POL?

If you're able to actually get into PoL, you can be assured that your account is fine. If, however, you're not even able to log into Pol, you'd have cause for alarm.

That sounds about right, this free month is gonna end up costing me more lol.

So what happens when you go to log on and it says your entire account has been de-activated and when you go to reactivate it then you get the USC-5024 or whatever

I was able to get onto POL yesterday. Today I wasn't even allowed to get onto POL. Now when I try to reactivate my account it wont let me. Keeps telling me my password is wrong yet it let me log into POL with my password.

Honestly if this doesn't get auto fixed tomorrow and I am forced to call them... they may as well ban my account cause i'm gonna have some very choice words with them.

Including but not limited to: their shitty PR, Their shitty forum, their shitty dev team, their shitty support team, their shitty "lol we dunt wrk no weekends herpderp" ***.

Yeah... i'm fed up.

Not to be an *** but... Good! I'm not the only one with the ID/Password is wrong error.

When it came to the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear problems I was very understanding and supportive to SE. I wasn't happy but really didn't care I couldn't log in for almost two weeks. Heck, I would had waited whatever it took.

But NOW it is a different matter. This problem is NOT caused by a natural disaster, but rather human stupidity.

Natural disasters can't be helped, but human stupidity can and SHOULD.

Actually, they can be helped. I've dabbled in info systems consulting in the past and have found the well-managed businesses, especially those that deal in online services, maintain off-site back-up servers to keep services provided 24/7/365 even in the face of natural disasters. A lot of major airlines and financial institutions do, and you'd imagine having back-up servers in China, South Korea or even Silicon Valley would be relatively affordable. If not for FFXI and its limited playerbase, then for FFXIV, which is supposed to be SE's MMO flagship right now...

But that's neither here nor there. Just wanted to point out that a natural disaster need not have to stop a multinational corporation in its tracks. It's one of the benefits of having foreign branches and good enterprise risk management.

I saw someone post on the official forum that they spoke to a GM in game and the GM stated that we will have to call monday to get it resolved.

Now I can't really say if this is true or not, but I am really not going to like it if I have to call in for them to fix their own god damn *** up.

And if I do, they better have more god damn people to answer them phones cause I sure as *** am not going to wait on the god damn phone for a few hours for them to tell me that I am either doing it wrong, or them to take 5 seconds for them to hit their magic "activate this account" button ***.

Don't want a debate on this, and I agree with you about redundancy systems to keep running 24/7/365 IF the cost was worth it (and we don't know if it is or not), but what I literary said was: "natural disasters can't be helped", refering to the events themselves, not to the consecuences of said events. Those can, indeed, be helped.

Just to clarify and because I am bored/pissed off.

I am trying to finish inputting my credit card information but it gives me an error when trying to verify my expiry date and postal code. Anyone else have this issue.

I can safely assume that I probably would assuming I could ever get that far :/ i'm still locked out from even reactivating my damn POL account :/

Dunno, just make sure you're not in windower when putting in the verification codes etc. It doesn't like that.

Ya I am not in windower, but i had this problem before. I cant remember how I entered my postal code so it worked

Does anyone know the proper way to enter the postal code, I have used every possible combination

Often with prepaid debit cards your services for the previous month are billed the following month i.e deducted from April's available funds will come March 2011 so if u are using one and find ur account access denied or unable to reactivate content this may be the cause. This is the situation with a friends account and their free service may be granted to them in May. Not sure but either way if they are able to still do it (SE),its a generous offer. I hope all who are dealing with account and log in difficulties will have them soon favourably resolved.

Your not the only one paranoid.It really freaked me out when I tried to log onto POL via SE's site to have it tell me that my content ID was defunct and even more panicked when I attempted to remake my acct. and it said my registration code is no good. It makes it look like my acct. look like it never existed!

The account exists, it's just in some type of "limbo" right now :/

I just checked to see if there was any new info from SE about this mess and it appears that they have taken down the "problem solved" statement they had earlier posted. At least they now know that people are still having problems instead of ignoring the issue.

This is interesting to me... on the 2nd Screen, you have to enter your one-time password to enter, like normal, but for the reactivate option: does it give you a choice to enter the one-time password? It doesn't seem like it.

Could that be the reason none of you can reactivate? Because... from what I could see, SE's system, if you have a one-time password, you always gotta log in with it.

Of course, if someone isn't using a token, this is all crap, but... maybe...

Apparently, under normal circumstances, after you enter your POL ID and Password, it prompts you for your SE Password and Onetime Password. We can't get past the POL ID and Password due to USC-5024.
