XICamera - Allows you to set the Camera distance
I was messing around with this on Ashita v3 today, and it's great! Good job!
Cerberus.Hokuten said: » yes, the speed that the camera will rotate. Is "pan" speed a poorly chosen word? Better terminology to use? Poorly chosen?... POORLY CHOSEN? HOW??? It's the correct term. Poorly understood maybe. But, you can't blame the correct wording, for people's lack of understanding words... https://www.pftrack.com/post/types-of-camera-movement-explained
Also just came in to say that the unlock of the BattleCam, is just pure sex. I've always hated the locked camera since i started playing.
I've been enjoying XICamera and want to thank you for your efforts!
Could XICamera be able to effectively lock the camera height relative to the character height, or perhaps be able to resync to a certain height with every lock-on or /command or something? I ask because as the character moves and the camera pans, the camera tends to slide toward the ground and I'm constantly having to raise it back up, only to have it drop back to the ground after moving again. Shift+Up is now my most common keypress in the game :) What would be the preferred behavior for the camera height lock.
Do you want a command that locks/unlocks or something that resyncs on lock-on? I think having a command to lock/unlock would be the most user-friendly. Something like "cam zlock [on/off/toggle]."
My settings dont seem to save, i did DC idk if that changes it and have to log out normally?
It should save when you run a command to change something. I can look at it this weekend. Going to try to look at the the cam zlock thing as well.
Ah I had battle camera distance set to 25. I crashed and then it reverted
I've noticed that on a fresh FFXI launch, the battle cam settings don't take effect unless I manually zoom in and out once after entering combat. Then it's good to go for the rest of the session.
I've not been able to recreate the battle camera loading issue. I wonder if I borked the settings file in the last update. I changed the order of some of the settings. Can you check you settings file to see if it looks correct?
As for the z-lock thing. I might have found a way to prevent the z from changing while it's operating as a chase cam outside of battle. Still looking into how I'd prevent it from changing in battle and transitioning between the two. My apologies for taking so long to gather data for you.
I deleted my settings file so it would create a new one. Here's what it created after updating just a couple of settings: <?xml version="1.1" ?> <settings> <global> <autoCalcVertSpeed>true</autoCalcVertSpeed> <battleDistance>8.2</battleDistance> <battleRange>4</battleRange> <battleRangeLocked>true</battleRangeLocked> <cameraDistance>6</cameraDistance> <horizontalPanSpeed>3</horizontalPanSpeed> <saveOnIncrement>false</saveOnIncrement> <verticalPanSpeed>10.7</verticalPanSpeed> </global> <valak> <autoCalcVertSpeed>false</autoCalcVertSpeed> <battleDistance>20.2</battleDistance> <verticalPanSpeed>30</verticalPanSpeed> </valak> </settings> Here's a clip of initiating combat right after logging in. The zoom level is default. When I hit my zoom-out bind for XICamera, you can see the setting increase to 21.2 and it immediately takes my view way out to that distance. When I hit the zoom-in key to set it back to 20.2, it goes to the correct distance instead of the original default level. https://youtu.be/70yxEsBKbJ8 I didn't record as I just noticed this, but the vertical camera speed doesn't automatically load up either. When I press up and down it's the standard speed. When I enter 'cam vs 30' into the console, the camera now moves much faster even though that was the last setting I had. I tweaked things to more closely mirror how xipivot is currently handling settings. Maybe it helps fix the issue? I think the change will prevent character specific settings and always read from the global settings.
https://github.com/Hokuten85/XICamera/releases/tag/v0.7.11 I've tested the newer version and it does properly set the view distances without having to zoom in and out first. It does use global settings only, but that doesn't affect my setup as I have different addon folders for each character anyway, so they have unique global settings.
Thanks again! |
