If you're using Steel Cyclone while farming I really don't know what to tell you. Can't think of any fight where I'd ask a WAR to /THF given the nature of FFXI's enmity mechanics.

Its just a outdated subjob, you can easily cap acc on most mobs now while sustaining decent haste so no reason to no /SAM and use KJ(w/ proper build does very well on HNM) just need good PLDs I suppose

I would instead get the Sumeru with 6 sTP, not hard to 6 hit.
I plan on upgrading one as a stepping stone until I can get my hands on one of those sexy vermeils...

Vermeil, up until your cyclones are doin' about 1600. Then the 10% bonus will start to overtake the 6DMG + 2DMG(fSTR) + WSC2 bonus.
Even then, the DoT on Vermeil still significantly outweighs the slight bonus on Steel Cyclone that Sumeru has until they are doin close to 2,000.
Someone who spurts torrents of babybatter over math can probably give you exact info. Since I can't put "Lernd ffxi equations" on a job application, I never really went for anything than ballpark estimates.
Even then, the DoT on Vermeil still significantly outweighs the slight bonus on Steel Cyclone that Sumeru has until they are doin close to 2,000.

Not everyone plays with the PLDs you play with. For certain the OP's LS PLDs can step up their game, but given with what he has to work with his question is still valid.
