Yesterday while doing a trial, Sav learned Regeneration. I was ONE skill level short of learning it. I got my point on the coeurls nearby. Went back to the Sea Monks to learn it. Left a couple hours later without it to go work on the next trial. I'll get it another time. I have 70 spells left to learn. Sav has 67. She also has Warm-up and Firespit. Those are another two that I've spent hours trying to learn. I should have learned at least one of them by now... >.>
<.< I'm innocent! Took me over 5 hours to learn Queashyshroom.... Bahamut.Krizz said: » Cerberus.Tidis said: » I'm currently yelling at Qutrubs hoping it will make their weapon break. Qutrubs...Spinal Cleave or Animating Wail? Aby-Tahrongi Qutrubs use both without breaking weapons. I got both spells there within 10 kills, no weapon breaks. It was Spinal Cleave
I didn't mind. I was waiting for Krizz to get home from work...I learned it like...2-3 hours after he got home lol...I was exping too at the time so *Shrugs*

I have yet to learn Radiant Breath as of yet. If I had to pick one spell, that would be the one.
any blue magic spell can break weapons, unless they've changed that since I leveled it.
Me and my wife brought Blu's to 75 together, and I remember it taking us (with the help of a few LS friends) 12 hours total (between two 6ish hour sessions) for both of us to learn Radiant Breath from the Wyverns in Mt.Z.
On a funnier, separate note... she stopped using her BLU as much once the 90 cap hit. I continued too. After awhile of being 90 and getting my Blue magic up to par, I decided to go after some spells. She came along with her 90 blu as well, for the sake of completion. We went after the Turul (because I can't spell what they actually are) in Xarc (s). I got Reaving Wind in about 20 minutes. 4 hours later, she still doesn't have it. Problem?.. without using her BLU, her skill wasn't high enough to learn. Oops! Barbed Crescent :@
Still don't have it. It's a lot easier to learn spells now I think. I got BLU from 49 to 99 like 2 weeks ago and got 90% of the spells in like 3 days. The worst I had was 1/12 on Warm-Up. Everything else I learned in a couple tries. Seriously, capped&meritted blue magic skill with Trainee Hammer+Trainee Sword, BLU skill gear in every slot with AF1 hands does the trick. The hard part isn't learning the spell I found, the hard part is getting mobs to use the TP move, especially for mobs that have like 6-7 TP moves like Leeches/Worms, or mobs that only use TP moves under certain conditions. Queasyshroom was a pain too but that was back in like 2006, I think that's the only spell that took me hours to learn cuz the Ronfaure ones like never used it.
Recently I made a trip to Promy-Vahzl to get all the spells from those mobs, and it literally took forever and a day to learn them. The mobs there have so many TP moves, and when they FINALLY used them it took a lot of uses to learn. Spent TONS of straight hours trying to get them. Finally got all of them except Winds of Promyvion. Will just get that one later..-_-
I think they use it if they have debuffs on them, i THINK. I got Winds of promy pretty easily. Just spammed Dia, or something lol
The empty spells are complete *** to get. Took me 2 days of farming to get them all, but totally worth it.
This thread is pretty much the reason why I never unlocked BLU.

only spell missing too ._. Battery Charge was a *** for me. Spent a couple days in Delkfutt's getting that one.
Question: best place to learn Bloodrake? Hunting Grounds page makes it sound like I'mma need alot of help for that one in Oubliette. Is that really my best option? D: All the other options are NMs or far less common. It's a good place to learn and you don't need help if you are even somewhat decent at blu solo. IIRC, they will only use it above 50% so don't hurt em too much. It took me a long time to get it but it beats the other options.
Ok, thanks. Guess I'm heading down to the basement!
take some holy waters incase you get doomed. I didnt like that spell, long *** run and burned a lot of items.
Or you could turn around and avoid it completely.
The vampyr in Bostanieux Oubliette are easily soloable, though keeping them at high HP is actually advisable (AI glitch, they only use Bloodrake at high HP). Debuffs, an eva set, /NIN, and stunning agas makes it cake. I brought my RDM mule, but only to speed things up with Dia spam. Hunting Grounds has always overstated the difficulty of learning spells. The only spells I consider unsoloable at or near use level (within three levels) are Memento Mori and Body Slam. EDIT: Maybe Tourbillion, but only because there's no practical target for soloing (Khimaira's wings break VERY easily, leaving only Nyzul and Assault for remotely viable learning options). |
