Even if the proposal could be determined to be unconstitutional or *gasp* bigoted, it was based on a desire for national security.
Ends don't always justify the means. Just because something is deemed "for national security" doesn't mean it is always morally, ethically, or even politically correct.

I'm speaking generally here, btw.
Bad Mod! *whacks with newspaper*

You aren't supposed to bring discussion to this thread, you are supposed to ban people you don't agree with just on that premise!

Rooks! You aren't teaching your mods right again!
I was brought in as an outsider to shake up the status quo of mods. I'm turning it upside down!

I never said it was correct. I'm pointing out how stupid it is to Godwin over it.
It's okay, I'm playing devil's advocate, maybe. Or something.

The Trump mod we need !

It's one thing that Person A is in a situation where they are in between jobs and/or learning new skills for the next big job, it's another if they choose to live that life. I'm all for taxing those who choose to live at or around the poverty line. That might be incentive enough for them to get out of poverty, or at least attempt to.
Do you really think people choose to live paycheck to paycheck, having to choose between food or having the power on? Granted, a poor choice or two may have put them in that situation, but it is a downward spiral and getting out isn't always possible. When you have no money, moving where the jobs are isn't an option. There is no money to pay for education to expand your skills for a better job. Or you are working 2-3 jobs with an ever-changing schedule which leaves no time to do anything even if you can scrape up the funds to pay for something.
Are you saying that this is the case for every, or even most people in this situation?

Because I can state as a fact that people are more interested with their toys than they are paying for that power and food. How many times have you gone to the store, had the person in front of you pay their food with their welfare card, and walk out in their brand new, license-plates-haven't-even-been-put-on-yet vehicle to load up their ***.

Yes, there are some people who cannot get out of the poverty they are in. But there are also some people who take advantage of the welfare system and use their extra money on stuff instead of clothes/shelter/food.

He won because of a protest vote really. He mostly won because people didn't vote, not simply because people voted for him.

He, like Obama before him, won because people thought he was the lessor of two evils.

That was the mood for the past 4 presidential elections now. It's just very observable this time because both candidates were so shitty.

And there are people that take advantage of our tax system to stuff some extra coins in their pockets.

Are you really going to deny people higher wages or livable welfare because you think a few people aren't trying? I promise you that more people are trying than you perceive and that more people are suffering than you understand.

You are basically stating that all Trump voters are racist because Trump won.

No, I'm stating that Trump voters valued something about him -- whatever it was -- enough that they were willing to tolerate the various racist/bigoted/etc. issues that went along with him.

Which isn't really as bad, but it is more insidious and indicative of the problems in our country as to why so many people don't understand why -- or even that -- all these things are still ongoing issues.

While I agree to an extent, the problem could also be that his voters thought Clinton was far worse than he was.

Even so, what problems with Clinton are worse than all the things Donald Trump represents? Government corruption and the entitlement of the rich is what she represents, and Donald has those too, despite all his words to the contrary.

Who's denying what again? Can you tell us all who's actually denying these people higher wages?

Livable welfare is dangerous, because if you make it so you don't have to work to survive, then nobody works. Who is going to make your food/clothing/buildings then?

Most of Trump's voters voted for him because he isn't like Clinton. Shall we list all of her dirty laundry again?

That and he actually had a message for the Reagan Democrats that won him the election instead of just taking them for granted.

Federal Reserve - Regulation is good as banks would completely run this country even more than they already do so it's a necessary evil or something like that.

Vaccines - Mandatory. Little Johnny isn't going to bring Polio back because his parents think vaccines cause autism because of one false report.

Fluoride - No reason to not put it in water.

Well, the Federal Reserve Board regulates a little in that aspect. But the FDIC is the one that does most of the regulations in that regard.

All the Reserve does is either print money or loan money to banks, controlling total money supply along with other tools to combat inflation/deflation and stabilize the global economy.

Then once the entire under-18 population of the world has thei flouride and is vaccinated...we put the children in the water and BOOM! all diseases cured.

...maybe a few new ones created.
