I'm in the top 6% for vehicles destroyed, and top 11 for headshot distance.. Kinda surprised my best vehicle is the Viper though.. I was just horrible at flying it for the longest..

My stats aren't that great, but I was never really worried with stats to begin with. I don't tend to concentrate on anything, just do what I want at the time.. Could be capturing flags, could be defending them, could be providing air support or flying the transport choppers and letting people rack up kills with the miniguns, could be sniping.

According to this on xbox I'm a better player than I thought I was in some categories.
Top 1% in skill and 2% for headshot distance.

I sit in the AA guns in caspian and say "you come over my skies you gonna get some" if I find our pilots are having issues. I usually try and tell them to bait them in low over our airfield however I find that there are way too many lone wolves out there who would rather struggle.

I only do this when I'm actually having trouble with the enemy jet(s) (last few times I played and flying the jets, I was the only one on our team using jets, while the other team had 2 decent pilots)

I'm pretty good at keeping them from getting a clear shot when they're staying hard on my tail, but quite often if they're that good, I have trouble out maneuvering them and getting behind them..

if youre having trouble with enemy jets i recommend air radar to see where they are in relation to you. invaluable during a dogfight. also most people in jets are idiots in that they only turn in 1 of 2 ways. either constantly bank left/ right in a circle or loop da loops up and down. just fly the jet like its water going down a drain and youll rack up kills easily while readin novels of hate mail exclaiming how youre cheating by being able to turn so fast.

i can honestly say ive almost never been legitmately shot down by a single person in another jet, usually its helis and engies on the ground get me by spammin missles (cant avoid em all after all)

My problem with jets is that on the AIR radar it looks like the person stopped, did a 180 turn, and is right behind me. Not quite sure how to do a break turn. I may be doing it right just not sure.

i have spent like 15 mins in a jet/heli... i suck at flying them >.> cant turn for ***in the jet lol

if you see that, more than likely the enemy pilot did a loop. easiest time to shoot them down when they do that cause 6/10 pilots manage to stall themselves out, least on xbox they do

I do use air radar and I'm quite proficient in the jet.. Just sometimes there's that person or 2 people in the enemy jets that match your own skill.. In those matches they have just as much a problem of shaking me, as I do with them.

I've also already been accused of cheating a few times, Clinpachi was in one of the matches (doubt he'd remember) where a few people on the enemy team were convinced I was hacking. Unless they have a good pilot on their side that keeps me busy, I just rain down hell..

@Fumiku the icon will slow down and eventually stop moving all together when they're looping up or down, the icon slows down as their flight path moves from horizontal to more vertical in relation to you. The fading also indicates their altitude relative to yours, very solid and bright is right near your level, the higher or lower they are from you, the more it fades away.

You have to keep an eye on what they're doing as well as the air radar to use it effectively, if you don't pay attention to them and the air radar at the same time, then all it will tell you is they're right behind you more or less...

Stalls are getting pretty rare on PC.. Most pilots have become accustomed to judging distances without looking at the gauges, as well as knowing distances and clearance they need to perform maneuvers.

wish the pp-19 was a tiny bit stronger. but i guess its the lmg for all classes so i doubt it would happen.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that is just shitty to no get any point flying a transport helicopter around killing stuff?

you can get a ton of points flying around actually, those miniguns on the side are killer in the correct hands. can shoot down attack choppers, jets and show tanks on the ground whos boss easily.
but i think its more or less just meant to be a portable spawn device. just gotta set it somewhere close to objective and protect it so your team can quickly take the objective

Pretty sure he meant being the pilot. Your passengers will get most of the points while you just get assists.

What do the points go towards? Class or Vehical for the gunner?

All points obtained while in a vehicle go towards that vehicle. In the case of the transport helicopter, I'd assume that you don't get points towards anything since there are no unlocks for it.

Scout copter points no?

Oh i remember that very clearly.... i tend to play less on PC and more on xbox 360 now for several personal reasons....

People *** and accuse others of hacking way to much via chat... and I've been kicked and banned from servers randomly just for being MVP or near it. But in turn you actually have people who ARE hacking their *** off and there is nothing you can do about it.

On xbox360 i can rape all day long and instead of accused of cheating i get so much hate mail/voice messages it makes me laugh half the time.

Yeah... people can cheat on xbox but its extremely rare... about 90% less likely than PC without a shred of doubt. Also playing with friends on xbox is a lot less ***... Battlelog is NOT friendly when it comes to drop zone parties and just wanting to play with a few friends... half the time SOMEONE doesn't get through which screws them and you all have to back out and try another server... On xbox you just invite them and join a server... the worst issue we have on xbox is getting split up on different teams/squads which is annoying to say the least but at least we can switch teams and squads to match up for the rest of the gaming session.

The ONLY advantage PC version has is conquest large... which to be frank... i *** hate it. The only thing i like about it is the actual mobile AA availability.

I loves me some BF3 either way on any system... i just find it easier and more fun to play on xbox right now. :(

Lots and lots and lots and lots of practice and patience. Highly recommend finding a non-ranked server and just go apeshit in vehicles until you think you have a good handle on basic controls.

You'll never get real practice though until your all out firefight mode.

*** hate how jets can just fly right into helicopters and make us explode but take no sort of dmg at all. pisses me off. /mad

They take dmg too.
The only way to make a chopper explode requires lacing it with cannon rounds right before you hit it. but jet cannons take down any vehicle fast.

i dunno what just happened then cause i was hovering over an objective minding my own business when a jet crashed into me. i didnt hear the metal on my chopper cling like usual, i just exploded.

may be a glitch. today when i unlocked qbu-88 and equipped it, i couldnt aim with it and i would hold the riffle over my head like i was mentally challenged or something. anywho, im prob just overreacting. i had a good groove going with the chopped that match. sucked to be taken out by a cheap shot.

It's a roll of the dice really.. I've spent a lot of time in both choppers and jets, sometimes neither get damaged or insta-explode, sometimes it's only one, but it doesn't happen to only one.. I've flown jets (by accident, I don't ram on purpose, although I do tend to misjudge the distance a lot, I try to squeeze every last bullet out I can, and there's also this thing where I try to break off, and they try to dodge in the same exact direction and we collide, kinda like when you're walking down a hallway and there's someone else walking towards you, and you both step to the same side) and hit helicopters, and they've died, and I lived with no damage, they've died and my engines caught fire, neither one of us was damaged, they took no damage and I exploded on the spot, we both took heavy damage, etc etc..


Same thing in chopper, been hit by plenty of jets and have had every combination of outcome happen.

@Clin, my problem with playing on console is the fact that I absolutely hate FPS on a controller.. Just feel like I'm playing Golden Eye with friends all over again, I can't stand using a joystick to aim a gun... You can either have accuracy but turn stupidly slow (unless you can turn around nearly instantly, less than a second, that's what I call stupidly slow) or you can turn fast, but then accuracy is harder to maintain.. If they could make controllers that were truly intuitive and could respond the same way a mouse does, then I'd have no problem with playing on console...

As it is now, the only thing I use a controller for [and only because I have to wait til we can afford a flight stick] is the planes, and that's only because (to me) using the mouse to control the plane is as HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE as trying to use the controller to aim your gun.

I fly the choppers with mouse and keyboard, I have HORRIBLE experiences trying to fly them with a flight stick in BF2, and I learned to get very good at controlling them on mouse/keyboard in BF2, so I stuck with it.

Next DLC is getting announced this week. It's rumored to be an all American DLC, but we will see when it's announced. A New Jersey map is rumored. Hopefully, it will be Atlantic City, so we can kill each other on the boardwalk.
