How about an Oneiros Ring for Tachi: Shoha?
I'm know it's been discussed for TP sets, but how does TripleAtk+2% compare to STR+7 for Shoha? (with a touch of Accuracy+3) Me and a LS mate having a discussion on current Amano 99 setups for TP. I'll leave the discussion at that as to dis-include bias or our own personal opinions.
Here are the two sets. and What are the thoughts on porthos byrnie setupsas well since the second set could be improved on heavily. Asura.Fondue said: » wut I covered this a few pages back. Looking like a Beet > Pumpkin.
I'll be honest mine is the first set (To aim for in theory)... I feel like the 25% haste, 2% JA haste, QA from neck, and DA from back/ear on a 5-hit with this setup outweighs anything you could do with a porthos byrnie.
I could be wrong though that's why I'm fishing for info. You missed MP merits and an Oneiros ring on the second set

I could be wrong though that's why I'm fishing for info. Upon relooking at my first set with FFXI calc, I'm getting 20.8% TP so I could actually swap a piece or two and adjust it. Any thoughts? I still want to see a solid set with porthos byrnie and hear discussion on it though... for Amano. I'm in 100% agree that porthos has no place on SAM, however I want someone to try and prove me wrong or show me SOMETHING decent with it.

Its been tried and always came out wanting. What about in terms of a Voidwatch tp set when it's TA is paired with windbuffet/oneiros assuming its used with Valiant and Latitude for 2/3 of your atmacites closing the haste gap.

Has anyone run the numbers for Amano (95+) for prime ws set with Triplus Subligar? My spreadsheet seems to be messing up a bit so I just wanted to make sure that what it's telling me is bs/truth. Basically, Triplus sub's beat ogier's/avant+1 in almost any situation where you have any kind of att+ buff on (stalwart's or zerk, or songs, etc)

Sucking every bit of ACC out of your set just makes you more reliant on buffs, support and zanshin. SAMs purpose of meleeing is to WS as fast as possible, AF3 body achieves that purpose better then any other item. 10% Zanhin on misses (double TP+), 2.5%-3% Tripple TP+ double damage on hit. javelinx said: » Has anyone run the numbers for Amano (95+) for prime ws set with Triplus Subligar? Anything harder than t3 VW and i would hope a decent sam has more than just a stalwart's worth of att boosts on.

I'm really only interested in the sub's for legion and what not, where you have really high att from buffs anyway, so -10 att isn't going to make as big a difference when you have 1500-2000 att as it's only .5% or less of your total attack.

The -20 acc will be considerably less noticeable for Amano, and there are only a couple mobs in legion where sam has to put an acc+ build on....Anyway back to the orig question, spreadsheet, with higher teir nm and/or VW expected att bufs on, and every other piece of gear the same, do you have triplus coming out higher than ogier's or avant+1?

Thanks, and I fixed my spreadsheet finally, so yeah, wins anywhere with stalwarts tonic and self buffs/food(used Pil as test), loses in legion and outside abys or VW Been working on my SAM for the last few weeks (partially with the use of this thread/forum) and this is what I'm sporting at the moment. I have a 5 hit, 25% Haste, 71 Atk and 32 Acc. Could switch to Ryuga Sune-Ate if the Acc us too low but I'm not certain that it's necessary. Also, I presume Hasty Pinion is not worth using despite the fact that I'd still have a 5 hit? Any general suggestions/improvements? Siren.Hellscream

Honestly, it's so easy to 5-hit with kanto that there are a lot of gear combinations you can use and keep 25-26% haste. Your set looks good to me. I was using this set I think... (I still don't have any phorcys or mala, working on it): NOTE: Can't remember what earring/neck I was using so I put bushi/justice as placeholders lol. Siren.Hellscream

This has been bothering me for a while as I'm finishing up lvl 85 and 90 Masa... I see a lot of great posts here and I hope I'm doing the math wrong, but a lot of ppl are using rose strap and brutal as their only store TP in their Shoha sets (with double pyrosoul rings), and with 5/5 merits and traits, that's a total of 45 store TP. So, the calculation would be:
11.1 * 1.45 = 16.095, rounded down to 16.0 That means you need a flat 21 store TP per melee swing from your TP set. To my understanding, the "ideal" TP set (what Taint posted and which I'm also aiming for) is: This set has 48 store TP, so adding in traits and merits, that's a total of 88. The math is: 11.1 * 1.88 = 20.868, rounded down to 20.8 Four swings totals 83.2, and adding in 16.0 from Shoha, that's only 99.2. What am I missing here? |
