No, I tend not to take a side on any particular issue. The site itself is apolitical and should stay that way.

I do tend to keep conversations going by pointing out logical problems with either side's arguments though. This inevitably makes whoever I'm arguing with think I'm on the other side. =p

Plus Jaerik has admitted that he doesn't always take the time to read all the replies on very long threads before replying--especially when hopped up on meds, I would imagine--which further confounds determining his stance on things. :p

The feds have a law against it, but the enforcement of it comes to the Drug Enforcement Agency, which is at the discretion of the President. For instance, under Bush, states which legalized marijuana still had federal authorities raiding their otherwise legal marijuana dispensaries. Under Obama, he's ordered the DEA to stop enforcing the law in states where it's legal.

Ahh. BTW, do you ever voice your opinion on any of these topics? I don't think I've ever read a mod express a personal opinion on these topics beyond contributing information.

If I were an admin on a site like this, I'd magic up a second account for any time I wanted to be opinionated.

Funny, I remember you saying you "don't have to make a second account to argue with people."

Gay People Have Every Right To Be Just As Miserable As The Rest Of Us ^_^

just as it is a choice to be gay?

just as we all know man and women were created to procreate?

you do not see anything immoral with and HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE with it?

besides it being a choice?

By all means if someone wants to be gay then let them be gay.

But the ***I have an issue with in these *** stupid arguments!

If someone has the right to do as they please, do not label people who are against it as homophobic or the later when you do not know anything about the person.

This points towards any religious person, and people who are not religious and looking at it from a neutral view.

so yeah crying racism , discriminate over stuff like this usually made me laugh. because I do not see it as the same thing, if someone is messing with gay people or something someone chooses to be it is bigotry, or most likely some redneck who hates everything.

Usually you get religious people tied in with this, and I laugh at it too. Someone not liking something does not mean they are a homophobic ***. But I have to admit, seeing as how my parents are strictly religious if any of my siblings decided to do be gay we would have been disowned. But it does not make my mom and dad a homophobic *** face does it? or religious people or god knows any other type of person.

A true homophobic person would go in the street and beat the hell out of someone for no reason, that is when it draws the line...

Just because some people may not be for gay marriages does not mean they are homophobic, or the "religious type", or what ever. You can not blame people at all for this or for acting like this.

Men and women were born on this planet to procreate, the organs are there to do so, they do not work the other way around. I usually shut my mouth about things like this, but I am sticking to my view. and giving my two cents, oh and I am not homophobia, and you can no compare the likes of it to something like discrimination, or racism because trust me it is not the same thing....

I know of people who get such things mixed up and look HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

Oh if someone decides to rage at my post...
yes there are people who get born with both organs or born differently, but foremost the gender they are is the gender they are. The error that causes such an anomaly... whether god did it or not (if he exits since some people are atheists), it does not matter when you choose to be gay, or have a sex change it is you that makes the choice. such an anomaly in dna it's self can be from pollution, or a change in climate also or something that just genetically went wrong. Who know from science how it is done though and what happens, that is it though.

Either way when you see someone against gay marriages or being gay in general remember that all of them are not homophobic, they probably do not care what you do, the ones that care do so harm are the homophobic and real dangerous kind, think about it.

My two cents.

I agree with you politicians should not be involved in this stuff... yet they are and even if it gets rejected again, it will be politicians again. If a politician is against something, stand by it and that is it. Nothing will change your mind on the issue.

There's always someone who hates someone. Racists, Homophobes, Anti-Semites, I honestly can't view any of them as innocent, practicing blind hatred. It'd be fun to start a witch hunt for all of them.

I'm over joyed to hear this news so glad judges are there to show the majority that they can and are wrong sometimes. The only reason this got passed in the first place is because of the Mormons places ads and trying to make people think this is a "storm" and we're going to molest your children. Ok maybe not that bad but they did play on fear a whole hell of a lot to get this passed.
The supreme court imo knows whats better for this country than it's own people do if it weren't for them we would probably still have segregation in half the country.

I always thought you were more or less asexual by default as a child and you develop your personal preferences as you grow and evolve as a person(IE whom you are raised up by, whom you grow up around, and what stimuli you are exposed to, hormones only do so much.)

social norms ftw!

And also to anyone saying marriage is a religious act can't stfu it may have been 100 years or so ago but not now if it's sooo damn religious why can you just go to your local courthouse downtown and get married by the judge? You also have to pay the government for a marriage license therefore by my thinking marriage is a social/government issue whereas the ceremony may be religious.
