Wife and I were out duoing dom op's in altepa the other day grinding her whm out to 95 along with my rng and was shocked and amazed at the lack of healing magic skill ups she got. As rng my eva is pretty low and I got hit tons which I thought would help her skill up like crazy. Turns out she only got 0.9 to 1.0 lvl from 90-95 TOTAL. Is this normal for whm? If so...holy f**k. Her enfeebling skilled up fast tho which made me wonder if something was borked with healing magic.

Guess it's time to get that Gustav Tunnel earring, apparently it was a noticeable difference. I had just recently got healing capped @ 90 for my dad, but mine is severely lacking.

But yeah, Healing has a tendency to...not skill up whatsoever, even if you're basically spamming cures the whole fight, it's nuts.

I wonder what the logic was behind this subpar skill up rate. I mean hell thats worse than fishing skill ups.

You can level your healing much faster if you cast it on undead. You'll have to go out of your way on this of course but it works. I hear it levels just as fast as elemental magic would (kinda makes sense? divine too I guess maybe). You can try solo'ing it but if you can get a friend/friends to help or if your at an event that has undead your fighting then even better. I think you can spam cure 1's just fine, don't think you have to cast higher tier cures or if that makes a difference. I usually don't care all that much about leveling it because I'm on whm wherever I go so my skills get capped eventually so no need to stress over them.

Or just do besieged. Spam Cure 1 on a general. .5 skillups almost every cast.

Doesn't need to be undead. Go cast cure on the highest level passive mob you can find, and it'll give you skillups while not provoking it in any way.

If you can't find something passive, put sneak/invisible up and do the same against something aggressive. Curing for no effect doesn't drop stealth statuses.

Skill gained through enhancing or healing players is usually on targets that would be treated as EM, while generals are likely significantly higher level than we are(were).

That would also make sense. Bastion NPC are extraordinarily weak, and they're probably not very high level.

first off :3 i was capped at 90 within a couple days of leveling my mule... so idunno what ya'll doing wrong :x... that and hasn't testing been done to show healing magic does pretty much nothing. As in we used to think it worked with cursna but now it's shown that it doesn't? just the *slight* impact on cures.

I think people are referring to this:

Make it so the chances of curing Doom increase with higher healing magic skill.
Since there is also Holy Water when curing this is difficult, we’d like to monitor the current rate. Though it depends on luck and repeated attempts, but the recovery rate was set rather high so it can be cured before the countdown timer reaches zero.

Interesting. Was pretty sure any spell casting canceled invisible.
