You don't have to involve the government, that is a terrible idea. But you can make it so media corps can't donate/receive donations by political parties and owners of media channels can't get involved in politics in general to avoid conflict of interests.

Again, people keep talking about multiple party systems but even under the most favorable scrutiny the outlier parties in the US are far from ready for prime time.

Johnson buckled the minute he was asked to start talking about detailed solutions and to come off 'the two parties suck!' schtick that plays well with angry people. Not only did he look like a deer in the headlights but he couldn't even mount a proper defense for his own existence. And this is with favorable winds of Trump blowing his way.

Jill Stein is just all over the place. She's so obsessed with trying to get every flavor of left wing crazy under her tent that she too has no real details behind the anger. At some point activism has to translate to legislation and she ain't the standardbearer for that.

If we want third parties that aren't going to be jokes, you need wins down ballot a la Tea Partiers but with enough momentum to get normal donors to fill their coffers. Not everyone can be fortunate enough to have Koch Bros sugardaddies.

These past few years have revealed the inherent weaknesses in the current two party framework but unless post-election there is a surge of momentum to keep people engaged in wanting new options, we'll be back to Red v. Blue for Assault Points.

We need to reconsider how we do our voting then and how we pick our candidates.

- We need more education on voting and politics in our schools
- Vote day needs to be a mandated paid holiday.
- Media reporting on political elections needs some sort of regulation.
- The RNC and DNC both need to die in a pit and burn away.
And how would you go about drafting some set of rules to silence the media? Which, by the way, is an awful idea and unconstitutional...

I don't think silencing the media is what I was getting at but rather work on keeping their reporting unbiased. There is a clear difference between reporting and pushing an idea and a narrative. Even Obama agrees that the media needs to be looked at it.

It is definitely a dicey situation but currently the media is run by corporations with political interests which IMO is far, far worse than being moderated by the government.

But its ok, we can dismiss any idea that would better our political our process by claiming it is unconstitutional without actually thinking about a positive solution. I guess you don't mind propaganda and want an election as crappy as this one every 4 years.

unfortunately that wont help until we get smarter educators...

A lot of this has to do with how much we are paying our educators. I also think that smarter is nice but more understanding is better. This is a problem that will be fixed over time but we need to start sooner or later. Increasing their pay and benefits is a good way to start and then finding a way to hold their teaching accountable and unbias (especially in the political department). Education needs to be and raw and unfiltered. I know here in Texas that religious and conservative bias runs pretty deep in our education, except in a few of our colleges where there is a heavy liberal bias.
also you trust your government more than corporations? Interesting... Trading control from one massive body to the other... As much as I don't really like many corporations in general I still think it's about the worst idea ever to hand over control of moderating media aka censoring media to the government... Where does it end? How would that get rid of bias? Is there no bias in politics? In the government? How far will they take it? Would stories about hillarys emails be stricken? Or how about reporting on alleged sexual assault claims against trump? How do we ferrit out bias from what needs to be heard?

There wasn't collusion. For it to have been such, the FBI would have had to change the status of the email and they didn't.

Nice to see you've caught up to the news cycle of May 2015.

To be fair, I'm not speaking about censoring the media. I don't think that opinions should be silenced either. The basis of my idea is to separate facts into news reports and opinions into talk shows. I have no idea why you and shiroi think I am talking about full governmental control of the media. I may be doing a poor job of getting my point across.

Like for example CNN could have a news show and in order to maintain the word news in their name legally they should only report on issues without interjecting opinion. CNN could then have a talk show come on later that could discuss the news and insert as much opinion as they want.

This way people will see the News as is, raw. Then later they can get opinions from whoever they want.

Seha's ideas would also help alleviate the problem.

You can do a report on Donald trumps video and Hillary's emails without putting a bias in it. Obviously the media can still control what they show.

Also, in terms of trust. I do trust the government a bit more than a privately owned business. A bit more though, I trust neither but I distrust the government a lot less. I actually don't trust the government because of their ability to be ran by corporations.

Take what you want of this but go to page 26 and start at "Shortly thereafter". if you read the context above it states 6 weeks ago from the report which was 9/21/2015.

Inter-agency back scratching/palm greasing is nothing new or worth getting worked up about.

This particular instance played out like this:

Kennedy: One of subordinates is an idiot and did a silly thing.

F.B.I: Oh what's that?

K: He sent an email marked confidential from his government email account to Clinton on her private server. Is it possible you can change the emails classification?

F.B.I: Hmmm well what's in it for us?

Kennedy: I don't what do you want?

F.B.I: How about a larger presence and funding for the FBI Counter Terrorism department in Iraq?

Kennedy: If you can get that emails classification changed, no problem.

F.B.I: Let me run it by Counter Terrorism and see what they think.

Kennedy: Ok well do what you can to convince them.

FBI: Hey CDL you there?

CDL: Yeah what's up?

FBI: That jack off from Kennedy from the State Department wants us to change the classification of an email his subordinate sent to Clinton.

CDL: The Jake Sullivan email about Libyan Police?

FBI: Yeah he wants to change it to a B9.

CDL: You know that's a Benghazi email right?

FBI: Did you say Benghazi?

CDL: Is there an echo.

FBI: Guess that's a no go.

CDL: Damn right.

FBI: Hey Kennedy sorry buddy but that's not going to happen. Not worth the drama. Better luck next time.

Clinton Campaign, DNC Coordinated With Organizations To Incite Violence At Trump Events

Quote:
A new video investigation released Monday by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas Action shows how Democratic-aligned organizations used a tactic called 'bird-dogging' to incite violence and chaos at Trump rallies for media consumption. A key Clinton operative is captured on camera saying, "It doesn’t matter what the friggin’ legal and ethics people say, we need to win this ***."

In the video, Democratic activists Robert Creamer and Scott Foval reveal their strategy to create a sense of "anarchy" in and around Donald Trump events over the course of the campaign. Foval tells an undercover operative: "One of the things we do is we stage very authentic grassroots protests right in their faces at their own events. Like, we infiltrate."

"So the term bird dogging: You put people in the line, at the front which means that they have to get there at six in the morning because they have to get in front at the rally, so that when Trump comes down the rope line, they’re the ones asking him the question in front of the reporter, because they’re pre-placed there," explains Foval. "To funnel that kind of operation, you have to start back with people two weeks ahead of time and train them how to ask questions. You have to train them to bird dog.”

In another undercover interview, Creamer tells Project Veritas that his organization, Democracy Partners, has daily check-ins with the Clinton campaign in order to coordinate efforts. “I just had a call with the campaign and the DNC, every day at one o’clock,” says Creamer subordinate Zulema Rodriguez in the video.

Foval explains to O'Keefe's undercover journalist how the web of Democratic organizations is designed to subvert laws preventing Super PACs and political action groups from organizing directly with campaigns: "The campaign pays DNC, DNC pays Democracy Partners, Democracy Partners pays the Foval Group, the Foval Group goes and executes the ***on the ground... Democracy Partners is the tip of the spear on that stuff."

"We're consultants so we're not the official entity and so those conversations can be had between consultants," Foval explains, “The campaigns and DNC cannot go near [Democratic super PAC] Priorities [USA], but I guaran-damn-tee you that the people who run the Super PACs all talk to each other and we and a few other people are the hubs of that communication.”

One event specifically mentioned by the Democratic operatives to have been 'bird-dogged' was the September incident in North Carolina where a 69-year-old woman was supposedly assaulted by a Trump supporter. In reality, the woman was "trained" by Foval as part of his operation. “She was one of our activists,” he says.

“I’m saying we have mentally ill people, that we pay to do ***, make no mistake,” says Foval in the video. “Over the last twenty years, I’ve paid off a few homeless guys to do some crazy stuff, and I’ve also taken them for dinner, and I’ve also made sure they had a hotel, and a shower. And I put them in a program. Like I’ve done that. But the reality is, a lot of people especially our union guys. A lot of our union guys…they’ll do whatever you want. They’re rock and roll. When I need to get something done in Arkansas, the first guy I call is the head of the AFL-CIO down there, because he will say, ‘What do you need?’ And I will say, I need a guy who will do this, this and this. And they find that guy. And that guy will be like, Hell yeah, let’s do it.”

"It doesn't matter what the friggin' legal and ethics people say, we need to win this ***," Foval also said.

I get the anecdote and the situation (though probably not as candid as you put it). It is clear that the request was from the state department for something that would clearly only benefit Clinton. We can't prove collusion directly from her but we can clearly see that someone was trying to get something done for her. You can't really downplay that truth.

So, I believe, that this is evidence of something more than "back scratching/palm greasing".
