Star Wars: Episode VII Filming Begins in May
Just putting this out there, but I think the Lightsaber looks like a marital aid.
maybe the bracer is there to protect their arms from lightsabers...

lots of knights used vambracers to protect their arms and wrists. Unless thats magical anti-lightsaber material i'm going to assumes its either fashion (Why can't Jedi wear what they want to wear) or to protect their wrists. a sprained wrist can wreck your days.

They hype is strong with this one.
if only they would be wearing their bracers
Bismarck.Misao said: » if only they would be wearing their bracers That is hilarious, lol. I know I can't be the only one who wants to see Darth Revan's rise to power in a movie.
Less sequel, more KOTOR I say! I wonder what memes we'll get from this movie.
hope we can get some live action fights like this:

What we'll actually get:
YouTube Video Placeholder Well, it doesn't appear they messed around with the little guys design.
you know what I hope they have in the New StarWars?
Actual Sets, wouldn't that be crazy? You'll take your over-the-top CGI, overly choreographed mess and like it!
PEW PEW PEW PEW who's fighting who? *** if i know, add more 'splosions. Shiva.Gib said: » you know what I hope they have in the New StarWars? Actual Sets, wouldn't that be crazy? Actual Sets, wouldn't that be crazy? I like the Guillermo Del Toro approach; Only use CGI when/if you have to. I bet that would be considered a huge struggle for them now, especially with each new movie having upped the ante on epic lightsaber and battle scenes, CG backgrounds and still shots, etc. These people have unlimited money to spend on this ***, there is no reason they can't get costume designers and set builders to pull out the stops. I want to feel like I'm on another world, not ILMs computers.
CGI is great when incorporated into practical effects and Star Wars has no reason to deny us either or. Also, please incorporate some believable choreography. I'll cite Captain America 2 as having some great practical fighting scenes that actually make you feel like people are employing strategy and tactics into superhuman motions. When something hit Caps shield, you felt it. When someone got thrown across the set, it hurt. I've always hated how people in Star Wars react when they get hit or lose limbs. It's laughable. Seriously? You just LOST A ARM. Wince. Scream. Act like you liked that appendage or something. I don't need the geriatric battle of ep.4 but please inject some passion into these fights. Twirling sabers and all that ridiculously silly ***needs to die with the prequels. I hate to keep feeding this thread, but the official cast has been revealed. What caught my eye was seeing Andy Serkis in the line-up. I immediately pictured Gollum wielding a lightsaber. ; ;

All they need to do is have the Anakin turn into vader scene and replaced by Luke at the beginning of Epi 7 and the film will be complete!. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FTW!
Gollum or a monkey....either o
ne beats any Lucas input or demands. Ugggh Cerberus.Avalon said: » I hate to keep feeding this thread, but the official cast has been revealed. I guess we can expect one of the central characters to be totally CGI then. I just hope it isn't Jar-Jar spawn. Hate that it takes so long inbetween these movies.

Yes, fans wanted to see the transition of Anakin to Vader and Sidious' play for galaxy-wide control from the Senate. The story, not the acting, was done very well. The story of Ep1-3 in comparison to the very simple story of Ep4-6 is why the prequels are so loathed. Ep4-6: Rebels vs. Empire, father redeems himself and defeats the big bad thanks to the efforts of Luke. That's it. Very simple with characters that were easy enough to understand. All the prequels did was jumble alot of the established lore, introduced us to characters that were neither memorable or well liked, throw in lots of political intrigue in a movie for kids(?), damage the character of Vader and make the Jedi look like a pack of buffoons who deserved to be cut down for the gross incompetence of their order. Oh and the CGI was frankly obnoxious in its overuse. The acting was terrible and knowing Hayden Christensen is Vader causes me to lose sleep at night. On its face the story of Vader's rise sounds good but Ep1-3? What a trainwreck. What are you talking about? I like Anakin more than any other SW characters and IMO EP1-3 is better than 4-6.....It's not like 4-6 has any awesome acting anyways. People hating EP1-3 and loving EP4-6 is the same reason why ppl hate FF8, FF9, FF12 ,FF13 and love the *** out of FF6 and 7. Ragnarok.Afania said: » What are you talking about? People hating EP1-3 and loving EP4-6 is the same reason why ppl hate FF8, FF9, FF12 ,FF13 and so on. At least 4-6 didn't amount to C-Span in Space. I think we hate FF13 because the characters seem to be devoid of... character, and the dumbass game keeps getting shoved down our throats year after year.
But not to go off topic, I'll agree that the original trilogy was much better than the prequels. Though the characters were simple, there was an untold depth about them that's easy to relate to. I didn't mind 1-3; in fact, I actually enjoyed Revenge of the Sith. That being said though, I'd like to see the ball a-rollin' with the old crew. Oh, and what is this about? Certain elements of Star Wars is no longer canon? Source. I didn't mind 1-3, and FF8 is one of my favorite games, theory debunked!
As for the cast they picked: who the *** are most of these people? Jetackuu said: » I didn't mind 1-3, and FF8 is one of my favorite games, theory debunked! As for the cast they picked: who the *** are most of these people? With all (or most?) non-cinema stories becoming non-canon, it's clear J.J. Abrams has his own vision for Star Wars from here on out - and that vision doesn't include the last... 35+ years? That being said, the fact that most of his cast are people we've never seen before means he's starting fresh with characters that will grow and evolve as his future universe unfolds. |
