I know, it's the internet and thats the popular thing to hate everything, especially new/different things, ESPECIALLY new unproven things, but you can't believe for a second it could be worse then the prequels.

Weather or not you like his stuff or you just like jumping on the internet acceptance hate train *ZOMG LULZ LENS FLARES TROLOLOL* The cold hard fact is JJ Abrams is a very competent director and screen writer. Which Lucas has proven time and time again when he has full control over a project he's anything but.

I don't even remember the prequels. That to me is not a good sign of quality.

All I can remember from Clone wars was the 'I don't like Sand' speech

No Jar Jar please, that was hell. I've blown through 64 Star Wars EU novels since 2012 and I couldn't be more excited about a new movie. We just need Jaina Solo, and i'll be a happy man.

Epi. 1-3 were solid for the story but Portman/Christensen's acting chemistry was the worst for any acting duo, ever.

It won't have Jar Jar (or at least I hope not), but it'll probably be full of pathetic references to the original trilogy to the point of overkill. Oh, and it'll have plenty of "what if" moments, like "what if Vader isn't really dead", or "what if Yoda is really Obi-wan's Father", or "what if the Rebel Alliance became the new bad guys" etc.

Oh, and there'll probably be a Star Trek reference in there somewhere. And a potato. Any fanboy of the original Star Wars will have to put a potato asteroid in there.

Yes, fans wanted to see the transition of Anakin to Vader and Sidious' play for galaxy-wide control from the Senate. The story, not the acting, was done very well.

Star Wars has always been mediocre to awful. Stop supporting a franchise that had its few good points destroyed before most of you hit puberty.

Star Wars is more than just the movies. The games and books are great

The story of Ep1-3 in comparison to the very simple story of Ep4-6 is why the prequels are so loathed. Ep4-6: Rebels vs. Empire, father redeems himself and defeats the big bad thanks to the efforts of Luke. That's it. Very simple with characters that were easy enough to understand.

All the prequels did was jumble alot of the established lore, introduced us to characters that were neither memorable or well liked, throw in lots of political intrigue in a movie for kids(?), damage the character of Vader and make the Jedi look like a pack of buffoons who deserved to be cut down for the gross incompetence of their order.

Oh and the CGI was frankly obnoxious in its overuse. The acting was terrible and knowing Hayden Christensen is Vader causes me to lose sleep at night. On its face the story of Vader's rise sounds good but Ep1-3? What a trainwreck.

The Clone Wars animated series was better than the prequels but expanded universe series material doesn't cover for the fail that was Ep1-3.

meh, never understood why people thought "The Dark Knight" was "great" and hated "Batman and Robin" and "Batman Forever" so much either...

Stories in ep 1-3 were convoluted and lacked any real impact. Here are a slew of changes that could be made to episode 1 to make it a more cohesive and interesting story. Maybe not perfect in everyone's eyes, but arguably better even with the existing cast.

As a Star Wars fan, I can actually really appreciate this. I don't mind the prequels the same way that most people hate them, but I think this guy's ideas are pretty solid. While I don't agree with everything said, it would have made for a more cohesive film than what we got.
