Welcome to FFXI, where 6 > 7. If you're not 6-hitting with /WAR it's not even worth considering, and that requires eating Carbonara. The trade from /SAM to /WAR is at best 3 STR, 10% Haste, 10 Accuracy, Zanshin, and Meditate for 8 DA and Berserk, plus either the loss of capped accuracy against level 82 Colibri or 15 Attack (Depending on whether you used Cuchu to cap TP accuracy or wore Forager's/Cerb +1). If you have to use White Tathlum due to lacking a VFork, you can knock that down another couple points of accuracy so you've only got a 94% hitrate on the lesser birds.

21% gear Haste, RDM/WHM Haste, and double March is 56%, Hasso takes you to 66%. (.66-.56)/(1-.66)=0.294, or a 29.4% increase in DPS. To contrast, Berserk averages out to an 18% increase in DPS including downtime. 15% DA vs 7% DA is a 6% increase to DPS in TP phase plus a 4.5% increase from WS damage, bringing /WAR's total to 29.5%. DRG already has Attack bonus, so that leaves Meditate, Zanshin, and 10 Accuracy or 15 Attack vs 3 STR.

/SAM destroys /WAR.

I'll happily agree it's a dated mentality. DRG is a very powerful job, especially if you know what you're doing with it. I think at this point it's more of a joke than anything else to say loldrg.

Without sub jobs or hasso that calculator does say drg has more str, but more str isnt what makes a job. If that was the case drk would be better than it actually is.

The day I stop deleveling in Dynamis is the day I'll enjoy BLM again. I don't mind the job itself, but getting a buffer is more trouble than it's worth and takes away from time I could be spending on other jobs I enjoy more.
