So an augmented Kabuto beats Mekira +1? I've been wondering this but haven't seen anyone talk about it.
Oh really that's awesome cause i can augment it myself, do you have any math backing that up? just to see how much of a diff between mekira+1 and kabuto+1

How would you like it mathed? I math all my gear/sets with DPS and a basic spread sheet i made.
Edit: There are times where Mekira+1 does pull ahead, like when the Att is being used for Fudo/Kaiten.
Ideally you would have both, but with Temps in VW and mainly spamming Shoha on harder mobs Shura comes out ahead slightly.

That set is 20.8 tp a hit. You just need 16.8tp return on your WS (grip +8 more sTP)

Yeah was supposed to be Misuu I fixed it.
I was playing with 2hit VW builds and had to put everything back, forgot to change Misuu because it looks the same as Unkai and I was rushing.
taint, would you be a dear and math out how shura surpasses mekira in some situations? my LS doesnt seem to believe in anything outside eyeballing things, and could use definitive evidence.

At the end of the day its very close but Shura is slightly better in most situations and its a ton cheaper. I have less then 2mil in my Shura+1 and that includes buying sky pops, cursed -1 and tatters.
1/18 on the Abj. for my MNK... 2.5mil for the -1, 3mil plus in tatters, and all I have is ws damage +3%... I think my main will be sticking with Mekira +1 for a while haha.
So ws damage from gear and overwhelm are 2 separate term into the damage calculation ? *1.03 and *1.19 instead of *1.22 at the end ?

I paid 400k for my Sieryu pop, 1.2mil for the -1 and spent 500k on tatters but only used 9/62.
Yes WSdamage and OW are seperate.
There was a post on BG that describes the effects of "Elemental effect on day" adding a certain amount of fTP to a WS matching the corresponding day of the week. As shoha is Fragmentation/Compression, it will enhance the FTP to the same amount as an elemental gorget/Belt on Windsday, Darksday, and Lightningsday. Mekira should win on those days.

The damage is so similar, it isn't worth killing yourself for either one. I personally use Mekira +1 because of re-sellability,, horrible luck with synergy, less instances of -HP gear, and not needing to swap to something else for weaker mobs.
Also Taint, you have light gorget listed on your shoha set. (Shouldn't it be breeze, shadow, or thunder?).
