The whole MVP business seems a pilot that wasnt definitively implemented. It seems like it was just available in a short time frame for people that spend an amount (probably over $2000) till that point.
But considering how often people in reddit post RNG/Achievement, even the welcome pack, Im positive no MVP invite was sent last months, as none have been mentioning this for quite a while, neother claiming they received an invite.
I never got anything and I'm on MVP thing I believe.
I think its 2 diferent things. One, the invite sent during a small time frame around Lulus banner, that seemed just to get advertisement or such. That Window just lasted few hours and possibly anyone that spend any cash could get an invite (lots of people got it just doing 100-gem pull). The second wave was directed to whales, and not just gave MVP, but gave a rank (I know there are a Silver and gold rank at least). Each rank is relative to amount of cash dropped, and the higher rank, more rewards as it was said the silver MVP got 1 of each mat, one egg and 1 rosetta stone while the gold one got 3x that.
But I dont see any info of new invites for a long time, even this topic became rare so I think they shouldnt be sending invites. I still think at some point when the program is fully operational it will become be advertised the conditions to get an invite as there is no point keeping it a secret.
Yeah I don't think they still do either. I got that thing too Draylo but it's not the real one. Like Panta said the real MVP has a metal or gem or something associated with it that shows how much you've spent, and your rewards cale from 1x of everything to 10x of everything depending on that. So the biggest whales are getting 10x Major Orbs and such.
Really we have no idea how to activate it, they don't have any clear answers on it. I don't mind it exists but don't put items behind it, especially items that were available to all JP players. Free mythril or something would be a good one since it's like "returning" some of their money.

The feature is only implemented for some characters at the moment, but here's what's going on:
Each character has a few things called spheres, named after basic Job types: for example, Bartz has types Warrior, Red Mage, Knight, Mystic Knight, and Paladin. You can level up these spheres to get permanent bonuses to the characters (for example, leveling the Warrior sphere gives attack bonuses while the Mystic Knight can give a 6% damage bonus to spellblade attacks).
There are new items called fragments that fall under different categories: courage fragments, and some other names I don't feel like translating. You level up spheres by spending fragments, very similar to ability refining. Once you achieve max level of a sphere (level 5) then you MASTER it, which unlocks new spheres (with Bartz, maxing Red Mage unlocks the Mystic Knight sphere).
TL;DR this is a way to permanently upgrade stats, kind of similar to the sphere grid on FF10.
I have no idea where you actually GET fragments. There aren't any new event or normal dungeons, so I think we might have to wait to find out.
Oh, and your character needs to be level 65 or higher to be able to use this system.

Also if you dont have Googleplay Rewards and are on an android device, this thing is awesome. It gives random surverys that take like 20 seconds to fill out and then google play store credit. I've been able to get free 1.00 pulls or at least highly discounted ones every time.
The point is the accessory literally won't exist in the NA version unless you spent whatever amount of money (over 1000$) on the game. I don't know where specifically it's from but it's a normal accessory you get in the JP version.
Have they added a 5* Black Magic that requires Black Orbs in JP beyond Flare and Meteor? I have a lot of Major Black Orbs and really don't care much about Flare/Meteor, thinking about shattering for more 4* hones.

No, but the 6* black magic Ultima requires 6* black orbs. Otherwise it's just flare and meteor

Can you orb convert 5*s into 6*s? Is ultima good?
Tornado Strike and Dark Zone don't look too exceptional either. I guess having a 2 hit okay multiplier spellblade is okay, it certainly doesn't look like a 5* ability.
Who knows though, all my 4*s are at Rank 3 or 4 and I really never feel like I need them higher. I'm actually kind of to the point where I don't feel like I need to hone anything actually.

Both tornado strike and dark zone are rewards from event dungeons, I don't remember which events though. (Eventually high-rare abilities become regular rewards from event dungeons)
These ones don't seem work honing though
EDIT: I think only new additions become event rewards, so no flare or meteor drops
Tbf, lost long I ago any hope to get any item I can possibly want with only 50-mythrils.
Probably it was around first time Buster Sword appeared in a banner. Then the second time. Then the Organics. And still now, even pulling so much for a Cloud unique SB, I never got any.
For a long time I dont bring Cloud to anything worthwhile.
Started playing a few days ago under the suggestion from a linkshell mate. The game is definitely nostalgic, & I am having a blast. It's for iOS, and Android smartphones and tablets. Currently trying to complete these timed events.
Any one else loving the global release of this game? It's been out in Japan for some time. We finally get in on the goodies
