Karkand was always my favorite map in BF2. Sharqi was a really good map for a good sniper. It's layout left plenty of places for a sniper to perch up and piss off the enemy team.
Hope the F35 I saw is the B variant (the one with VTOL). I loved harassing the choppers by just 'parking' in the middle of a map and using it like it was a turret.
At least I'm assuming it was an F35, as the F22 wasn't in BF2.
You could also Engineer rape the other team from the middle spawn once you hold it though. In this game...even more so. 3 Engi's and a support could probably indefinitely hold off any attempt to gain that area back via vehicles lol
I'm also getting really annoyed at the terrible teams I've been randomly getting on. My W/L ratio has tanked over the last 2 days because a mass amount of people want to camp a taken objective.. when the other team owns more of them. Then a tank rolls through and rapes everyone. People don't seem to grasp the concept that owning 2 of the 5 objectives is not going to win the game.
I think I need to take a break from 64x servers. Just too much random death.
Yeah, but it's not that bad. Me and my friend about got enough points for the mp7 from a single run through of the entire co-op; which takes about an hour or so.

I haven't spent much time on the 64 player servers, and don't think I will until MW3 comes out.. It's painfully obvious that a lot of these 64 player servers are populated by those who just buy the newest FPS.. In some matches there are more RPG's fired than bullets.. That type of ***almost never happened in BF2.. Squads were organized and motivated to work as a team, not a lone wolf just trying to get the most kills.
The 32 servers suffer the same problem, but at least then there are fewer RPG's flying. On the tight maps it's almost impossible to take a single step without getting hit (or even killed) by an RPG on the 64 player servers.

At first I was kinda disappointed that ps3 only got 24 player matches, but now that I've been playing it I'm glad it's only 24 and not 64. I don't know how much the maps are scaled up for the pc, but if it's not much, I could see it being a complete nightmare to just move.
Honestly that's more based off the fact that the RPG is overly accurate more than anything. Some maps depending on which spawn you get I'd go as far as to say it's favorable to use RPG's because you really can't do much otherwise. Take Metro on conquest. US spawn is at a major disadvantage seeing as they are looking at all 3 of your teams access points form high ground.

Having 360 and PC I can tell you that the maps are quite scaled. and you really don't notice the extra bodies. If anything it results in more action because in conquest every point is always being contested.

I don't disagree with this, but still stand by what I said. I'm looking forward to when the majority of players are comprised of Battlefield fans and veterans, and not just because it's the newest game out.
Yeah on Bazaar and Damavand that's about 70% of player kills is the RPG. on Bazaar in the middle alley you'll see 3 to 6 per second. It's just a spam fest.

Who were you again? JarNoBaka? Or is that someone else?

I'm just saying.
If I see someone in a window and they are poking their head out to take pop shots I'm not gonna waste my rounds. I'll just eliminate their cover and send in a trailing rocket to take em out.
Windows and the like are one of the few times I'll use rockets on infantry.. If I know there's someone above me shooting my teammates from a second story window I'll fire a rocket and toss a grenade up there. I'll also rocket a sniper if he's really pissing me off and I can't get close enough.

There is an amazing sense of satisfaction of sniping a sniper with an RPG.
Main time I'm guilty of using them on infantry is in operation metro....because cap point B is a cluster F#&k at best and if I see an Engi repairing a tank >_>

Bompfu
Okay, that's probably why we haven't really played together <_< When I see Jar playing he's usually in 32 man matches and I try to join. Try playing in some 32 man matches, they can still be intense.
I personally don't think the splash off of rpgs/smaws make it worth to use against anything other than vehicles. Grenade launchers is what gets on my nerves. Especially so since the assault kit gets it, then they sacrifice the health pack, making them less of an use to the squad/team.

That's why I said Cap point B on Metro is really the only place I find it viable. They HAVE to come up one of 3 routes and they're all extremely bottle necked.
But I agree about the assault one. A lot of people don't play assault with the squad in mind which is why I usually try to have Thunderz as my Medic because he plays with the team in mind not himself. The other complaint I have is I NEVER see support. And when I do they're just lobbing mortars.
The grenade launcher is one of the best counters to rpg spam. Wish I could mount the launcher and still equip a med pack..
Early on it seemed every assault had medpack which mad it useless for me to carry one so I switched to grenade launcher. Seems everyone else did the same when they unlocked it because now I rarely see medkits.

I'm not a fan of LMGs so I equipped my support with a shotgun and use it on close quarter maps, such as Metro/Bazaar/etc. I usually don't need the ammo box for it since I use ammo perk, but for c4/claymores it's amazing.
..And I'm actually not a fan of the mortar. I was at my friend's house with us both playing and he was spotting me with his MAV and we seriously watched my shells directly hit infantry with 2-3 shells and they wouldn't die.

k thanks. guess i need a coop partner. all of my friends are waiting out mw3 though >.>
so if there are any people who play on ps3 and need a coop partner or just a squad member, hit me up. zellcarter is my psn thing.
i think there are a few other zellcarters out there bu you will know its me cause i have a 16bit akuma as my avatar.

Support is my favorite class. Infact it's the only class I ever play. Half the time when I use quick matches I'll end up with some asshat assault with no medkits who just ignores the people dying around them. see if I give you ammo, jerk. Go ahead just beg me for more grenade launcher rounds! >:3
Only reason I ever get on assault is to heal and revive people. I hardly do any shooting, I'm mostly ducked down or behind cover somewhere tossing medkits and scrambling to everyone who needs reviving. Only time I take the time to shoot and kill people is if it's self-preservation or no one around me is dying (I constantly throw out med packs, even when no one needs it, it's become just a habit, when it's up, I toss one).
Yeah that's the kind of medic I need :D
Gives me someone to sit there and spam my ammo crates to.
As support I tend to only try to shoot if I'm posted up with my bipod, not a fan of missing. Short controlled bursts. Usually using squad supression so my squad can move up. Having a medkit under me while I'm posted up saves me from a
lot of grief.
Just got out of some awesome Bazaar games. first one was close.. we won 3 resorces to 0.. they had a 110 point lead on us in the beginning. Second game was down right destruction.
I miss my grenade launcher but I keep myself (and others) alive enough with medkits and jumpers. I actually have the problem of running out of ammo. (Using Ammo squad perk too)
Okay, finally. After 3+ hours of making the video only to lose everything, then starting again.. Took 9 hours between video editing, exporting, compressing and uploading..
Youtube killed the quality quite a bit from what I had (it also gave it that stutter) but it's good enough that you can see what's going on.
Also check out 2:55 <_< I have no idea how I didn't die.
Decided to go ahead and make a thread on it since there isn't one yet, and wanted to see who all is getting it?
Well PC version anyways, I hate playing FPS on console, it's one of the few (maybe the only?) genre where playing on PC actually makes the most sense (due to keyboard/mouse rather than controller. Mouse makes for far better reaction times, using a keyboard takes some getting used to though). If you plan on getting it on PC we should hook up in game and pop some heads. :).
I will be pre-ordering it, nothing could stand in my way of getting it.. I'm a huge Battlefield fan, and have been since 1942.
I was actually in a state of shock when I saw that 3 was on it's way.. I hadn't actually kept up on the next/newest installments, and while I love BC and BC2, there's just no Battlefield on console that compares to BF2 (and arguably, no FPS on console period that does).
