No I mean the ones that use the actual flashlight. It's hilarious I see it all the time.
Camper is a term that holds very little meaning in Battlefield. Defense is as critical as offense is. Defense means holding your ground, which means staying the same general area and preventing any offensive forces from passing.
In generalized FPS where the object is to just run around killing everyone, the term makes more sense, but when your objective is to capture/hold/defend certain points, camping losing it's meaning. It's no longer a derogatory term used for those who lack the skill or choose less reputable tactics, it's a necessary tactic to ensure your win. On opposition it's your job (and the point of the game) to overcome those entrenched defenses and take it from them. Psycho, are you familiar with how spawn points work? I haven't paid too much attention to the functionality of squads, but I have noticed that by default, I believe we all randomly get assigned to squads.
Then, i sometimes see a "someone will spawn on you in 10" message. I think its kinda cool how that works as before in BF2, you can only spawn on the squad leader. Last night I found a sniper, killed his *** and took his Recon kit. Turns out, they have Beacons that are used as spawn points which I thought was awesome. Anyway, just trying to see how I can be flagged as a spawn point and what I need to do for that as I always take on the role of squad leader naturally. ty You are assigned a squad, but you can change the squad you're in, at least on PC, there's a tab called Squad. You can spawn on any squad member as long as they're alive (or if they're in a vehicle as long as there's an empty seat) unless the server has it set differently (I've encountered at least two servers where squad spawning was disabled). It doesn't say spawning on you in 10, you get 10 points every time a squad mate spawns on you (more if you get enough to earn a ribbon for it.)
The spawn beacon is a mobile spawn point, you can place it almost anywhere (sometimes you'll run into a place that it won't let you put it, seems to be it has to be on roughly a 2x2 foot flat piece of terrain) you've probably heard them before, they beep, the closer you get, the louder they beep, it'll be a box with a small satellite attached, if it's an enemy's beacon, destroy it, even after the sniper who placed it dies, the squad can still spawn on it. You also get points for destroying it. As for how to take squad leader, you really can't. You can join an empty squad and wait for people to join or be placed on your squad, or after the leader of your squad leaves you may be assigned leader, but there's no way to absolutely take leader from any already formed squad. If you're squad leader, point your cross hairs at a flag and press the spot button, this tells the squad to either defend or attack that flag, anyone you kill in the vicinity of that flag (as well as the rest of the squad) gives you extra points, you also get extra points for capturing the flag. Sweet, thanks for that last part of the info on extra points. Had no idea that was in place.

While that is fine from a mechanics perspective, I don't find digging out campers fun :/ most boring part of any FPS. I also don't enjoy any of the guns at all... recoil is realistic, but not fun. You have to be a bit away from it.. It still needs some work (in BF2 you could do it while literally standing on the flag) from what I've seen so far, you have to be about 50~ meters out for it to register. When you've properly assigned the order, you'll see a four dots on the outside of the diamond forming an X shape.

I just keep writing it off to saying I suck at the moment, but I've had the least fun in multiplayer so far in my entire FPS life. Yeah Raen BF3 is more like going to war and less like playing paintball with bullets. MW3 will be
Longest headshot 315m. Almost had a 500+ some recon was waaaaay up in the mountain across the map but I had my SOFLAM deployed so he was lit up. 2 shots to zero in, third shot hit him in the back.. (he was laying down and the bullet arc was a little off) and he got up and ran away. Was sad.
Enough Snipercon play for me for now. back to the old assault. I believe that means, for every rocket you shot.. you hit someone and on at least one occasion you probably killed 2 people with 1 rocket.
![]() Not mine but loool @ image. Taken from official forums. I managed to learn the helicopter with default controls by the way, it took a *** ton of practice, and i finally unlocked a ton of things on BOTH jets AND helicopters. I get nervous as hell when someone else goes to pilot the helicopter though... i can usually tell within 10 seconds if the guy has any clue what hes doing lol. This game... is crack on a whole different level :( I spent 7am yesterday to 4-5am playing it on my day out from school. Whats worse is i had almost no sense of time being passes minus breaks for restroom or a snack from the kitchen lol. Who knows, I'll possibly come to like BF3. At the moment, it's camp wars with guns that aren't fun to use :( And don't say you can't play CoD on a tactical level, because me and my clan both do and it's how we achieve a great deal of victories. Just pre-empting this since so many BF3 players (not meaning anyone here) seem to consider themselves "above" those who play other FPS. On ps3, I've created an account, I've played online. Dunno what else I'm suppose to do. Edit: Sorry but I have no faith in Activision after black ops and letting most of the IW staff go. Which is quite sad because I loved MW2. i havent played a fps game since waw came out. got it free with my last vidcard. so coming from a total fps nub this game is a blast
oh hay.. servers down again for 360 -,-

I have some homework to finish up real quick anyways because god only knows ill be up again until 7am playing it tonight (i wish i was kidding). ![]() After two days of playing :X In before Also god damn that's a ton of ribbons for 48 hours >____> This is a very bad addiction. It's just.. so fun to jump onto a tank, run over top of it, then shotgun 5 people that were following behind it.

One of the biggest barriers to improvement in games is worrying too much about your stats; once you try too hard to preserve that precious k/d (some caution is good, but playing too conservatively is bad and playing like every death is going to ruin your k/d is very stressful) or that accuracy (losing perfectly good kills trying to get the "perfect" shot etc), your improvement is going to slow. Unlocked the F2000 assault rifle. This gun is beastly. Chews through ammo but holly hell does it throw lead with low recoil.

When i first started playing i was getting really irritated because i had that call of duty *** mentality. I'm starting to see how CoD ruined FPS in general, i remember counter-strike and class games, hell even Modern Warefare 4 was good... but when they started the trend of MW2 and beyond it just went downhill for me in general... lost interest. Battlefield 3 has renewed what FPS is really about to be honest. I don't really care TOO much about k/d but accuracy is pretty important though. Going to bed at 4am (decent time) tonight yay. |
