Hello, I haven't played sam for quite a while now and quite out of touch where it is concerned. I have used the FFXIcalculator and I think I have found a set that is available to me. If possible can number whiz double check. I'm not looking for the BEST sets just a 5 hit with fudo/shoha.

Thank you for the elitist advice /bow. Not what I was exactly looking for because I'm thinking that is an optimum set. I don't want to nor will I ever get rose strap or spend 20M+ on a belt. Again I don't want the BEST set just a simple 5 hit with fudo/shoha.
Rose strap takes like 20 minutes every 5 days (or longer, if you wish.)
What servers are phos 20m on? Bullwhip is free.

That's not even optimum, that's just reasonably obtainable. NQ phos is about 5-6M depending on server, and I don't understand why people don't want to get a rose strap. It's not even that hard, and the sooner you start on it the sooner you'll get one.

rose strap is all about time... the effort involved is nonexistent. you could afk on 1 campaign mob and have enough rank up points when you get back these days

They changed the Hasso enhancement to JA haste from Magic haste, so Unkai Haidate+2 should be in your set regardless.
What the above posters mentioned are cheap/easy upgrades (Rose Strap/Bullwhip Belt) for functional 5-hit/25% haste TP sets.
You may wanna grab Prosilio belt and Justicer's Torcque for your Fudo WS set. It's a good catch-all combo for any ATK-setting.

There can be situations, like I mentioned, that you cap total delay reduction and the JA haste from af3+2 legs won't benefit you. Granted, I used a kind of rare situation that isn't very likely, I was just trying to find SOME possible use for phorcys legs over unkai, but haven't actually checked if the att/DEX would outweigh the STR in whatever situations, nor do I really care because I don't roll in the same PT with DNC and /dnc.

252 gear haste, 448 magic haste (Embrava+Haste), 127 JA haste (Hasso+AF3 legs) = 827/1024 = 80.7%

THIS. That is what I was asking. You basically do need it, because then you'd be dependent of yet another job for more haste (the dancer), so in a zerg where you're getting embrava, you're more than likely to not have a dancer right? So phorcys still seems like a bad choice. Thank you.

I really don't know how my personal gear choice matters whatsoever. Like I said, I don't do end-game stuff on sam where PD/Embrava is used anyways. Like I said are dncs or /dncs really that common in a zerg where you are getting embrava? I really wouldn't think so. ANYWAYS, keep on hating? I rarely play anyways. I was simply asking for clarity in case I do come back to actually participate in events.

but seriously you need af3+2 legs to hit delay- cap on samurai in most situations. which is why most sam's use af3+2 over other options still.

You were sure as hell giving quite a lot of attitude in your posts considering you were "simply asking for clarity." Your personal gear choices were my form of attack on you, just as your arrogance was towards Llewelyn. Also, I'm not "hating," you're just wearing a ring that can easily be replaced on the AH considering you own a weapon worth over 100m
I would probably take this one person in my LS on DNC and stick them in the BRD pt over the majority of other DD on my server in a VWNM run. So that could be a situation where I could cap haste without AF3+2 legs off of the top of my head.
You could also be getting blitzer's roll and having a DNC and ride seigan for the counter rate! *** YEAH SILLY BUFFS IN OBSCURE SITUATIONS

Lets keep it simple and stick with Unkai Haidate+2~
I'm sure in those "few" situations you roll with a DNC or /DNC, and not atk capped, Phorcys could be better. But I for one don't roll with DNC like yourself.
Relying on a DNC or /DNC to cap delay reduction is such hassle eitherway.
edit: For some reason I read that as if you meant Hasso was magic haste. Regardless of that we seem to arrive at the same conclusion ;-)

Yoichi just doesn't seem worth it anymore for SAM unless you are WSing a piercing mob.
SAM gets TP extremely fast as is and the GKT WSs are too good now.
At 75 Namas (capped att) was better then any other GKT WS. Fudo/Shoha crapped on that Parade. If I could trade my Yoichi back in for coins I'd do it tomorrow.
Ya, I figured it hasn't been getting much attention for good reason. Against high level mobs it had promise if it weren't for the issue sam can't get enough ranged attack. It was decently close by my numbers, and I was debating if ws frequency would give it the advantage, but looking at thoe numbers, and knowing they are going to get devalued makes that seem unlikely.

My build would be similar to this when i upgrade from kanto to masa, but isnt this overshooting 5hit by a bit or did i mess up/miss something?
