuet, Choas Roll all the funny VW drins and Berserk from /WAR with a 99 Mandau i get between 1k-1.5k unstacked D: Most other VW might be easyer to do decent WS but if he has, might try Exenterator WS for BRD. Only tryed BRD MS 1-2 times when bored i VW and had only Drinks+ DoubleMinuet for BRD (and no gear at all) but if i remember right i was doing like 100-400dmg max. lol but that was still with 95 Mandau i think. Have fun trying out! BRD/DNC in Campaignbattle was allways fun at 75 to melee lol
So what's everyone's bard DD set? I've been playing bard for a while but i've never seriously reseached it. So what is everyone's DD set for bard ! Are any of the ToM daggers worth doing for bard dd (minus Emp Dagger)
