HOWEVER the difficult/annoying part was getting the ones in Xarc [S] to land on me. God knows how many times I've run through that zone and accidently aggord those things but the one time I run all around under the thing it wouldn't drop on me. Spinal Cleave, went out to learn it with a full alliance of BLUs when it first became available (my blu skill was capped + af hands) *every* blu in the alliance learned it, except me. I suspect people thought my skill was not capped, or that I had already learned it as was "not looking at the very bottom of the spell list" etc. Blus's started "fake DC" ... Never did learn it with that alliance. Came back later with some friends, and learned it no problem.
Metallic body took 3 days for some reason - almost quit blu over that spell - glad I persisted. Spinal cleave is sad, not just cause it was such a pain to get back then but because it was totally worthless too so there isn't even any satisfaction other than simply completion.
Winds of Promy and Quadratic Continuum where horrible to get. I think I went 1/20+ on both of them.
1/20 on the promy spells is about right for me too, but it still took hours for each one. Getting them to use the actual spell is the challenge.
Bismarck.Josiahfk said: » 1/20 is horrible? I wish I had your luck lol Must have seen warm up used 200 times before I learned it and don't get me started on magic hammer. Dia wont deal initial dmg to poroggo so you can't hang around waiting either Fortunately, my luck is pretty good when learning blu spells. Like Viciousss said, the main problem was that Empty mobs simply refused to use the right moves. I must have killed around 50 Thinkers in one session before I even saw Winds. I rather go 0/200 and see the spell everytime. So I noticed alot of people including myself were having issues getting Gnoles to stand on hind legs for learning Asuran Claws. A friend of mine pointed out an NM in Jugner Forest(S) that likes to spam the move, but is popped with an item in La Vaule(S). So I headed to La Vaule(S) to farm the item. Instead I came across a group of Lobison at G-10/H-10 that seem to be permanently on hind legs from spawning. Have been here 20-30mins now and not once seen them go down on all fours. Learnt Asuran Claws 1/1 on these guys. Good hunting ^^b
It's related to moon phase. I forget if it's full or new, but at one point in the moon cycle they'll stand up almost all the time.
Self-destruct and Battery Charge took me like 8 hours to learn. The pots woudn't use Battery Charge usually and Self-Destruct... just would not proc.
Animating wall took a friend of mine better than 5 hours. He knew how to break the weapon and all that, he couldn't get them to use it often and had such bad luck. Reaving Wind sucks the most for me. All other spellz i had good luck, i never had more than 1/5 on wut ever spell i wanned, but these Ampitheater dont wanne aggro me......
pshhh Reaving wind...its just like that other guy said. So hard to get it to land on you... i think im 0/50 by now because i still havent even learned the damn thing. i gave up

So hard to get it to land on you... i think im 0/50 by now because i still havent even learned the damn thing. i gave up Veng =D You still play? The only one I've had trouble with so far is Thunderbolt. Mostly, it's because I'm a raving moron who can't read.
I looked up "thunderbolt" on wiki. It said something something raptors only use it in stormy areas, like Sauromugue Champaign. I was out there for DAYS trying to learn it, and they used it fairly decently often enough. Finally I raged and sulked and took a break from trying to learn it and learned other things. Then the other day I was looking up things on BGwiki and decided to check out Thunderbolt there, maybe I wasn't able to learn it from the SC raptors, maybe it had to be different raptors... And BGwiki said it's from behemoths. So I looked at the wiki page again, and yes, it's from behemoths. There are two 'thunderbolt' pages and I looked at the wrong one. ![]() Anyways. I have them all except: Body Slam (I'm too chicken to go try to get it on my own. Dragons are scary, ok!) Asuran Claws (Also chicken) Sub-Zero Smash (Also chicken-- actually, most of the rest of these I don't have just because I'm too chicken to go try alone.) White wind Thunderbolt Quadrastrike (Just haven't been into dyna-xarc since leveling blu, will go in soon for it I think) Absolute Terror Thunder Breath Gates of Hades Tourbillion Pyric Bulwark Wind Breath Barbed Crescent (this one should be easy, fomors are pansies. Just have to get on it.) Bilgestorm Bloodrake Soon all my spells shall be complete. Mwahaha! Lesson learned. This is how it's done. But anyway on topic, Self-Destruct was one of the biggest pains, something like 3hrs+ for that thing. Edit: And Veng, you'd rather afk in town than come learn reaving wind with me that time, can't be helped if i went 1/2 on it ^^; So far Bloodrake is the bain of my existance. It's not so much getting the Vampyr in Bosteaneaux Obliet to use it, it's surviving the blood aggro, not a real good spot to pull to that I've found.

Have you tried the Varkolak in Castle Zvahl Keep (S)? It's a bit of a pain getting to the camp but it's relatively safe once you're there. Voren said: » So far Bloodrake is the bain of my existance. Just pull them into the tunnel leading to the big room with all the bats, or all the way into that room if you want. I never had any trouble with blood aggro when I learned this spell. Hysteric Barrage for sure. I just love extra requirements for the mob using a spell.
Gates of Hades, Tail Slap, Battery Charge, Mandibular Bite, Memento Mori, Spinal Cleave, Diamondhide, Cannonball, Everyone's Grudge.
Took 8hrs to learn Metallic Body on my mule.
More than half the spells that people talk about having trouble getting, I don't even find useful lol
My BLU is only level 47 atm; I wasn't gonna even level it until I found a happy medium where I could learn most of the spells by 99, and not be completely gimp in blue magic skill. I found it and I'm up to date for the most part, but...Blitzstrahl, Sandspin, Bomb Toss, and Poison Breath are my stubborn "ugh" spells. I eventually learned all but Blitz, but I was like "dolls? Dom Ops party? That works!"
(And no one wants a keyer for a doll party for the past three weeks. FML) Tickmeoff said: » Voren said: » So far Bloodrake is the bain of my existance. Thanks for the advice, it worked! I now have all the spells I can solo, only missing pyyric bulwark, turbillion, bilgestorm, and gates of hades before I've got all spells. I didnt try because its a pain in the *** to get to, or so I hear. Reminds me, I need to work on WotG some time. |
