Can we agree that government and business dont mix? Let us look at the former Soviet Union. Many of you might not have know this, but everything was owned by the government. If you were to start a private business or any kind, they would shut you down and you got to go to jail.
Heck my Grandfather was send to a prison in Siberia for 10years for telling a guy where to buy bricks. In the USSR they had a policy if you were sentenced to server 15years or more you were shot. Since he was a World War 2 Vet, they ordered him to serve 10years. Have you seen Soviet Prisons?

Clean drinking water city municipality. I write my checks to Union County...not USA. I'm not taxed...its a business, they give me clean water, I pay for how much water I use. I'm sure state picks up some of the tab.
FDA is a little in the gray area. But even that has gotten way too big. Stuff takes sooooo long with them. I just had a customer complaining to me last week why they can't get some product. I said three letter, F D A. Then he said he understood b/c he knows how all those inspectors work since he had an employee that part timed at his store and saw how stuff just sat.

Alot of what is paid thru the VA is to fixed stuff broken during that or to get them back on there feet as a functioning member of society. Before the VA yeah... things were bad. People not getting insurance or jobs for injuries from serving. Some of the long timers just not knowing what to do now they were in the real world and going insane or killing themselves or going homeless. Etc.

Cia is tasked with International Intelligence (Outside the country). The FBI is tasked with internal Investigations (They rarely go outside the country and then only for specific Investigations).
The Internal struggles within each government agency caused the downfall because the "Left Hand" wasnt talking to the "Right Hand" so there was no coordination.

What's equally amazing (and a little depressing) is that due to the state of the country's politics, judging by how someone responds in this thread, I can probably tell you what news stations they watch, and what their views on gun control, abortion, global warning, drugs, foreign policy, religion, etc are with surprising accuracy.
Has anyone on either side stopped to wonder why their opinions on such diverse and (ideally) completely unrelated topics are so predictable? If that doesn't scare you, it should.
I found it hilarious that several pages back someone labeled me as Republican but i believe in lots of different things:
I am pro-life, if you have unprotected sex especially and even sex w/ birth control and or condoms you know that theres a chance it can happen, in my eyes, you make your choice then, but that's me.
I believe we should be able to own guns, i mean it is in our constitution after all.
I think global warming is a hoax. Last year was the coldest summer in missouri that i can remember in about 30 years, couldn't even go swimming. There is however nothing wrong with having a desire for a greener planet.
I also don't give a ***about stem cell research because it doesn't 100% require infant stem cells to research on and it could in the end be very beneficial to millions of people i.e. my brother who is diabetic.
I think weed really really should be legalized, all that old propaganda was such a lie, it is in fact much less harmful than alcohol, i know first hand how bad alcoholism can be.
I think the death penalty is fair in some cases.
I really dont care if gay ppl get married, although i find man on man sex repulsive... lesbians tho are kinda hot.
I don't personally watch any new stations and i'm a non-practicing catholic.
Foreign policy is whatever, the rest of the world hates us anyway.
BUT, because im against the health care reform i am 100% republican and i'm just a GOP supporter who won't budge on ANY of my republican based beliefs. lol
They need to come up with something new to bicker really. abortions a dead subject, give me a candidate who proposes to allocate funding for nanotech and stem cell research, because honestly the country needs a new field to boom to create tons of more desirable tech jobs.

Thats why I said forget this DEM vs REPUBE debate. Its irrelevant. The politicians have brainwashed everyone into thinking they fit into the mold of one or the other. We all differ and just b/c you may have a few views that fit into something, doesn't mean you are that. Blind really...for the 18 millionth time. I believe this country was founded with a "federal" government to have 2 purposes, and 2 purposes only. Protect everyone in the union from everyone who isn't, and protect the states from each other. Thats my view point and obviously not yours.
I don't believe in your in a society pay your dues. I believe in talking to my neighbor while looking over my white picket fence and helping him when I can (though he helps me out more than I him.). Your viewing everyone as a collective, the borg. If everyone looked to their left and right and helped when they could, this country would be a better place, even better than it is. Instead we want to sit in our air conditioned rooms playing ffxi and letting uncle sam rob us and believing the govmint will take care of everyone.

So someone taking your attitude on not receiving that what you fully earned might say that those who've never fought for their freedoms don't deserve them. Have you ever served Frobeus?
And from one disabled veteran's viewpoint, there are a lot of flaws in the VA system, but I am thankful for it as it saves me the $300 dollars per month (that's with a 10% co-pay) that I would be paying without VA assistance for the medications that allows me to function and maintain a job.
Also anyone find it funny theres a 2.3% excise tax on wheelchairs in this?
