you are correct in most cases. in a small town where you have a business that is doing just fine with the support of your community who are likeminded to you and having someone new come in and you refuse service because of your beliefs they should not be able to sue you just because of that, thats BS.
Inorite? Just because I'm the only physician for 75 miles and the only reliable auto mechanic for 40 miles, I should totally be able to tell that inter-racially married black lesbian in a wheelchair to pound salt when she needs a combination brake job and appendectomy.

Dumbass.

correct better hire a towtruck and call a cab.

Actually, the Old Testament is full of this kind of stuff. For instance, it says that it is wrong for an Israelite to charge interest on a loan to another Israelite, but charging interest on a loan to a foreigner is acceptable in the eyes of YHVH. If you ever want an object lesson in why being goyim is a bad thing, go to the wrong neighborhoods in New York City and try to buy electronics or jewelry at normal retail price. Hassidic Jews literally believe that cheating a goy is acceptable. It's practically a mitzvah.

And you'd better hire a lawyer and buy some soap-on-a-rope. Well, it's unlikely that you'll be sent immediately to prison, but hopefully having your business shut down and all of your assets liquidated will make you sufficiently desperate to break a few windows and wind up screwed for life, metaphorically if not literally.

Mostly the Old Testament. But a lot of the discrimination that God was cool with in the Old Testament were made taboo once their Savior, Jesus, did his thing.

So basically any 'Christian' who's a bigot doesn't believe Jesus died for their Salvation. And basically aren't actually Christians. And damning themselves.

People don't need to be tolerant of bigoted beliefs, no matter if they're religious in nature or not.

The problem is bigoted *** hats keep trying to hide behind the guise of their religions to keep being bigots, it's disgusting. The supposed "war on religion" is an artificial and false concept by people who are bullies and don't want people fighting back.

I'm not saying I'm for this law by any means (it is obviously meant in a cruel intention), but I also kinda have a story.

Local pizza place I used to frequent before my current healthy healthy healthy kick had a customer that was in there basically every week. And every single time should would show up late to pick up her pizza (instead of getting it delivered god only knows why, I just picked up because it was around the corner and saved me $5 in delivery fees... maybe the same I guess).

Anyway, every single time she would find some reason to complain about. Cheese was over cooked, the crust was too doughy, etc etc. I had witnessed it several times in person, and I happen to know the owner of the place and he is just too nice of a guy basically. So every single time, she would get comped a free pizza/soda/bread sticks/something. Well, one of the long term employees (not just some random high school kid) finally got fed up with dealing with her and told her that they aren't gonna comp her any more and she can either get over it or find another pizza place.

Well, this particular woman happened to be black and she decided to sue on discriminatory grounds. And despite the owner having records for a good year or of this constant bitching and comping cycle, she still won.

Fortunately it wasn't a large lawsuit (the settled around $5,000) so he didn't go bankrupt or lose his business or anything. Don't know where I was going with this story... just seemed relevant and recent.

I still fix the guy's garage door for a free pizza on occasion, so meh.

Not directly, but almost all of his teaching were contradictory of the old ones. His were meant to be given higher priority/nullify the older, from what I interpreted.

I guess it depends on how you interpret Matthew 5:18

You can practice whatever religion you want as much as you want, but good business owners have the sense to not let their religion interfere with their profits.

again assuming i am only referring to the bible and Christianity (mind you i don't support any of their beliefs i only respect their rights to have them) there are many religions in this world and if you wholeheartedly believed in one that said something was not right and then are forced by law to accept it just because you run a company is just wrong.

Why?

We force people all the time to not be cannibals, or do human/animal sacrifices, or run around the street in the nude, or have sex with prepubescent children, why should people be allowed to discriminate anymore more than any of the other *** people believe we don't allow?

Your sense of justice is very misplaced.

"Tolerate homosexuals"

Well, I tolerate homosexuals, so why can't you tolerant my beliefs to discriminate against them?

Well, I tolerate Jews, so why can't you tolerant my beliefs to discriminate against them?

Well, I tolerate black people, so why can't you tolerant my beliefs to discriminate against them?

Well, I tolerate Asians, so why can't you tolerant my beliefs to discriminate against them?

Pretty sure the gist of most religions is "Be a good person."

Saying "I don't like your race/sexual preference/hair cut/etc, I'm not going to serve you" kinda goes against that whole motif.

I guess it depends on how you interpret Matthew 5:18

Matthew 5:18 (KJV) -
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Now look at the previous verse.

Matthew 5:17 (KJV) -
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

The common belief is that Christ fulfilled the old law, hence the reason Christians typically do not follow the Mosaic law like the Jews do.

and yet the freedom of religion has limitations, of which we've already stated and your argument in no way defends your position of which I just attacked with logical correlation.

edit: to spell it out for you: there are or can be religions that dictate that people do those things, yet in no way are they allowed by law, what makes this bigotry different than any of those other things?

Define "tolerant."

Then cite where in Christian doctrine it states that it is admissible to disparage someone. I'll give you a hint: there are a few, but they're not the ones you can name and they're very circumstance-specific.

Depends on if you believe he fulfilled it, or if he will when he resurrects, honestly from the wording of the NUMEROUS translations, it's the best conclusion.
