For the Shinies! A Guide for Thief
Minuets/attack buffs are totally going to help boost my damage against level nothing mobs.
(Was a WHM. You can actually see my buffs if you look hard enough) There's no open room like that in arrapago II with single gear, salvage 75?
Well I don't know how the *** you pulled that off then. All I was saying is I've never seen a spike 7k evis, in the year and a half I've done salvage, everyday, keeping logs.
It was a neat feat to me, apparently I was just unlucky for the last 10,000 ws's or so. Putting the gear you're wearing in the spreadsheet, what you did is mathematically impossible. So. If it's right, and the absolute maximum; 6160 Then if you're right about the 25% weakness to pierce; 7700 Maybe you're just bad at spreadsheets
D+fStr+WSC: 91 + 18 + (263 * .5) = 240 Max pdif: 240 * 3.15 = 756 Max num of hits: 756 * 8 = 6048 Crit damage bonus: 6048 * 1.22 = 7378 Piercing bonus: 7378 * 1.25 = 9223 So in short, if I claimed 9224 damage, then yes, it would have been impossible. Otherwise, no. I'm actually impressed over how you've been wrong in every one of your posts so far tonight. I really want to go to bed but I want to see what you'll say next. Hmm, I wonder if you quad attack with Assassin's Charge, does the last hit of your mainhand's QA get cut off or does your offhand get cut off.
Color me amazed that no ones ever posted an 8k+ then. If 9k is the max, it should be pretty common.
I was using the *** offhand you said you used. You don't get 91 D for the offhand hits, you were using a ceremonial dagger, right. You aren't even using the right gear ffs. Total ***. If ___ is max
it should be pretty common. At least you sent me off with a good laugh. Good night errbody! All hits other than the first main hand hit gives 1 tp.
Why is nooone using vanir knife?
@ Ihina first off let me say that you're a douche, I see what you did to get 8k, it's lame, and you're lame for posting it.
Not only did you lie, you ws'd @ 300%, comparing my 100% 7k to your 300% 8k is /fail. But thank you for allowing me to do this, just to show you're an ***. MY 300% Evis. Now you can quit being a douchebag. Her's another one, I can post 8k+ Screenshots all day long WITH 300% TP like you. Matter of fact; I'll one up you, using SA and AC just cause I can: I'm feeling generous, I might post 40 or 50 of these. Wow that rly grinded your gears huh?
lmao
Think you need to calm down, chief. The rustling of jimmies is overly apparent. Ragnarok.Headache said: » Wow that rly grinded your gears huh? It QUITE pissed me off actually. That's rare. So much so, that I sacrificed my efficiency just to prove a point. I think I could get it over 10k if I really felt like it. (and if they had enough HP). Quetzalcoatl.Valli said: » If it's right, and the absolute maximum; 6160 Changing sub to ceremonial actually shows a maximum of around 6998 in a simulated example with Izhiikoh. Add in piercing bonus to that turnout and you're looking at 8747. Change main to Mandau and you're looking at 6286 and 7857. This is at 100TP. Being able to match Ihina's damage at 300TP does not imply that Ihina was using WS at 300TP. Or he may have been, who knows. My spreadsheet says neither of you have to, though. Or he may have been, who knows. My spreadsheet says neither of you have to, though. He did 8100 with mandau/cermonial that literally proves that what I said was true, it is LITERALLY MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to do the ws he did with 100% tp. (assuming the math is right, I can't say for certain, but I'll take your word for it). Don't forget, he was using an inferior set. Proving he had 300%. And it's fail to even post that trash trying to compare my 7k @ 100%. But I ain't even mad (now). I found out it was 300% or at least 225% so I went in on today's run and saw better than he posted anyway. And I could do even better, but the gears only have 10k hp and they die before all 8 hits can go off, and still lacking a piece or two for maximum. lol i just did AR2 and did a 8.4k to gears at 150tp no ac or anything. Could post ss but you cant see my tp there anyway. Using mandau/izhiiko
When you do 9377 with zero buffs/debuffs, then I'll be impressed.
Inb4 Chiner's belt, Demonry ring, AC SS. 8978*1.25= Theoretical maximum, absolute maximum I could find; 11222 (you could possibly find higher, it's just the highest I could find) Without using SA or TA while solo, thf/dnc. They don't even have that much health. Not trying to impress lol. Just pointing out that its nothing special. If you're having a hard time hitting those numbers you might have to improve ;D
Poor archaic gears...
Being violated just because some weird dudes started some pointless discussion... Angierus said: » Lol this is amusing, sour about that damage. Sour about being shown up under false pretenses, yes. But we can drop it now. 9377 zero buffs. I'm happy with that, nomoremad. Quetzalcoatl.Valli said: » it is LITERALLY MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to do the ws he did with 100% tp. Wrong. The numbers I threw out were just maximums of an arbitrary sample. Ihina's math is simpler but gives you more of an idea of a strict maximum under his setup, as it assumes all hits are critical hits. The reason yours broke his math is because he was using his pathos-locked DEX. Or am I wrong in my understanding that additional TP only varies your critical hit rate, which would also make whatever TP either of you did it at a moot point. Ihina could have randomly got it at 100TP, where as you went out and wasted your time building 300TP a bunch to make the odds more favorable, and made yourself look horrible while doing it. Holy ***, dude. Lol.
Here's something to calm you down: Also, TP doesn't affect damage for critical hit weapon skills. Only critical hit rate. Aww Llew, I wanted to say it.
The mod for evis is 50% dex at both 1000TP and 3000TP. That means you can achieve the same damage at any level of TP if you just WS enough times. It's absolutely amazing how he continues to be wrong in every one of his posts. If I'm a bad guy for finding it funny, then so be it, I'm a bad guy. Bismarck.Inference said: » The reason yours broke his math is because he was using his pathos-locked DEX. In those screenshots, he was using Bully+SAEvis. My calculation was just solo evis Quote: I don't understand this. How could she not like blondes? Everyone loves blondes. Quetzalcoatl.Valli said: LITERALLY MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE You seem to have a lot of problems grasping the mathematics of these assertions, as well as the meaning of mathematical impossibility. Ihina's assertion is not impossible, it's just ridiculously improbable (on the order of 1 in 240 trillion to be within half a percent of the maximum). Your insistence of not being impressed other than by evidence of reaching the mathematical maximum (without buffs) is childish and immature. Likewise, weaponskilling at 3000 TP is not necessary to reach those higher values, it just makes it a lot easier for it to happen, which makes it simpler to demonstrate the -possibility- of that much damage occurring. Unlike weaponskills that have damage vary with TP, there is nothing intrinsically preventing a crit-based weaponskill from reaching its maximum at just 1000 TP; it's just far less likely to occur. In general, if you hold TP on damage-varying weaponskills, you generally -will- do more damage (within the range of pDif randomization), whereas if you hold TP on crit-varying weaponskills, you -probably- will do more damage. You also seem to have missed a couple sarcastic jabs, and instead took the comments somewhat more personally, leading to a more vitriolic backlash. 100% -> 1000% was clearly a poke at the change in TP scaling, while grinding gears is clearly a reference to the Salvage gears being used as examples. Your responses to those posts was out of proportion to the joke being made. For the record, I estimate the maximum Evisceration damage (without Abyssea buffs or similar) to be: Mandau: d91 (since this was asserted to be required after the initial backlash), Twashtar offhand (max dex) fStr: 18 Dex: 101 (mithra thf/dnc) + 15 (merits) + 184 (gear) = 300 WSC = 150 Total base damage = 259 pDif: 3.15 +Crit damage: 14% (trait) + 14% (Pillager+1 gear) + 6% (Yetshila +1) + 3% (Cavaros Mantle) = 37% Maximum single hit damage: 259 * 3.15 * 1.37 * 1.25 (piercing weakness) = 1395 Total damage: 1375 * 8 (# of hits) = 11,160 With Izhiikoh as mainhand weapon (and keeping Twashtar offhand for dex), max damage is 12,280. Note: This is for max damage, so some gear choices are focused on that, rather than what may possibly be a better 'average' damage choice. It also has very little +crit rate, so the probability of getting all 8 hits as crits (never mind max crit damage) is very low. Nevertheless, it is theoretically possible, and that possibility exists even at 1000 TP. And I suppose I also have to take issue with the assertion that Dancing Edge could never generate more than 7000 damage ("even against qutrub"). Even just using the same gear set as Evisceration, above (which is not the ideal I'd use for DE), we have: Mandau: d91 (since this was asserted to be required after the initial backlash), Twashtar offhand (max dex) fStr: 18 Dex: 101 (mithra thf/dnc) + 15 (merits) + 184 (gear) = 300 Chr: 71 (mithra thf/dnc) + 105 (gear) = 176 WSC = 190 Total base damage: 91 + 18 + 190 = 299 Max non-crit pDif: 2.756 Max single hit damage: 299 * 2.756 * 1.25 (piercing weakness) = 1030 Total damage: 1030 * 8 (# of hits) = 8240 And obviously double that vs qutrub, for 16,480. Once again, the probability of actually reaching that maximum is low, but it's also clear that it easily crosses the threshold that was dismissed as impossible. EDIT: If Twashtar gets an offhand hit, it will drop the max by a tiny bit (2 base damage, 1 fStr). Not enough that I'm going to bother tweaking the calculation results to account for it.
