You can't save lives without medical care, you can't have medical care without money. Where does the money come from?

You might need to pay more taxes but gawd that will not kill you or push you into the poor house, stop exaggerating taxes. You are exactly correct. I'll be 46 in a week, I've had a job since I was 11 years old. I picked peas for .50 cents a bushel, I had a paper route, and work as a janitor at the age of 15, at 16 I started hammering nails into drywall, at 20 I joined the Navy. Nobody ever GAVE me anything I earned it, I worked for it, and now they want to take mine away and give it to someone else. Everybody has the same choices as I did growing up. Work or not work. Shame on the man who wants a hand out. Shame on the man who wants a hand out. That is a vast and massively flawed over oversimplification. Every one knows, even people outside of the US, that the insurance system is rubbish, they will refuse treatment on any technicality. What happens when your insurance company decides that you hammering dry wall makes any subsequent respiratory problems are not covered by your policy? Or your time in the Navy means you have been exposed to something that invalidates all your cover if you get cancer? The point of social healthcare is no one is looking for a reason to kick you out, whereas they are in the insurance system. Edit: oh, you don't have insurance. So how do you cover any medical expense? I go to the 49 dollar clinic in town, they don't take insurance. Ifrit.Cright said: Where does the money come from? Ifrit.Cright said: Answer me this one question: Who is going to pay for this? When you think about it, it's exactly like insurances. What is an insurance ? It's people saying "we cannot pay health care on our own if something really bad happens (because no one can afford extremely expensive surgeries or chemotherapeutics unless they are Hollywood stars), so we put our money together (through a monthly fee) and if something bad happens, we use this money to pay the price of medical care". This is basically what insurances do. You may pay and never get a cancer (cool), but most people think it's safer to pay in case they get one. The goal of the national insurance is to do the same at the level of country. Because you guys are a country, you are together, helping each other if something bad happens. That's the meaning of being part of a country, of being part of a community or a group: you're not alone if ***should happen. Kujata.Argettio said: Ifrit.Cright said: Where does the money come from? I can give you my address and you can send me a check. What would be the difference? Ifrit.Cright said: Kujata.Argettio said: Ifrit.Cright said: Where does the money come from? No I am calling you stupid for not understanding where the money comes from Here's the typical argument from brainwashed people : "Those who benefit public aid are just lazy mofo's". Just think about it for a second, and you'll realize that it's not only stupid, but also extremely insulting. THAT does make me sick.

If I broke my leg today and went to the hospital, do you think they would turn me away? NO, they would fix my leg and put me on a payment plan, just like before. I'll pay it out, I pay my own way. Omama's Illegal Aunt lives down the street from me in a fully furnished apartment, with free cable, internet, gets free clothing, food, and money. Has furniture, a television, computer... all paid for by the state. She isn't a legal citizen!! She does not work and contributes absolutely nothing to this society. My co-worker's junkie daughter has no job. Does nothing but hang out in bars, leaving her son with her Step-mother, and shoots Herion all night. She gets a free house, free cable, free food, and free clothing, and the state is finishing her college education for free, not that she is even going mind you. They will get free heath care. I could go on, Ive got a million more. THIS is what should be making you sick. Look, I'll be the first to admit that heath care around the world and in this country is not perfect, never has been never will be, but forcing people to pay for something isn't right either. How about creating some jobs for people, then they can afford to pay for this.

You should take a look at some of the native health care plans within the sovereign nations that reside within the US boarders before you says something like that again. While I will note that not all the natives have set up foundations for their society - and not all are sovereign nations - those that are have fantastic health care. Here is something of interest for you. I am a Native American, I belong to the Cherokee Tribe. We have this government run health care already in place, and trust me when I say it is something you don't want. My cousin almost died from these idiots giving wrong diagnoses, I used to go the Indian Clinic, but not anymore. I'll take my chances on my own. I just wish it were feasible to be an actual democracy where every single person could vote on things like this, not a democratic republic where a relative few (often persuaded by irrelevant deals, and not affected by the outcome) decide what's best for everyone.

It is feasible, its called a referendum. Civilised country have them now and again, normally only for real big decisions; which this healthcare thingy might have qualified (if said civilised countries didn't already have a further reaching system). Eirinne said: Ive got a million more. THIS is what should be making you sick. No, what makes me sick is people making generalities out of very few examples. You need to consider every aspect of the problem if you don't want to have a biased judgment. Of course there are leeches. But, then why not mentionning those who don't leech, i'm sure you'd find even more million examples of it. Why not mentionning those who get robbed their private insurance compagnies ? Why not mentionning those who are disabled and cannot get a job ? Those victims of dicrimination, those too old, or too black, or too fat ? Stop coming up with your worn out argument and be honnest enough to mention every aspects of the problems. The soceity isn't divided in two parts, those who work hard and the leechers. |
