This is way, way better. AF+3 5/5 sets are substantially more expensive than relic, so I much prefer an AF set being the reward here. Yay.
Eh. That's not untrue. However, out of all 22 AF sets I only care about RDM. Which I got last time.
It's more valuable to get 5/5 AF+3 than relic+3 but I will not ever be unlocking dynamis divergance. Relic+3 is impossible to make and AF+3 is unwanted. It would have been nice to have the choice of either.

It was already an objective before. 10 minute task. Practically free, maybe 50k for a stack of fire clusters.
Buy 10 stacks of millioncorn and synth it to 10. You might get the t0 HQs before even hitting t1. Especially with a rusk.
Kill shadowlord on the other hand (from zero); 10+ missions, 5 dyna clears and possibly spend an entire run not getting a bijou.

Yeah I was debating whether to post the list but the dyna objective helped me make up my mind. Imagine a whole server trying to farm a bijou. Go get them now.
The entirely luck-based one of obtaining a rune weapon from strange apparatus is probably also going to be painful, unless I'm misremembering and there's a known way to get it.
Fishing rusty items is meh, but, well, ugh.

I know nobody wants to communicate with another human being or make friends but...you can probably do the DL fight with 18 people at once, so it really shouldn't be a problem.
There's a 0% chance you can spend 2 hours in Dynamis - Xarca and not get a Bijou, unless you're on Asura and nobody teams up with anyone, just fighting to the death for the pop items.
The respawn on those NMs is basically nothing and there are shitloads of them all over the map. Most of the time there are several up at once.
If there are any issues popping DL, it will be because of player stupidity.

You can't say it wouldn't be more optimal for everyone to have the option of AF+3 or Relic+3
I agree with this, why not just give the choice?
AF and Relic both got their +4 upgrades from Limbus at the same time, which coincided with some adjustments to make it easier to obtain them (adjustments in AF job card costs, shared instance Dynamis, etc.). The goal seems to be to make it easier for players to get to the gear that they can then further update in Limbus, as a way to help motivate players to do Limbus. Would also be consistent with stuff like the one-time Deeds of Eminence ROEs giving both AF and Relic armor rewards.
But hey, maybe they think AF is still more difficult to obtain than Relic, and the metrics probably reflect that, so that's why they went with AF again. I know that personally I'm at 100% Relic+3 completed for all my lv99 jobs, but only ~50% of AF+3 just due to the cost making some of those pieces a harder sell. The crappy relic gear ends up having dirt cheap voids/shards, so not really much of an investment to drop two vagary mats on the +3 upgrade phase for completion's sake. And anyone can just farm the Dyna voids/shards too, even more easily now with shared Divergence instance. Compare to needing a crafted item with somewhat pricey ingredients, that you might not be able to craft yourself.
Worst case scenario for me would have been if only Relic+3 was in here though. Honestly, that would probably get me to just ignore Vana'bout entirely with all other rewards being the same, but the second tier prize as a whole set of AF+3 guarantees that I'll be in at least for that. And then once they get me in, I'll probably stick around for the former gold tier to get the 3x Old Case+1 reward.

Mmmhmmmm. Honestly, spending any amount of time in Dyna-Xarc I tend to get more Bijous than I know what to do with. I'll see a roaming NM or two and just kill them, which means I pretty much always end up with a Bijou in my mog sack, or sent to a mule as a spare for later use, etc. And that's just from stuff like the occasional ADL marrow farming run (often when people have some of the pops from Deeds), doing NMs for Relic trials, grabbing people fragments to finish an Aeonic, etc.
And hell, if getting the pop is that hard due to competition, just sit near DL pop with your flag up (assuming you get credit on other people's pops). If the competition is really that fierce, getting a party invite to stand there for a few seconds while the NM dies on someone else's pop might be easier than getting the pop item yourself.

Im not saying this is the rationale in their thought process, but it warrants consideration. Also considering relic+3 needs the community to farm void/shards and generate them for the economy, giving a freebie demotivates people from doing dyna and bringing void/shards into the community.
This reason also kinda falls flat since 90% of them fall to the floor in dynamis. pls introduce a void/shard exchange system with Aurix that doesnt involve Medals :(

But hey, even something like the i119 Relic +1 or +2 version (hell, even the ilevel 109 reforged piece) wouldn't be a bad reward for someone who needs the reforged relic armor. Even something like giving 109 relic sets from the first reward tier, then 119+3 AF sets from second tier, etc.
Still saves a lot of time and money as opposed to starting from scratch with the old 75cap pieces and upgrading them a bunch of times. And helps give something players might want to upgrade further, encouraging them to go spend time in Divergence and Limbus. I wouldn't have much use for it myself, but it would be a pretty sensible reward.

Deeds let you skip 3/22 sets, full set of 109 119 and +2, they take TWO YEARS to get! they need more and faster. But that's another topic.

I always forget about the deed system.. I have a full set of unused +1 and +2 AF and Relic sets from the first full use of deed clears, plus 3230 deeds yet used. Could have just used them after doing THF from scratch. Whoops.

Someone please remind me whether I need to wake up at 1am PST to squeeze in the first day of VB before jp midnight at 8am PST or whether the objectives now carry over and queue up so I'd be able to knock the first day and then immediately do the second day if I opt to sleep in like a normal person.

You don't need to do Day 0, they will autoroll to day 1, if you wait
You have a 24 hour window, every objective can be held off for 24 hours with the autorolling, but if you roll the next day you're ***.
(*)There is a non-zero chance of a bug screwing you. I'm stating this so you can't be mad at me for their *** up if you get screwed.
It should be fine. It is however not a guarantee. If you are a title seeker, I suggest you wake up or stay up and do complete day zero. If something happens you lost your shot again until November.

If everything remains the same, you should be able to do Day 0's objectives on Day 1, which will then roll over into Day 1's objectives. The way last round went, if you canceled or completed an objective from the previous day, you would get the current day's missed objective to replace it. I believe this only worked with a buffer of one day, so you could not just wait till the last day of the event and do everything then.

What is the easiest Comet Orb (Lv50 cap) BCNM to solo besides the Mimic one? If you got bst the mimic is pretty much a guaranteed win. Pop SultyPatrice and enter. If you fail just have your blob spit on it a few times and you still win

So, I don't think there needs to be a new thread. That was the point of not calling this "the fourth bout" etc.
Everything is basically locked in, as it were. The objectives may change slightly but by and large you can assume they're going to be more or less the same.
Do (element) damage.
Do a skillchain and/or burst.
Live through a buscade.
Cure and/or Raise someone.
Do one of the five minor bcnm/orb fights. (use bsts/pups for automatic wins)
Fish and/or craft.
Run the bird.
Not expecting anything radically different. The event is the same, the rewards are the same, no point in much discussion really.
The sortie crates are not special in any way. Still random. Segment campaign is still spectacularly mediocre. We will certainly hit the 150% goals. Blah blah blah.
I think we all know the deal by now. And as much fun as it was to shit on the first 3, I expect all the fun has been sucked out of it going forward.

It's all simple shit, Win an Ambuscade. Don't die in ambuscade. Do obscure minigame. Pet/poke/etc your rearing monster. Chocobo dig. Fish.
