This is prolly the best place to ask, does anyone have/know of a fishing parser? I'm wanting to get a few bits of data (outside anecdotal evidence), but I really really don't want to write down ~2000-3000 fish's worth of stuff.
I'm wanting to, assuming 150 fish/day (to account for things like Non-target fish, target fish, etc), track things like my Hakuryu Bite/Catch/Line break rates, with average amounts of time per catch (if I'm only getting say 12/hr, I could better use that time if I'm looking for gil), etc. One of the big discussions "Which lure's better?" is pretty much right on one of my target findings.
Apparently I'm already getting a "higher than average" (based on my own scribbling down) bite/catch rate at approximately 2.5-3 fish per lure (I always hear ~1.5:1 off other people "on average"), so I'm wanting to make sure I'm doing my numbers right, see how much my line's snapping, etc.

I would be very interested if someone knows of one that's windower approved or close that you can post, I'd be interested in that myself.
You can't get two lots of GP if you change rank. Even if the requested Fish changed because you changed rank. I had this idea and /sigh'd when it didn't work :(
GP NPC simply says you cannot get any more points when you ask "What are my limits?"

I think you sort of can depending on the amount of points (unless its been changed). Like if your current limit is 3000 and then you rank up and the limit is 4000 you can gain an additional 1000.

Funny thing is that i was so happy when i got 100 a couple years ago,that i trowned both pelican rings out,and i think i had a few charges on em too XD dang

I have 2 fully charged pelicans right now...debating on whether or not to run those full time until they are out to get 3 chances of a skill up off each hak, or if just fishing noddy puffin would output more.
Probably just going to do 50/50 of it and see how it goes from there haha.
Of course it teased me and got .2 on the 3rd hak with nothing since.

I'd be surprised if you even needed half of the charges.. then again its luck. My mule is 104.something since update. With no rings.
Tried my hand at Hakus with my Lu rod - wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. May end up using these to fund my Gugrus.
just curious if anyone has been able to get a flame shield out of a gigant squid. i'm not sure how many i've turned in, but it's a lot.

Try to find some in bazaars is all you can do :x
And you should instead fish nebimonites and sell them and buy a lu shangs rod. It's faster.

i rotated days between skill ups and the contest fish for a week. turned in the largest one i caught and npc'd the rest. i've only turned in one fish so far, but i got 3rd. i still got decent skill ups even though the fish was out of ideal skill up range. to be fair i was level 28, and the higher you get the slower the skill ups come. i'm dreading 60+(54 atm), but hopefully the next contest will be something i can fish focus for skill ups and a pelican ring.

oh lol :x i've been working on an ebisu on my brothers character, and hes been getting screwed on gugs, i turned in over 400 for him and nada.
then I finally make him turn them in with the gimpiest equip possible, and he gets in like 1/5 lol :X
