soending all that money to reduce temps by .05 degrees is about the dumbest thing to spend money on. You wouldn't even notice that difference (which is the point).
But hey we live in a free country so I'm sure pleebo and Vic will save their own money to donate for the cause they believe in so much. (They won't)
It's brilliant business. Give us money and maybe the Earth will be saved. Maybe it won't but either way we make money.

It's a starting point, the goal is to shift toward clean energy.
Oh yea what has Canada done lately ? Since you guys are such a great country you should lead the way.

KN just ignores what is going on in the energy sector of China, instead focusing on soil pollution, because that is relevant to the coal industry. ITT: Vic thinks that air pollution is the only pollution.

About 70% of our electricity comes from renewable energy? I'd say that's quite decent.
Umm not exactly. Canada gets most of it's power from Hydroelectric, a very old and well understood technology that has very specific geological requirements.
After Hydro is coal / gas / oil which is hilarious labeled as "Thermal", then Nuclear, then at the most insignificant bottom Wind / Solar.
Yet when 99.99% of the world says "Renewable" they talking Solar and Wind, not Hydro. In fact the very same people pushing "Renewable energy" are actively blocking the development of any more Hydroelectric stations because guess what, building those requires altering the environment and can disrupt local fish.

How is it a terrible deal for America?
It's the proper thing to do, therefor it's a bad deal by American standards.
Especially since there will not be any change as long as the main polluter keeps their emissions going full blast.
Good thing thats not actually happening, as China has already made strides against their coal pollution. How cute of you to think they are actually taking strides at solving their pollution problem.
At least they took the first step at solving the problem, which is identifying that there is one. Had a lot of pressure from the rest of the world, oh, about 4 decades worth now.
Maybe they can start step two this century?
http://www.climatechangenews.com/2016/03/11/chinas-five-year-plan-to-radically-tighten-air-pollution-targets/
They are working on it?
Nope they aren't. They want to reduce the smog in the cities because it's rendered those cities nearly uninhabitable. That will have exactly zero impact on their coal fired electricity plants because those are outside of the urban area's.
China and India are the worlds largest producers of all forms of pollution. Neither of their governments will kill their economy in order to appease Western Marxists with a pathological self hating ideology. They just look at them, nod their heads, and then later say to each other "wow those Westerners are gullible idiots, we're going to make a ton of money off them".

It's the proper thing to do, therefor it's a bad deal by American standards. Then why not have your country spend some more money on the deal.
Especially since there will not be any change as long as the main polluter keeps their emissions going full blast.
I'm sure that Canada can fleece their citizens out of a few more hundreds of millions of (Canadian) dollars a year.
Well the idea is that the *privileged* Western world can destroy their economies by outlawing all forms of industrial activity while making way for the "developing nations" to continue growing their own economies. This way western nations become poorer and all that wealth is redistributed to the poor abused people of the developing nations, with large amounts going into the pockets of the ruling liberal elite of course.

Its ok Shiroi, we have already shown China is working on it, so just ignore Saevel.

Hey last I knew, china was on track to build a new coal plant a week for the next 15-20 years.
Has that changed? Is there a source on that?
You make up whatever you want, so I'm sure you can "find out." That means Vic doesn't have a source.
Case closed!

Vic's American center for progress (leftist hack-site) thinks china has better emissions standards that here.
Does that mean Vic would rather breath the air in Beijing as opposed to NYC?

It I'm understanding this correctly, we'll supposedly have the technological singularity within the next 3 decades, but we will all be too stupid to survive, halt, or negate a 0.3° increase in temperature and our grandchildren will spontaneously combust when we pull out of this agreement.

How is it a terrible deal for America? Because the American taxpayer (well, those who actually pay the taxes in this country) would be footing the bill for a social experiment that changes as people with agendas (and personal gain) change into power. Do you honestly believe that this treaty (which never was ratified in Congress) would be paid for by the other countries? Especially by the one country that creates the largest pollution issue in the world (China)?
Yeah, didn't think so.
Just because we are one of the richest countries in the world doesn't mean we have to support the rest of the world for their social experiments. Please explain how taxes finance anything about the climate accord?

None of their arguments are based on rational points, they are all, without exception, emotional character arguments. You should agree with them because they are the "Good Guys" trying to "Save the World" and who doesn't want the world saved? If you disagree with them then your obviously not one of the "Good Guys" and must be a "Villain" bent on "Destroying the World".
Very strong narrative that especially appeals to young impressionable kids with no sense of the real world and who are still seeking an identity for themselves. What better identity then "World Hero" which they can get by joining "Team Democrat / SJW" and work to "Save the World".
Of course that kind of false identity usually falls off after a decade or three, by then the person has lived in the real world long enough to know it was all *** propaganda. By then the left is already working on the next few generations of "World Heroes".

Subsidies and additional taxes levied on American Energy companies who use the Politically Incorrect Energy source which result in higher prices passed on to the American citizen both directly and indirectly through higher energy prices for every business.
Energy is the life blood of a civilization, the cheaper and more plentiful energy is the greater quality of life that civilization can enjoy. By artificially restricting the supply of energy Progressives are directly reducing the quality of life of Western nations.
Only the most ignorant of people would not understand how energy touches every single aspect of their lives from the moment their born until their death.

Let's not forget that the down payment that Obama made before he left office came from the General Fund, which was part of the Energy Department's budget and is fully sourced by income taxes.
So, yeah, higher energy bills and outsourced tax money went towards this.

It sounds like it is official now. If this deal is going to affect us for the next several decades, is the Left conceding that they won't have one of their own in the White House in that span of time? Because I'm pretty sure the next Dem will just hop back into the faux treaty.
Maybe instead of complaining, they can spend that time finding a fielding a competent candidate.
.....
Bahahahahahaha, like that'll ever happen.
