Cross bow would be a favorite weapon of mine for for supply runs. It's quiet and powerful and once you take down a zombie or two you can advance and retrieve your arrows. Mind you if it's blood infection be sure to put them in the fire pit for a few seconds to destroy the blood on your ammo.

Totally going with a silenced M-16 with a back up of a long *** metal pole type object. As far as a camp I would just get on a roof of one of the many houses around me and pray to god they cant climb.

Mini-gun mounted on a tank then, idc, gimme a big *** gun with gigantic bullets, and an endless supply of ammo. Until me and my comrades obtained such a stockpile, i really dig the crossbow post a few back

LOL, i called my brother who was in the millitary, and hit him up with this hypothetical question, and yes, you should seek out the nearest military installation and try to grab as many wpns as you could carry/drive outta there. Defensive position would prlly be a grocery store of some sort(depending if anything was left inside the store)

Watch HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD for ideas.

I just finished watching this series yesterday, lol.

I was going to choose a katana, but it seems I have the most experience with a baseball bat so that's what I'd have to choose. Not a wooden one, probably aluminum for weight/durability.

Agreed with Brunwulf btw, Gundams > Everything. However if there was an EMP blast from a nuke like in Highschool of the Dead... >.>

ok, so mental note: when piloting a Gundam be ready to power down asap in the case of EMP blasts.

Yeah I'm not sure if the survival guide said it was good. Or World War Z, in the book World War Z it was a common weapon of the marines. Though it was more rigged together then it was imported. The lobotomizer

One of my father's rifles with bayonet. We have multiple and more ammo stockpiled than you would really care to imagine. If I'm not living at home with him by that point, then I'll have to re-think things, but as far as I know, it's a congruent idea that my friends have. They all come to my house and we stick it out or move on.

Seriously though, as far as combat goes, with a Bayonetted rifle, plenty of reach and you only have to pop in the magazine to start firing if need be.

As for where I would head, it would be towards the ocean. I'd find myself a seaworthy vessel and keep her maintenanced for whenever the need arose to flee.

according to both the guide and WWZ it's ideal

A decent set of riding leathers (or at least a solid coat) for resistance to fluids, abrasions, and punctures. Offhand a aluminum T-ball bat to keep distance or maybe get a lucky shot off. Main hand a solid roofing hammer (estwings are prolly the best for it) 2' reach with heavy head and hatchet blade on back side. Durable, sustainable, and easy to find or pillage... tho prolly not as fun as a napalm moat or a gundam.

couple problems with that, the zombies that end up in the water could climb your anchor line and you're not the only one thinking it'd be good to be on the water so you'd also have to protect your boat from other refugees.

to the guy that mentioned aircraft carriers: i have spent several years of my life underway on them and trust me if the infection got on board a carrier would be an absolute NIGHTMARE to clear.

Not reading everything but depends on alot of things. Ammo can be a concern but not always. And ya know you can always beat stuff with a rifle.

Asura.Psubond said:

Um is there even enough clearance for a person to climb in where you pull the chain thru? I know alot of boats there most likely isn't. And not that hard to block it. And can't be that easy to climb. Not like most zombies are usually that good at climbing to begin with...

Anyways....

My main weapon which I would use to try to kill/disable as many I can a day in hopes of eventually diminishing there numbers would be...

Just lead them to the edge than jump across or something.

For self defense under normal circumstances.

Hmm what's with the ghetto grip bro? Isn't that mainly used for hip firing?

Edit: what other attachment's are there? Maybe a shotgun attachment at least for a breaching if you can't carry a crowbar.

According to The Zombie Survival Guide, hand over hand motions as well as foot over foot, something like, climbing a ladder for instance, is impossible for a zombie. They have trouble going up steps, let alone climbing. Even if they could, I could split the chain.
Zombies don't close their mouths or think to do that. Waters going to flood their system. With all the water weighing them down, any sort of climbing action would more than likely tear them apart.

The statement of dealing with other refugees isn't really a deterrent. Every other idea presented in this thread has that same problem/situation.

I think I'd opt for a crossbow. Situational ***is situational of course.
