It gives the same legal rights as far as tax cuts and ***, that's all you need, the rest is for show. It's all *** to make the woman happy. Most guys hate the ceremony.
I could care less to hear your QQ about how it makes them feel inferior to not be able to get into a white dress and dance around in front of their most likely unaccepting family members.
If you are gay I will listen to your heart felt pain about how gays feel, otherwise you are just a straight liberal trying to cry about something that doesn't effect you. I don't like listening to liberals even if I basically am close to being one myself.
I want to make it clear once again, I could care less who gets to marry and who doesn't. I'm just speaking logically. That is all.

Family always to me meant blood relatives cousins and even half brothers and sisters if you grew up close enough to them. Is it blood or love that makes a family? I'm fond of my in-laws and would feel horribly for my wife if one of them were to die but it wouldn't "hurt" me or make me dispair. I'd be hurting for us but more for her. Can you even call it a family if there's no way to procreate? There are both women and men who cannot procreate, through straight sex. So, can they never have a family? Good point. My wife and I are at the moment in such a position. The answer to your question depends on the individuals. For me, if it doesn't work out for us, adopting just won't fix my urge to have a family of my own. Being able to see yourself inside someone else is my definition of family. I think many others see it that way.
Yeah, I'd like to see myself in Mia, so I can understand what you're saying, bro.

By the way, interesting detail:
The pro-gay marriage side are represented by two lawyers, Theodore Olson and David Boeis.
Olson served as Solicitor General under President Bush. (The government's chief lawyer before the Supreme Court.). He also represented Bush in the Florida lawsuit that made Bush president. He is strongly Republican.
Boeis was Al Gore's chief lawyer in the same Florida lawsuit, and is strongly Democrat. Meaning they used to be extreme partisan enemies, but agree on the need to legalize gay marriage.
Also interesting, the judge in this case is a Republican, nominated under Reagan and approved under H.W. Bush.

A lot of republicans have been found out cheating on their wives with other men. Maybe they are secretly gay. :D

now hold on a second before you start bashing religion for that reason think about what you are saying. There are some requirments for religion "yes it may be stupid to you or many other people" but in most religion they condemn homosexuality. Therefore there wouldn't need to be any acceptance on there part.

We all know that lawyers are motivated by only one thing, and its not political affiliation.

It's not just gay marriage, it's other things. Stem cell research, Cloning, etc. We can't cure paralysis, we can't clone and reattach a limb, we can't return someone to "the way God made them." and why? Because religious fanatics throw a fit. So, sorry, little Timmy, you have to be in a wheelchair with spinal injuries and you have to go to dialysis every week, because people think God doesn't want you to be able to walk or have new kidneys.

There is no agreement on homosexuality even within religions. Within Christianity, the Catholics, Baptists, and Evangelicals all say it's a sin. So do the Mormons. The Methodists, Lutherans and Presbyterians are split on it. The Church of England (Anglicans) and Episcopalians accept it and even have gay clergy.
Similarly, the largest council of Jewish rabbis came out in support of gay marriage during the Prop 8 election. But the orthodox sub-community came out against it. Similarly, there are disagreements within Islam depending on where in the world you are, and many Eastern religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, etc are either in support of it or split along internal theological lines.
So to say that "most religions are against it" is wildly inaccurate.

My point was that telling people to accept everyone equally, then turning around, and saying that gays are sinners, and not allowing them to be married (discrimination) is dumb.

overall it's not accepted in religion..I would not say that it's "widely innacurate"..cause it is more then the ones that agree on it by a majority. Not to say that won't change in the future but now that's the way it is.

Scragg wrote the web front end, but not the original data collection mechanism nor the localization. However, both the site and LLC are in his name, and almost all of the work done on the site these days is on the web side.
I'm pretty sure that means he trumps me and Cliff, if it really came down to it.

I was going to study the philosophical points of Buddhism as they are amazing, but then I realized how chaotic I am and it wouldn't work for me. If you look as Buddhism as a way to live and not a religion, it's actually very nice though.

Within the US, the most outspoken critics of gay rights have tended to be religious conservatives. Many of the politicians who support gay marriage bans tend to be conservative republicans who receive large campaign contributions from religious organizations. Perhaps there are ideological splits, but it is not an equal split when you follow the money.
[+]
California Proposition 8 (ban on gay marriage) has been struck down in federal district court as a violation of the US Constitution's Equal Protection clause.
This is the first time a state ban on gay marriage has been challenged in federal court. It is worth noting that the judge is a Republican and was appointed by Reagan.
It will now go to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is also in San Francisco. If the circuit court rules for gay marriage, it will also become legal in Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Guam, and the Mariana Islands.
Regardless of the 9th Circuit's ruling, it will be appealed to the US Supreme Court (SCOTUS). If the 9th Circuit rules for gay marriage, SCOTUS must hear the case because of the fracture along state lines.
If the 9th circuit upholds the ban on gay marriage, SCOTUS can simply refuse to hear the case, effectively upholding the ban. Or they can agree to hear the case and make their own ruling, which will then apply to every state in the union.
